Divin'Enfant

Our grandfathers could see things that our screen-bound eyes can no longer perceive. Everything about Divin'Enfant evokes a bygone era for me. The tobacco—especially pipe tobacco—is absolutely central to the composition, accompanied by a coffee-and-leather accord and a sweet facet that feels wonderfully unsterilized and authentic. This fragrance is cinematic or photographic. The scene: a grandfather smoking his pipe on the terrace of a beautiful country house. The tobacco here, far from the blond cigarette note of Jasmin et Cigarette, feels warm and comforting, even if slightly out of reach. The door between the house and the terrace stands open, allowing the rich scent of worn leather furniture and the lingering aromas of a sleeping kitchen to drift outside and mingle with the smells of a living landscape—back in a time before climate change reshaped our summers. There is something undeniably vintage about this perfume. My mind does not associate these notes with childhood itself, but rather with imagined memories of another age—an age that felt infinitely more connected to reality than the digital nightmare we continue to dig ourselves deeper into in 2026. The character of this fragrance is wonderfully ambiguous. The memories it awakens create a comforting cocoon around the wearer, yet there is nothing naïve about it. Quite the opposite. This is the scent of a grown-up world from the 1960s: a time when a weeping willow could cool an overheated courtyard, when not everything seemed destined to cause cancer, and when online political outrage was not yet the gravitational center of public engagement. It is one of the most poetic creations from État Libre d'Orange in my opinion. On top of that, the performance is remarkable. Longevity is excellent, and the projection strikes that rare balance of being noticeable without disturbing those around you, while remaining easy to rediscover on your own skin whenever the mood calls for it. I can't wait to add a full bottle to my collection. Tobacco lovers, this fragment of the past is for you.

Got my hands on the sample kit with 20 small vials of ELDO's fragrances to try with my girlfriend. This was number fifteen on our try-out journey! This is a very "love it or hate it" scent to me. A gorgeous blast of sweet, powdery goodness. The opening is pure bliss, adorned with delicious marshmallows and fresh talcum powder. I love the orange blossom note in here - it adds a nice floral, slightly sweet and barely citrusy aspect that compliments that sweet marshmallow so well. Then as it dries down, you catch whiffs of a very strong musk! It's a really interesting dichotomy to have such "clean" notes contrasted with these dirty animalic notes, especially alongside the sweetness. There's also other more masculine or dirty notes in there like the tobacco and leather that really lend a soft touch to the experience, and are balanced very delicately in the mix of notes here. My favorite was the coffee - super subtle but adds tons of depth, kind of like in a red velvet cake. I think the cake analogy might be kind of perfect for this scent given the inherent sweetness. There's some distinct layers to this scent that remind me of cutting through the spongy layers of a cake to reveal each layer's unique flavor and colors. And then your dog comes up and snatches a slice away from you when you aren't looking! Dries down very powdery, sweet, and slightly rosy. I loved the experience of this scent in the polarity between those clean and dirty notes. They play surprisingly well together - especially that musk - given the strange combination. I can absolutely see people disliking this scent off the bat just off this aspect alone, but otherwise, I find this one to be another excellent offering from ELDO for those interested in it. This thing also lasts FOREVER and remains at arms-length sillage for a large majority of my time wearing it - one of their best performers I've tried so far. Give this one a shot if you wanna try a funky powder scent!

