Sorbetto Rosso

I loved the fresh aquatic feeling of this and the prominent watermelon note! It was perfect for summer! This was the first Escada perfume I had gotten. I got it when I was 14 and wore it mostly throughout 10th grade and especially in 10th grade summer. I still have it and it brings back strong, but sweet, memories. 🥰 Only thing is longevity and sillage is very weak, which is unfortunately common with the Escada limited edition fragrances that they release every year, maybe due to the fact that they’re all eau de toilettes. On top of that, I would only spray it a 2-4 times. It only lasted 2-3 hours max. Most people said they couldn’t really smell much or thought it was a body mist from Bath and Body Works since it was so light. I would love to find another fresh summer watermelon fragrance that hopefully has better longevity, so if anyone reading this has any recommendations, feel free to pm me or write a review under this! 💖 Scent: 7.5/10 (Lovely but light and lacks depth) Longevity: 2/10 Sillage: 3/10 Price: 3/10 (Went for about $90 back when it came out but I got it at a discount) School Friendly! This is my summer signature scent - it's very sweet but also fresh and aquatic without being too much of a "sporty" fragrance. To me, it's like sour watermelon candy with a touch of citrus and a bit of light florals to make it a bit more perfumey. Because of the watermelon and fruits (the strawberry is present, even though it's not immediately recognisable) it's almost like a fresh gourmand, if that's a thing. I don't get any of the amber, musk or praline mentioned as the base notes. I got this primarily for the watermelon note, and I'm happy to report that this note is present from the beginning to the end and isn't lost as the fragrance developes, even though the flowers do become a bit more prominent towards the end. It's definitely girly and not at all sophisticated or elegant - it wouldn't be out of place on a pre-teen, but I also feel like the right person could could pull this off at any age. Watermelon Lollipop by Demeter doesn't even come close to this - even though the Demeter one is purely sweet watermelon candy, the watermelon here is so much stronger, even though it's blended with other things. In terms of longevity, the Demeter one is gone within 15 minutes, and this one is noticeable to others for over 5 hours on clothes, in my experience. So Sorbetto Rosso is definitely the better choice!

I ordered 3 Escada summer fragrances. Taj sunset, Miami Blossom and this one. I wasn't sure I did a good thing, because for a light Eau de toilette those weren't the cheapest. But immediately after they arrived, I knew I would not regret, at least as far as the scent itself goes. I was on the hunt for watermelon perfume and this one really did not disappoint me. It is straight up watermelon with sugar. The only thing is, that it disappears very very fast. It's more of a overpriced body spray. It's definitely the weakest of the three I bought. The bottles look gorgeous all together. But I feel like those fragrances are more just for my nose, I don't think people around me will smell it much, unless I really overspray. As the person below me, I would love to get some recommendations for watermelon perfume. I would love to find something that has a watermelon as strong as it is here. For example D&G L'imeratrice I bought as watermelon perfume and I don't get any of it, I was very disappointed

If you’re down on your luck and need guaranteed compliments on how you smell... Behold, Escada Sorbetto Rosso. It’s a candy sweet fruity watermelon sugar bomb, but it is delicious. This would certainly be out of place outside of a warm summery casual climate, as it is so saccharine. Like... don’t wear this to a board meeting as it’s pretty unserious. Fragrance snobs may roll their eyes at you, but this is the definition of a cheap compliment getter in my book. I gave a travel size decant of this to a friend and she used it up within a couple weeks. As far as what I think about it, it’s very uplifting and a fun pick me up. It does not last long at all, but the scent and throw are lightweight enough to spray in public without causing a scene. Shamelessly love this one!

I have never been an Escada girl and this fragrance has not changed that. I got it as a gift from my mothers sister so it gives me good vibes because of that but the fragrance itself is nothing that I would look twice at or even consider to try. At first it smelled exactly like Hollisters Crescent Bay. A fragrance my sister wears that I absolutely despice. When it settles it is way less disturbing which is nice but then again; I don't usually look for fragrances that are just bearable. Watermelon is really strong on me as well as sea salt. It is nice toward the end when the musk and amber comes through. Will I buy it again? No. Will I wear it? Sometimes during the summer but mostly because it was a gift. If you like Escada you will probably enjoy this.

