Otello

Otello is stunning. What I get on my skin with Otello is primarily cacao powder (not cocoa or chocolate but red cacao powder), with a heavy dose of dark honey which gives it a bit of a boozy character. The cardamon and pepper are present in the opening but just play supporting roles and give the opening a spicy kick. If you’re familiar with Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate you know it’s not milky or lactonic like regular hot chocolate , it reminds me of that with extra dried red pepper powder and a hint of cardamon. Underneath all these the hazelnut is present but barely. This is not a nutty fragrance by any means. In the mid to dry down, the vanilla comes through, as more oily vanilla pods, similar to what you would get if you were to crush them between your fingers. The driftwood also plays a supporting role as there is a hint of woodiness grounding the fragrance. I don’t detect any patchouli to be honest. The overall effect is a sweet, rich, boozy, cacao vanilla fragrance. It is perfectly unisex but on the sweeter side. It smells sophisticated, rich, and beautiful. Projection: Solid. I’d say 2-3 feet for the first 3 hours then you have a nice scent bubble. Longevity: 7-8 hours. Volume: 90 mL— ignore that little 100 mL on the box. Several bottles have been shown to only have about 90 mL.

Gorgeous - feels to me like it takes from the best of vintage Angel, adds clarity and radiance without dwelling too deeply in the patchouli and overlays it with something like Ani giving it a spicy gingery/warm start with a citrus polish that adds some light and doesn’t head into fruit or cleaning product territory. She then settles into cocoa dust, a rich crispy amber with spices and a heavy dose of vanilla. This is really gorgeous. Wearing your favourite sweater, peeling a couple of the juiciest clementines and then sipping a hot spicy cocoa on a damn cold day, cupped between your hands that you are reluctant to put down. This!

Beautifully smooth cacao and hazelnut note. You can kind of get a hint of all the different notes in this one, but no matter what note you smell, whether it's patchouli, hazelnut, cardamom, etc. it gets this very natural cacao-body which adds an interesting depth to it. Ideal fragrance for a christmas-get-together, or a a cold evening whether you're outside or in

Surprised just how good this is....a very well balaced Gourmand, which goes in a almost "boozy" direction after 20minutes. There is no boozy notes in it but I get a Amber smell that gives off a rum type smell...I'm guessing its the mix of Patchouli/honey at the base....Wasnt expecting much but tried a sample and had to get a full bottle.

I love this one so much, it’s delectable! A warm, sticky gourmand, I get spicy cocoa, vanilla and patchouli. Great longevity. It’s my go to fall and winter scent.

I just tried a sample of this one and I really like it. It's a really good one and I don't usually get intrigued with a fragrance. Very beautiful and well-balanced fragrance. It starts with hot spicy notes of chili pepper and cardamom in a very sexy way. Then the gourmand facets arrive after a few minutes. The cacao and hazelnut in this fragrance are full of energy and depth. I don't know how but I can feel all the depth, dimensions, and energy of these notes. All these notes are supported with patchouli, honey, and vanilla. The patchouli here has all its depths and complexity but in a very good way. I rarely see a patchouly note in a fragrance that keeps its dark character but with such harmony with other notes. The vanilla and honey notes are very well-balanced with other notes. The fragrance does not have an overdose of these notes and it is not too sweet. Another creativity of the fragrance is the driftwood. It is a very smart choice for the composition. It makes the fragrance very unique with a character. 8/10

Otello is a strong fragrance. On my cool skin it come out as very realistic pine tree with cocoa and cardamom. Unisex heavily leaning towards masculine side. I think this fragrance will be stellar on a cold winter or late fall air. Also will be amazing on a man. Edit: Just noted someone below mention that bottle comes not full. That was my experience. At first I was really confused and thought that I got a defective bottle because it appears to be not quite full. But reading the other review, I realized that I’m not the only one with the bottle like that. Anyhow, the scent is potent and totally worth checking out.

The opening is warm and spicy, perfect for an autumn day. I don't always pick up patchouli in fragrances that include that note, but it's definitely there in the drydown, along with a bit of vanilla and a whisper of orange. It's sort of sweet but also a little earthy, but not too much of either, which is very pleasant. There's hazelnut and cardamom playing in the background to add depth and a satisfying, well-rounded feel to it. It's definitely suitable for either sex. The more time passes, the more noticeable the orange becomes, which meshes well with the touch of wood. The effect is very calming and relaxing.

I have it, a total hazelnut and cacao beast, a classy royal gourmand with a nice evolution. On my skin it lasts about 9 days, the concentration is 35%, wich is a lot. Great for the cold weathers.

A sweet, smooth gourmand patchouli, an Angel flanker for the 2020’s, and there’s nothing subtle about Otello. Here the patchouli plays dominatrix with the other notes, only the cacao comes close to matching her intensity.. One tiny spray left the pizza girl swooning. When I told her it reminded me of Angel, she asked “what’s that?”. Otello by Epicò is for this girl.

A delicious swoon worthy chilli hot chocolate! The gourmand to end all gourmands, imo. Amazing longevity and projection without being offensively beast mode. I love how you can so clearly sense the note progression from the spicy chilli and cardamom opening giving way to rich, sweet, slightly creamy and slightly earthy cacao and hazelnut, grounded by patchouli (not overpoweringly, although I am a patchouli fan so it's hard to overpower me with it!). The dry down is absolutely heavenly and still keeps its character (doesnt just turn into generic creamy sweetness!). Absolutely in love with everything about this perfume except the fact it's not even readily available in my country (I fell in love with it after trying a sample on recommendation from an awesome private seller of niche perfume decants, now have a precious 10ml of it to enjoy until I have to worry about where to source my fix!). 9.5/10 only because it's playing hard to get.

A nice crisp opening with a smooth, soft undertone seems to get lost once the wood comes in. I mostly get the driftwood after five minutes. Not bad, but it sort of takes over. Bright, woody slightly aquatic. Definitely a masculine scent, but could maybe be tempered with vanilla for more unisex.
