Honeysuckle Splash

Just pulled this one out of the back of my perfume fire safe. Yes, I keep my valuables in locked fire safes and I consider my 300 plus fragrance collection, VALUABLES!!! Some actually are...not just to me but to the fragrance world it seems. I felt compelled to write another review/story about this beloved fragrance.I bought it full price when it first came out at Nordstroms. Thats saying alot about just how much I fell in love with it. I am very frugal as a rule Stupid saleslady neglected to tell me it was a limited:release and stupid me for not buying more than one bottle. This is before I discovered Ebay and Fragrantica. Spraying that very last spray out of that very first bottle really killed me. But I did it...and I think I actually shed a tear. This had to have been the all time greatest honeysuckle scent. I know, I know, EL's kin, Aerin came out with Mediterranean Honeysuckle but it's just not the same. I really dont understand the concept of a limited release? Why? To get you hooked on something you really love just to yank it away? Sadists!!! I get the concept of discontinued IF (in capital letters) you are replacing that discontinued something, with something better. This goes for alot of other things in life, not just fragrances. Let's put it this way...if you find something delicious at a Dollar store, buy every last one on every shelf at every Dollar Store you come across in your travels. And dont buckle when your spouse berates you for spending over $100 in these Dollar Stores. He will thank you later when the only place you can find these things on Amazon, eBay, Poshmark, etc.) for 10 to 20 times the original price. Buy then you are a junkie to a particular fragrance, cracker, bottle of wine...you catch my drift. I bought 2 bottles of Honeysuckle Splash for $50 a bottle from another Fragrantican which was fair considering the prices on eBay. Just not too long ago, I ran out of something I usually buy for $1.25 from The Dollar Tree (someone please explain to me why the Dollar Tree hasn't changed their name to The Dollar Twenty Five Cents Tree? Could it be because they'd have to keep raising their prices to accommodate the changing of their signs?). Anyway, we live about 35 miles from the nearest Dollar Tree in a remote Desert Town because of my husband's work with the military...I despise it...but I am hatching a plan from the day we moved here 17 years ago..some great plan, huh? Whenever I need to drive into town for an item "that normal people can just hop in the car, drive to the store, buy the item and be back before the commercial ends that hubby would be watching, my hubby says, "just order it on Amazon...it will be here tomorrow or the next day". Me: "Oh, alright hubby! That $1.25 item is $12.95 on Amazon!" Hubby, "WHAT??? I will never hassle you for stockpiling anything if you can buy it for a fraction of the cost than online." However, this only works for Dollar Tree and 99cent store items. There are many smarty pants out there that predicted the tides turning with these limited release and discontinued fragrances. So whatever I save by driving into town once a week for doctors appointments and shopping trips, shopping at discount stores, etc. may end up in the pockets of savvy eBay fragrance sellers if I cant find an inexpensive dupe...and I havent for this one...YET!!!

I loved this fragrance way back when it was launched. Bought a bottle, full price at a local Nordstroms (and that's saying a lot, as I am a bargain shopper extraordinaire). In my naivity, I did not bother to ask if this beautiful, true honeysuckle scent was a limited release. It was. Thank goodness for Fragrantica and eBay. I have managed to acquire a few bottles (a couple here, from fellow Fragrantican) at a fairly reasonable price. What is reasonable? If you absolutely love something and it is no longer in production, almost any price is reasonable, am I right? I realize that fragrance companies are constantly creating and launching new products. Out with the old and in with the new. But some fragrances need to stay...and stay the same...no reformulations!!!! IMHO, this is a keeper and EL execs should be reading these Fragrantica reviews (heck, all fragrance companies should) and realize what their buyers want. Please relaunch this fragrance!!!!

Love this stuff went through 3 bottles when it was sold as special edit early 2000 still have the the 3rd bottle 1/2 full just to smell the cap hahahahaha. Why I like it, smelled to my nose nostalgic 60's to Avon's honeysuckle perfume cream (childhood magic memories) If you don't have the Estee version Honeysuckle Splash you can try the Avon perfume called TODAY which has the same scent vibe. I think the Estee honeysuckle is a bit sharper, cooler and the Avon Today a bit warmer and longer lasting. Great honeysuckle fragrance is all I smell in both, a must have for anyone who loves the beautiful fragrance of budding white flowers on trees and bushes in every nook and cranny of neighborhoods, parks, and outdoor plaza's in the springtime throughout the California sunshine.

In those moments when I feel nostalgic, I am aware of having lost a treasure, a great perfume among the few I owned in the past. More than a perfume, an experience. The whole air was filled with the unmistakable effluvium, delicious smell, of honeysuckle, that typical one I've not yet stopped looking for among the numerous commercial scents, nowadays available. I wonder if anyone really will think of relaunching it.

One of the nicest honeysuckle scents. This is an olfactory experience rather than just a scent. The enticing aroma of honeysuckle, whose identifiable effluvium I still seek out amid the many synthetic smells that are currently on the market, fills the entire space. I ponder whether someone will actually consider relaunching it. Despite being a limited edition, it was fantastic. Miss it

One of the best honeysuckle fragrances indeed that never managed to find in order to purchase. Just lived with some samples that managed to collect. Estee Lauder, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RE-LAUNCH IT!!!!

I have a couple of bottles, unused. Make an offer. When I could no longer find it, I called EL and asked about it. The man said he could find a few bottles and I said, send em. And he did!

WHERE CAN I FIND THIS????? I WORE THIS FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! IT WAS SOFT AND ROMANTIC AND I WORE WHEN IT ALL THE TIME AND RECEIVED SO MANY COMPLIMENTS EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Received this as a gift from my Mom when it launched. Beautiful, heady fragrance. Will always hold on to that lovely green bottle.

I actually don't dislike this fragrance. It is just not my favorite. It is very potent.