This is a truly lovely watermelon scent. The watermelon is front and foremost through the whole cycle. Backing it is soft florals. What ever I wear this scent my 10 year old says, "Mom, can I take a bite out of you?" Me: "No!" Him: " Not even a nibble?" Me: " No!" Him: "Well then, can we go to the store and buy a watermelon????? PLEEEEEEEZE?!?!?" Me: "Put on your shoes, surgical gloves and mask...we're going to the Farmers Market" Him: "Yay!!!! Watermelon and a trip out of the house...this is the best day ever!!!!" Hey, in tough times like these, it's the little things that we derive joy from....to wear fragrance for no particular reason...a big, cold juicy watermelon and a happy kiddo!

Fruity flirty sweet playful fragrance for the summer! It’s watermelon with hints of strawberry and pear , the initial spray is sweeter than the dry down. It has great longevity and sillage on my skin. Husband loves it on me. It definitely reminds me of going to a fruit market on the Italian coast or a beach. This is a fragrance all ages can wear for different events, not everything is meant to be serious all the time🙄 I can see an elegant older lady dressed in all white with a sun hat in designer shades wearing this and I can also picture a 20 something girl in a sundress wearing this. Absolutely delightful, the candy like sweetness is done in a brilliant manner not too juvenile at all.

Yummy sour watermelon candies! I've always loved Escada summer perfumes, but I was a bit disappointed by the ones that came out over the last couple of years (the last two or three have all smelled like a generic fruity spray to me). I was honestly THRILLED when I tested Sorbetto Rosso and was able to smell something that wasn't just "fruit." My boyfriend really loves it too, and we both definitely get that Jolly Rancher vibe from it. No, it's not a serious or sophisticated perfume. But it's so fun! Bright, sparkly and youthful, there's perhaps a whisper of pear and strawberry but it's mostly a sweet, aquatic watermelon. Perfect for a cheerful and breezy summer day!

I love this! It is so sweet and juicy - young and fresh! This fragrance does not change or lose it's sweetness like many do. What you smell is what you get. And It doesn't dry down to a rotten synthetic smell like some other sweet perfumes do. The notes are blended very well, with watermelon being prominent. This scent lasts and lasts! I went to bed with this on and kept getting sweet whiffs of watermelon while drifting to sleep, and I could still smell it on my skin when I woke in the morning - It was on my shirt until I washed it. Worth the price for quality perfume oils. If you want to smell sweet and edible this is for you! It's a very pleasant summer fragrance.

First impression: normally I don't really like perfumes with the watermelon note in them, they are too fresh and aquatic for my taste. However, after sampling Sorbetto Rosso, I can safely conclude that I love the note in this one, as this is quite sweet and juicy, playfull. It smells exactly like the green watermelon bubblegum I used to buy at a small buffet at highschool. So nostalgic! Not a "serious" fragrance, but still a very lovely one, nice for summer. I also kind of detect a strawberry element in this. :) I may really get a full bottle of this, even though this is not "the kind" I normally wear.

We don’t have Jolly Ranchers in my country so I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this. Everyone is saying it smells like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. It does smell like kind of shampoo-y reminds me of a detangling spray that my mum might have used on me growing up. Smells also like the taste of a sour watermelon gummy lolly. The main note I get is green apple shampoo and watermelon lollies. Love for summer. This is the first successful bling buy for me. I would be keen to try other Escada fragrances since buying this. Love at first sniff!

This smells like jolly rancher hard candies but in a good way. One of the few fruity scents that doesn't smell childish. This scent is more in line for Summer days but I like to wear it bed during the coolers months. It is a sweet scent just like sorbet would be but it's not cavity inducing sweet. I smell the sharpness of the green apple but it in no way do dominates. Watermelon is singing lead with strawberry as a lip syncing back up. What can I say, I am an Oriental scent girl at heart but sometimes I cheat with scents like this.

