Ibn Arabi

Of the three offerings in the Mystics collection, this is my least favorite. That's not to say it's awful, but to me it's the weakest of the three as far as a composition. To my nose it's basically an oud/rose/patchouli with other supporting notes that you normally wouldn't find in that genre (pineapple and black tea?). The opening blast reminds me of bourbon whiskey - spicy, caramelized spirits. After the opening dries down, rose takes over along with the cool spiciness of the rosemary, which matches and lifts up the dark, damp earthiness of the patchouli - both notes giving the scent an icy freshness. The Cambodian/Sumatran oud combo adds an earthy petrichor base. The pineapple isn't bright and juicy, but it does subtly give the otherwise dark scent a much needed lift. Smells like it would do very well in the autumn months. Overall, a very interesting and maybe experimental take on the oud/rose combo that I'm not completely sure works, but as with anything Ensar creates, it's loaded with top of the line natural ingredients and thoughtfully constructed with the heart of an artist.

Tested Ibn Arabi today & think it‘s pretty nice ! After the potent pineapple start (really authentic lol) with fresh & cooling rosemary the Bulgarian rose takes over & reminds me of juicy lychee, just like the Bulgarian in Lost Tribes Past & Present which I also really enjoyed ! It stays throughout the whole wear, the ouds are rather supportive than prominent. Ensar consistently has produced some of the best rose ouds. I don’t think anyone comes close constistency-wise, sure multiple brands have one or two rose oud bangers but none has as many as EO. They just know how to get it done & their roses are always top quality.

aside of Ibn Arabi being a Mushrik, this scent is really nice