Eau de Baby Herman. I had no idea I wanted a fragrance like this but after three wearings I am totally hooked. Contrast always makes a fragrance more interesting and this is one of the most intensely contrasting things I've ever smelled. Opens up strong with orange blossom, a decent kick of cozy tobacco, an extremely soft rose, and a gooey, candy sweet shaving cream/marshmallow fluff note. It's extremely hard to explain but to this nose it absolutely works. The dry down is where it gets exciting, every time I wear this it goes in a different direction! Ive had the sweetness linger all night, eventually becoming a warm candied coffee-tobacco-amber, while other times the leather has revved up its engine and it's become an interesting candied-rosey leather, and in hot weather the orange blossom shines all the way through. Every time I wear it I find something to appreciate and the fact that it keeps me on my toes earns it major brownie points. I think what makes this so captivating is the fact that it is completely androgynous. Simultaneously delicate and powerful, masculine and feminine, young and old. It pokes fun at the concept of gender-specific fragrances. This is not a scent for MANLY MEN or GIRLY GIRLS, this is a scent of a human being who is complex, one who has strong sides and soft sides, and to me that makes it more realistically representative of people than most fragrances. It's like a high ranking CEO exploring a diaper fetish. Or maybe a girly girl exploring something a little leathery and dangerous. All very fun and very exciting. While it's weird, I find that it garners quite a few compliments. Performance is great. Too thick for hot weather but perfect for the fall and winter. All in all this is one of the stronger offerings from this house and if it sounds interesting to you I can't recommend it enough.

Upon first try: absolutely lovely - in a little bit weird way, of course! Leather, baby powder and sweet neroli or orange blossom. Have gotten a 10 ml try-on bottle in the mail just 15 minutes ago, and so far, I do love it! Will update later, on how I recieve it further. 🙂 Maybe five hours later, or so: the weirdness is gone, and what is left is a kind of classic fragrance - like a luxorious body cream. Reminds me a little of how I percieved Chanel Coco (edt) the first time i smelled it, which was quite surprising to me. Not that these two fragrances resemble eachother, but neither of them are very ”perfumey”, but more like a creamy sensation - cozy fragrances, and not really perfume. And that is what I like about them. Final drydown: Mainly patchouli (not listed, but that is what I feel) and musk in the very best way, traces of something smoky, dusty and soft sweet. I love this fragrance from beginning to end. I think that eventually it will be a full bottle for me! Normal price is quite high, but there are good offerings now and then. Seventeen days later: Well, I didn’t linger for long!! I bought my big bottle as soon as I got some money - and today I went to get it from the post office! Sitting here in my armchair, indulging, while I wait for my food to get ready. This evening my man will come home from his hunting & fishing trip - I think he will like how I smell, when he hugs me!!

DIVIN'ENFANT is a brilliant masterpiece, embodying the distinctive ELDO style. It exudes an air of innocence, reminiscent of a child, both in its essence and aroma, yet fortunately, it transcends mere childlike qualities. This fragrance captures the essence of someone who has remarkably preserved a fragment of their childhood, delicately balanced between purity and corruption, navigating the realms of carefree amusement and indulgent hedonism. The opening is disorienting, with the notes crowded together, evoking a mix of talcum powder, adhesive bandage, and extinguished cigarettes. However, everything settles neatly and wonderfully in its place. The perfume possesses a dual nature that defies conventional wisdom, managing to coexist effortlessly. One facet exudes a sweet and childlike aura, exquisitely clean without becoming excessively saccharine, predominantly owing to the dominant presence of orange blossoms and musk. On the other hand, the second facet remains somewhat concealed and dark, unmentioned in the manufacturer's notes, hints of dry leather and burnt tobacco tantalizingly emerge, possibly influenced by heliotrope and the most profoundly dark patchouli I've ever encountered. My nose stops here, so I won't go further. The dry-down is clean, fresh, and extremely reassuring, perhaps reflecting a less complicated and more blissfully happy moment in our lives.

Smelled in store and the sweet powder was very strong, really lovely and a bit more complex than most powders which I enjoyed. With the sample discovery kit this was my take with wearing it: On me, dries down into a very sweet smokey rose, not syrupy, the marshmallow comes out. Orange blossom almost made the rose... stronger? It's a teenager trying to be an adult; missing that mark by the innocent skin on your face but red eyes from drinking and drugs with your friends. Something with the vibe of giggles... somewhere in the mix? Going into the city on a school day. Smoking behind the gym building. Degenerate memories with the innocence included. On my skin it's quite fleeting, might just be me. It fills a space but I can't really tell that I was the one who sprayed it. It leans powder more than leather IMO. I worked at LUSH in late 20-teens and there was a perfume called Imogen Rose by Gorilla and to me this smells exactly like the <> of that perfume (it was a very very powdery oriental rose)... but maybe alongside few-hours-later cigarette smoke on skin. My first quick review just simply was the 30rock quote "I am a very sexy baby" which I stand by as the vibe of this. Further, it comes off as a spring fragrance at first but to me it feels more like New Years Eve. Fun, soft, sexy. A hug in the bar bathroom from the most gorgeous gal in the room.