I love this fragrance! This fragrance to me smells like a refined watermelon jolly rancher, which I happen to like. It is fruity first, then it has some fresh notes to balance it out. It is definitely very summery and sweet like candy. I think this is one of the more unique fragrances because it doesn't have those musky and heavy undertones in the base notes that I can detect. It is definitely very fruity and bright. I am sad that this is discontinued, but I love this fragrance because it makes me happy.

Back with an update. My fling with this had a shaky start I'll admit, never liked Escada. Why am I all of a sudden craving this? I'm reaching for this more and more often now that it's getting warmer. Today I reapplied four (4) times (!!) just because I couldn't get enough and I rarely reapply more than once. What is it about this scent? At first sniff it just smells like watermelon candy but now I'm getting more of the salt, pear and praline. I can see myself wearing this quite a lot this summer.

I do not detect any watermelon. What I can smell is a very intense apple mixed with pear and some berries note. It is sharp and fragrant, and fruity, and Summery. Unusual. It does not remind me of the sea. What it reminds me of is Nina, by Nina Ricci, but a little sharper and more intense. I am not generally for fruity fragrances, but I can happily wear this one, because it does not feel too overpowering and it is fresh, not headache inducing. A really lovely fragrance.

I absolutely love the limited edition Escadas for summer! I fell in love with this the second I smelled it. I wore it all summer. It's juicy, fresh watermelon and it smells sooooo good. I get pure watermelon and sugar from this. Like others have said, watermelon candy. Has really good lasting power and is very refreshing in the summer heat. I have 2 other LE Escada fragrances as well that I absolutely love and can't wait to see what their scent for 2019 is.

After going through a 1oz bottle of this I knew I had to get a full size while it was still around in the discount shops. Sad that they seem to discontinue all my favorites... I had been hunting around for other watermelon scents that might compare while I had my smaller bottle but, nothing will ever measure up to the level of sorbetto rosso! NOTHING compares to THIS watermelon for me. I will treasure this precious liquid watermelon gold while I have it.

This is pure watermelon candy in a bottle! If you like sweet, fruity, candy types of scents you will adore this! It smells like a mix of watermelon jolly ranchers / bubble yum with a slightly aquatic salty note hidden in the mix. This isn't for the sophisticated folks, this is for the girlies who love nostalgic fun scents and don't take it too seriously! Love it! Got about 4 hours of wear, can't wait to see how it wear in the summer months.

If you love sweet, fruity, watermelon, ozonic, and juicy fragrances, you'll like this. Yes, this might be a youthful scent, but I have been on the hunt for a good watermelon fragrance for a while. I am wearing this for me. Living in a hot humid region, this is going to be one of my beach/by the pool scents. I had luck finding it at my local store. They said it had been discontinued. Definitely will keep my eyes open for a backup.❤️🍉

I have to edit my original review. The first tester that I tried, a mini spray, was a mess of alcohol and chemicals with zero fruity notes. I went to another Ulta today and tried again. This time, I could smell the watermelon, and oh, was it delicious. After drydown, it smells of sugary watermelon candy - sweet, not tart. There's a hint of powder that is there as well. This is a skin scent, but a nice one.

I found a bottle at a thrift shop. This one is wonderful! I wonder why it's not more hyped because it's so lovely. It's sweet but in a very appetising way. I like gourmands but I am tired of all the cookies and whipped cream everywhere. This one is fruity. I am not a fan of the top note though, but it disappears quickly and becomes great! And lasted on me for 7-8 hours, with pretty good sillage.

Just bought this recently and it is your typical fruity summer perfume from Escada. It smells very delicious and tropical! I have always loved Escada's fruity perfumes and have worn them since I was a teenager. I'm almost 40 now and will still rock these during spring and summer. The longevity is ok, maybe 3 or 4 hours. For the price point you can't go wrong if you enjoy fruity fragrances!

