A friendly, bold floral from EPC, Jasmine Osmanthus gives summer holiday. No complaints really, it projects well and is uncomplicated. Suitable for work if sprayed lightly.

Trialling the sample size from EPC’s discovery set (essential). At first sniff, this transported me to a beachside spa in a sunny coastal town in Malaysia that I used to frequent. The frangipani notes make so much sense in the accord here; it’s as if they bottled up a place! The plot of land the spa was situated on was dotted with beautiful sunshine yellow frangipani trees and the spa itself always smelled of jasmine. The jasmine's staying power is also immense! I personally think it veers feminine, perhaps because I associate floral scents with femininity. I may be biased because of the nostalgia attached to this scent but I find its simplicity to be lovely; in any case, it’s meant to be a minimal scent that can be layered so complexity, if so desired, can be achieved.

So simple yet so, so good. Jasmine and osmanthus in all their heady glory, made to be layered but honestly perfect all by themselves. A gorgeous summer fragrance - not for refreshment or relief - for embracing the sunshine and plunging headfirst into a heap of white and yellow blossoms.
