Osmanthus Absolu

For me this fragrance has a lot interesting juxtapositions it smells light and spring like and floral and fruity and then dark and dry tea and leather and on my skin this oscillation occurs all day. Last night I smelled this insanely delicious muskiness wafting to my nose from my arm - it had that 70's slightly oily vibe and as my nose got closer I realized it was the tea and cypriol blending into this modern yet familiar muskiness. The floral here is yellow and the fruitiness is a dry peach and these accords compliment the tea rather nicely. I bought the travel spray at Skins within a few days of release and I just keep returning to it - it is interesting, it works with spring weather and because of this interesting aspect my nose is really happy with it.

Just recieved an order from Skins, and within a few samples, also this collab from Essential Parfums X Skins! Immediately I thought I know this scent, took me a few seconds to realise this is very similar to Fleur du mal by Dries van Noten(I have the sample set of DvN), so I wear them side by side now and they are really very close! Will update with more info later Edit: 26 april 2026 This is really a strange one, ... to my nose its a mix of 90% Fleur du mal by DvN and 10% bois impérial by Essential Parfums, I say strange cause both Parfums are from Quentin Bisch and Osmanthus Absolu is by Mathieu Nardin..... I m sorry mister Nardin, but to me this is a 100% Quentin Bisch inspiration!

This is an interesting one. It does smell very similar to Pêche Mirage to me and I owned that one. But it’s actually more leathery and stronger. I’ll come back to provide more details as I wear it. I will say the fact I can compare this to a $400+ perfume is a great sign.

It starts fresh, floral, green, light peach and barely perceptible leather. Osmanthus is felt from the very beginning mixed with lily of the valley. Vanilla and leather emerge in the drydown. A great unisex fragrance for spring and leisurely summer evenings outdoors.

I love it! Perfect release for Spring. As expected, a sophisticated and elegant collaboration/release from Skins. There are the softer floral notes mixed with hints of vanilla, woods, cypriol, and black tea. Sometimes I smell parts of a fruitier version Gris Charnel from the tea and Cardamom notes. Unisex, longevity is decent. Sillage is normal to intimate. Picked up the 10 ml travel size, depending on how much I reach for it, a full size is not out of the question. Great value for your money, travel size or full bottle. Office suitable.

Pretty nice, friendly perfume. Very wearable and decent. It's quite boring and inoffensive, but those aspects of it feel very intentional. Clean, yet sweet and and a little playful. Anyone can wear this anywhere and it'd be fine, so it makes sense that the Skins employee I talked to was very much implying upper management basically had this formulated to be Bois Imperial II : Tea Note Edition.

I hate leather and cardamom and I’ve never smelled osmanthus and I love this fragrance!!!! Just looking at the notes I’d never care for this fragrance but I got a free sample, I’m surprised I like it. Nothing musty or old school. I’m testing it in rather cold weather. I don’t know why they’re releasing it now in spring and not earlier or in autumn, I could never wear this in hot weather.

A masterful, smoothly blended, natural smelling fragrance. It is a little mature, but not dated. I will update with a more expansive review later.

No it doesn’t smell like Fleur Du Mal at all. It’s not peachy.

Not my type of perfume, does really make me think of Fleur du Mal by Dries Van Noten, very similar to my nose. Ironically I’ve just sold a decant of FDM this morning and receive a travel size of this one this afternoon and it seems like this is the same juice. Maybe this one is more wearable but I get the same vibe wich I don’t like. Otherwise if you like FDM but don’t like the price point, get this one.

Smell Quentin signature, coud be Fleur du Mal or Vra Vra Vroom, It smells good and the codes are effective, but it would have been better if it had come directly from him. I’m not entirely sure the projection meets today’s expectations.

Where is my favourite osnanthus??? I feel only leather and that is it... typical smell of old car that my grandfather had....

It opens entirely with leather. the drydown, this definitely does not smell like a polished, elegant gentleman’s fragrance to me. Instead, it brings to mind a man in his late 30s or 40s with an old car with leather seats, someone who has been drinking beer and smoking, wearing a sleeveless undershirt, and carrying himself with a certain rough confidence.😀🤭 Oh my God, I’m finding it hard even to describe this perfume in words.

Smells like leather. Hardly get any of the other notes. Disappointed

Got my 10ml sample today. The opening smells like black tea leaves to me then woody. The drydown is sweet, it reminds me of a palmolive shampoo I just don't know which one. My female coworkers says it lean more masculine while my male coworkers says it leans feminine. For me, the opening leans masculine while the drydown smells feminine. Weirdly it reminded me of some la rive perfume for women, I just don't remember which one.

On fabric: a floral, peachy leather with a nice balance of sweetness, freshness, and depth. It’s long-lasting and develops beautifully over time. On skin: very faint. I mostly get a touch of light leather, with much of the fragrance’s character staying surprisingly muted compared to how it performs on fabric.

Was in Paris last week and I was able to get a sample of this with my purchase of Bois Imperial On my skin it smells like/reminds me of pages of an old thrifted book and a hot summer day surrounded by lots of flowers and plants... not in a bad way at all!! It’s quite enjoyable but just not for me

I am so glad that I didn’t blind buy this- and I almost did. On my skin it was mostly leather with a hint of osmanthus but that too dissipated within an hour. Not a bad idea but the performance is abysmal. Sadly, not for me and I was so looking forward to it.