Sweet sweet watermelon. I fell in love with it at the first note. Bought a big one today and hope they will make it a main line. Or I will have to hoard. It does not turn into that kind of nauseousness inducing scent after a few hours like most perfumes do. I used to have something similar back when I lived in my home country but it got discontinued. I am ecstatic to have found this one.

Omg!!!!!!! I found my new summer fragrance I'm 29 and I love sweet delicious fragrances ❤️ this is so bomb and youthful. I really can't get enough. This is summer in a bottle it's so sweet and awesome I'm legit obsessed. It reminds me of a fruity shampoo with watermelon. Sorbetto Rosso immediately brought me back to my childhood, when my family and I would drive to Sweden and buy loads of cheap candy. There was this one bubblegum that looked and tasted like watermelon. This fragrance smells exactly like that bubblegum. I don't own a scent like this, so this was a splendid addition to my growing collection.

At first this is a lighthearted but very prominent sweet mouthwatering watermelon, not overly unrealistic. After some time the watermelon becomes less fresh and turns into a sweet pear. Very fruity, fresh, original scent I would wear at a beach bar in the sun while having an ice-cold cocktail.

It's watermelon candy with sexy perfumey undertones to make it skin-friendly. I want this so bad, but it's expensive! I am saying this as someone who generally prefers cherry, berry, citrus, apple, and other fruits. I miss Born in Paradise-- same idea as this, but pina colada-inspired.

Love it...my husband and our girls were in the PX and I sprayed it on myself and he HAD to buy it for me ( he’s a melon guy)...I myself thought it was sweet but not a must have for me plus it was waaay too expensive for my taste...but I wear it for him

This smells exaaaaaaactly like the "fizzy watermelon slices" candy to me which I love! It does have that artificial vibe. However this will be super fun wearing during summer time ;-) And it lasted a long time on my skin!

Blind buy based on the notes and the reviews in here (well, I adore Cherry in the air and used to love Island kiss - the original formulation) and I must say that I just can’t stop sniffing my wrists. I’m in heaven!

this smells just like popsicles and watermelon bubble gum! it dries down to be slightly floral and sugary. smells like going on vacation in a seaside town and visiting a candy shop :)

Orbit watermelon bubble gum that's allu need to know. Sillage is medium to intimate you can't overspray it. Longevity 3-4hrs. Very fresh I use it mainly in the summer 🏝️

I love watermelon and this was definitely one of my summer favorites for a while. It's fruity, sweet and playful. It's a shame it doesn't last longer on my skin.

Jolly Ranchers Watermelon and Sorbeto. Love because I am into sweet gourmand

Well, I read aura_therapy's review and I was surprised that I'm not the only one who's been layering this fragrance with L'imperatrice by D&G. Haha. I must say that it is a very very good combination. The perfect blend for me is 2 parts of L'imperatrice, 2 parts of Sorbetto Rosso and 1 part of Narciso Poudre(for extra depth, longevity, and boldness). I recommend you to try it, it’s a very good combination for a daytime spring scent. At first, I thought Sorbetto Rosso and L'imperatrice would be very similar, but the more I wear them, the more I see that they're totally different - the concept itself is different. L'imperatrice is very floral and Sorbetto Rosso is very edible and juicy, just like a sorbet. Together they compliment each other very well and you get a great juicy floral spring fragrance. It pretty much boosts everything great about L'imperatrice. If I had to go more in-depth into Sorbetto Rosso I would say that my first impression was “Oh, it’s the sour watermelon bubblegum scent from my childhood.” But don’t let yourself be fooled by this. The pear note is very dominant in this fragrance and it’s an almost overly ripe and juicy type of a pear. And if you’d throw that pear into a blender with some watermelon and ice cream you would get a milkshake that would smell like this fragrance. It’s juicy but creamy, sweet but very sour. Very edible and playful. And I did purchase it, but in my opinion, it’s not a fragrance to be worn by itself. Unless you’re a teenager, then it might actually be appropriate. But I thought that it would be a very good fragrance to layer as it adds more juiciness to any floral combination. And I’ve been using this fragrance like that since I bought it. All in all, I would say that it’s a good layering fragrance - if you're looking for something to add extra juiciness to your florals, then I recommend to try this. Sillage leans on the heavier side and longevity is moderate.