Opens up with very sweet tobacco, but is reminiscent of a cigarette. There is something musky, sweet, and almost vintage in the background but it’s hard to discern. The tobacco fades rather quickly and I’m left with saccharine florals. The rose, tonka bean, amber, and orange blossom are tooth achingly sweet, powdery, and very vintage. The marshmallow in this is dusty, fluffy, and powdery. The smooth and finished leather cuts through the sweetness by a lot and the soapy white musk turns this into a skin scent. I had to put it up to my nose to smell it, but the coffee in this is very faint, but like a shot of blonde roast espresso. The final dry down is smoky, musky, sugary rose and orange blossom marshmallows. I’ve seen some comparisons to Putain des Palaces, but I can say that Putain is a a true powder bomb/baby powder scent and Divin’ Enfant smells like wearing a leather jacket, drinking a cup of espresso, and wearing a vintage baby perfume. Like many ELDO fragrances, this one is polarizing. My partner didn’t personally like this fragrance, and he stated that it smelled overwhelmingly sweet and loud. I personally love this fragrance and I think this is something I would’ve likely worn during my circa 2014 tumblr era. Leather jackets, cigarettes, soft grunge, fishnet, grid skirts, Arctic Monkeys, and platform boots.

In your childhood bedroom there lies a worn drawer, preserved in time. The paint peels off of one corner and when you run your hands over it you feel it with both your child and adult hands at once. Your favorite stuffed animals fill the brim hugging old sketchbooks of horses and pine trees and your name with someone else’s attached. You pick up an old favorite and press your nose deeply, inhaling, smelling their soft fur and how it has aged. And then, after a prolonged pause, you continue to dig, unveiling a new secret that lies underneath. Springy fur parts easily revealing leather garters, hot pink silicone, and layered glass. You eagerly pick up your new favorite toy lovingly, ready to play. This is what Divin' Enfant is to me - it's alluring but makes me feel adventurously sexy at the same time. This is my first FB of perfume [I like to call my perfume hobby a "hobby in theory" as I can't afford more than samples] and I think it would be a perfectly safe blind buy for people who like overtly feminine scents. ELDO is perfection as always, I wear this 8+ hours and while it settles to a skin scent, it's definitely still present. It warms down on my skin from powdery and floral to roasted marshmallows - YUM!!

The opening notes upon first spray are nearly cloying in how sweet and nearly-fruity-but-not-quite it is, but it very quickly settles into, as the notes say, a sweet white floral cigarette and leather smell. I dont quite get the marshmallow, just some unplaceable "sweet" scent quickly swallowed up by the rose, which I'm thankful is powdery, not jammy like some other ELdO scents or it would be overwhelming. Those notes aside, it is not a very feminine scent. The cigarette (not just tobacco, this smells distinctly like pall malls) and leather encircle the sugary floral core as soon as it fully dries down. I also detect a hint of, not baby wipes like others suggest, but a bit of photoreal baby powder at times. For the majority of its life on my skin it's a good every day sweet leather, one that maybe you can get one more to your taste somewhere else but it keeps a hint of rose that makes me particularly a fan, and may purchase a full bottle. tldr: This is like the tomboyish, whimsical cousin of the more grown up and edited scent that is Jasmin et Cigarette. Most will prefer the latter (if either at all) but this one has fans for a good reason.