This is my first Escada (and dominant watermelom note) perfume and at first sniff off the testing paper in the perfume section it smelled exactly like a fresh pure watermelon smoothie. It put a grin on my face because this took me back to my Thailand trip with my mum and sipping on those delicious mini watermelon smoothies (asked for no added sugar for the most natural, authentic taste of watermelon) walking through the thick heat. Now that my nose is not muddled by other scents, I can safely say that the watermelon in here actually smells exactly like the L'oreal Kids shampoo in the watermelon scent!! Who remembers those?! Also, smells perhaps like a watermelon starburst would. Make of those judgements as you will. It's a scent that's fun and juicy. I would wear this anywhere where I don't want or need to be taken seriously. Longevity is poor to moderate whereas sillage is perhaps on the softer side of moderate. Layering with any fruity/fruity floral/summery-scented body lotion would add some longevity and more fun dimension to Sorbetto Rosso. Perfect for that fruity summer pick-me-up and to maybe cut through the heat with some SB's juicy watermelon love.

Should I be ashamed to admit it was a watermelon energy drink that made me look for a watermelon perfume? (lol) Fragrantica showed several options, including Sorbetto Rosso by Escada. All the stars aligned because, kid you not, two days later I found a used bottle for $7 on my go-to website! I'm happy with this blind-buy, it's exactly what I wanted: a WATERMELON perfume for the summer. I don't really get any of the other notes or the 'sorbetto' vibe ~ it's just watermelon to me. But that's the note I was after so it's OK. Mind you, the bottle I bought is an almost full 100ml bottle, possibly a tester. (Came without a cap) So it's not a brand new out-of-the box perfume, which might affect the smell. Who knows how long this bottle has been standing somewhere, that's always the risk when buying used perfumes.. Sorbetto Rosso is a fun watermelon perfume with a longevity of a few hours. It smells really nice in the beginning (and 'during'), but the dry-down isn't too nice. (Maybe it's better in a fresh bottle?) But no complaints, I wear it only when I'm going somewhere for just a few hours and then wash it off when I get back home.

I need to preface my review with the fact that I think Escada fragrances are quite nice, and I love a lot of the summer limited editions. I happen to own Cherry in the Air and I think that it's the epitome of a sweet, cherry and vanilla fragrance. But now let's talk about Sorbetto Rosso. I saw the notes listed on this website a few weeks ago and I thought that i'd probably not really like this fragrance so much because of a salty note that was mentioned in the pyramid. A few notes can make or break a fragrance for me, and salt is usually a no go for me. But, this past weekend, I saw this fragrance inside Kohls, and I tested it out. I ADORE the sweet watermelon fragrance that this emits! I don't honestly get any of the salt note to be honest, as this frgrance is blended really nicely. This is juicy, sweet, tangy, summery, fresh, and fruity. This will be perfect for the hotter months! I'm going to go back to kohl's and get myself a bottle.

I was poking around the perfume section at Marshall's the other day and was looking at DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom. I had almost selected that one after looking up the notes on Fragrantica but then caught a whiff of this one sitting behind it on the shelf. I searched it up and lo and behold, it was one of the perfumes I'd seen whilst on the hunt for watermelon scents (my favorite fruit). I got a 100ml bottle for $30 but I know it retailed closer to $90 when it was released. This scent is not a natural scent by any means. The watermelon reminds me of a shave ice syrup; very concentrated, artificial, and syrupy sweet. Fortunately, I love sweet scents. I can definitely smell the praline on the dry down. This is not a classy, elegant scent; it's a youthful and energizing scent. I won't be able to wear this during winter time so I'll enjoy it while I can. Hopefully I'll be able to find another bottle of this somewhere.

Possibly my least favorite escada scent ever. It smells like straight up watermelon with some aquatic notes. This scent wasn’t for me at all since I don’t the smell (or taste) of watermelon. EDIT 5/7/20: So I have to eat my words here a little. I bought this only because I have been wanting to collect escada summer perfumes for no apparent reason lately lol and I actually really like this now. Its fruity but not too sweet. I’m not a huge watermelon person and I’m still not but this scent isnt a sugary sweet watermelon so I think thats why I like it. The sad part is that it doesnt last on the skin (maybe 2 hours) but its an enjoyable two hours for me. Its becoming one of those scents like I like to spray in my room as a pick me up or after the shower. I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for it but for $20-30, why not?

I wear it to challenge fragrance assumptions. In my 20’s I wore Hermes Faubourg , a huge floral, the sales assistant said would be too old for me (she was trying to sell me something else). I think fragrance is ageless. In my forties now and I do wear this because I like watermelon (essentially it’s a take on watermelon with less vegetal and more synthetic vibes). It’s like a body spray with more longevity. It’s very inoffensive and I wear it optimistically on a spring day as I find it too sweet for high summer when I tend toward aromatics and citrus. In broad strokes it’s a fun bottle of fruity fragrance that costs very little, lasts for a couple of hours and is nothing serious, certainly it’s not a freshie due to its sweetness. I like it and I think anyone of any age or gender can wear it easily if they enjoy it. 😀

At last! A watermelon fragrance that smells like watermelon! I have looked for this for so long! The watermelon fragrance is somewhere in the middle between natural watermelon and artificial watermelon -- good thing I like both! This perfume is fun and refreshing: It's in-your-face natural, juicy watermelon and a bowl full of jolly ranchers at the same time! And it's all on a checkered table cloth spread over a picnic table with a basket of green apples and a big umbrella at the beach and the scent of the salty sea in the air as the waves roll in. The saltiness melts into your skin and is still present 8 hours later, after the melon and apples have been eaten and the picnic packed up - like a pleasant memory of sunshine and swimming and a beautiful day.

I bought it on duty free area at airport back in 2018 and I still have a bit of it. I was excited for it because I like watermelon smell. I'd say that I got a bit disappointed but also not at the same time? Like, the smell is great, but it's more like a watermelon jolly rancher rather than a sweet, juicy natural watermelon. Either way I enjoyed it very much (my boyfriend hates that synthetic watermelon smell/taste so he wasn't pleased tho) Aside from watermelon and watery notes I don't really smell anything else. It's a great fruity and fresh smell for summer holiday, but wearing it on a regular day seems kind of out of place to me. It could last wee longer, especially for that price.

It's super sweet, yet super-watery fresh fragrance created specifically to withstand high temperatures, and by withstand, I mean not choke people with a cloying scent. On the first spray, Sorbetto Roso is like a mouthful of delicious, cooled down watermelon, and it maintains this cool, aquatic quality even in the drydown. I love it. It's a type of fragrance you can wear while on vacation, enjoying long hot days and warm nights on the beach. Not sure why people are fussing about it being immature. It is not meant to be mature and serious, and it is not trying to sell itself as such. Just enjoy it for what it is. :)

This is a dupe for Bubbalicous bubblegum. Seriously, it smells EXACTLY like a freshly opened pack of watermelon bubbalicous gum. I don't hate it, obviously the smell of watermelon gum is very nostalgic for most Americans, but I'm not sure I want to smell like watermelon bubble gum. It opens with a almost grapey fruity melange of indistinct fruits and sugar. I don't smell anything aquatic whatsoever, but I do get a hint of salt. The dry down is pure watermelon with strong, sugary, and bright background. Very fun, very nostalgic, very juvenile.