Can a perfume really take someone this far back into childhood? This one did. A powder bomb, neroli, and tobacco; an unexpectedly beautiful combination. It manages to feel warm and sweet while also giving a cool-toned impression at the same time. The nostalgia is intense: I feel happy and sad simultaneously, in a way that’s hard to put into words. This is my third time testing the sample, and each time I fall into the same bittersweet mood. As for the character: yes, it’s sweet, but not the suffocating kind. The sweetness is like airborne baby talc; soft, fluffy, and innocent; set against a tobacco note that should clash, yet somehow sits in harmony. It feels both as pure as baby wipes/diaper-wipes and, at the same time, like the worn jacket of someone with years of lived experience. That jacket also seems to carry traces of rose and neroli; almost like the lingering imprint of a simpler, more ordinary perfume. I have so many thoughts abt this one. First of all, i was suprised it smelled so good, because I didnt look at the notes and i couldnt imagine anything concrete with only the name. When I smelled it, I immediately loved it. I love sweet scents and gourmands, and the blend between sweetness and woodiness was perfect. But when i started thinking about who could wear something like this, I immediately had an archetype of woman in mind. The woman who would wear this is a baddie. She is very sexy and a bit masculine. She has been hurt in the past and has a hard shell, but at her core, she is so sweet. She may have an attitude or a cold demeanor, but once you get to know her she is so lovely and a very loyal friend who sticks up for you. She seems so confident and strong, but shes not perfect and has her insecure moments. If you think my description suits you, please consider getting a sample. Divin enfant could be the perfect signature for you. It is very versatile, and i would say fits into all seasons and hours of the day, but some more than others.

I got a discovery set of 20 from this brand days ago, and have been gathering my thoughts since. Just trying a few a day so I don't mix up my thoughts. This was the 5th I've tried, and so far, I'd say this one is my favorite. That's subject to change, but this one is delightful - at least, it is to me. My husband, not so much. His opinion is that, so far, they all smell like baby powder or cleaning products. He said this one smells like Fabuloso. Made me laugh. He doesn't hate them, he just thinks they're unexceptional. For me, I kinda get what he's saying, but to my nose, this reads the most like baby powder of all of them. If I never read the notes (which I hadn't until just now), I would swear there is lavender in it. It has this fresh meadow-like note in there that I'm assuming is that orange flower. I get that sweetness, too, but it's very soft. The projection in this is one of the best from this brand (on MY skin, keep in mind). Always test. For the love of God, don't waste money blind buying.

Now, Domenico and Stefano, this is how a marshmallow perfume should be done ;) Sweet marshmallow + intoxicating orange blossom + tartness of tobacco. The tobacco note isn't smoky here, it smells like a new pack, filled with some strawberry flavored cigarettes probably. The marshmallow isn't sickly sweet, it is rather transparently-powdery sweet. And the orange blossom is just fresh and fragrant, very lovely. I get some leather undertone, too, and a hint of coffee (creamy cappuccino). It really reminds me of my early and mid teens, when I thought I was a rebel. I wore biker leather jackets that were two-three sizes too big for a tiny girl, smoked cherry flavored cigarettes, listened to heavy metal and was sure I'm cool and a grownup, hehe :) Sweet times of innocence, when you're effortlessly fresh and pretty and need so little to feel special. For me, "Divin'Enfant" is a great portrayal of it, with a hint of irony. In 5 words: tobacco, sweet, playful, fresh, unusual.

I don’t feel like it’s a safe blind buy, as most of the comments state, but I personally love it. The opening is very sweet and just slightly powdery. Afterwards it’s kind of weird, the coffee, leather and tobacco come off really strong and it smells just like a communistic cologne, some old herbs and spices and a wet ashtray, but this goes away very quickly. When it settles down, though, it’s one of the most elegant, beautiful scents to have ever touched my skin and the beautiful part lasts for a long time - tonka (or even vanilla, although not listed as a note), marshmallow and just slight hints of tobacco is what I could pick on, it also feels slightly soapy. The fragrance definitely evolves over time and the more it evolves, the more love it gets from me. It has received both compliments and hate. But it’s worth it. It’s addictive.

Got a 10ml decant and I already want the full bottle. First 10 minutes and it's truly divine. There's a lingering sweetness to it, a strong orange blossom, some powderiness, a burning cigarette, and raw tobacco leaves. It's realistic, gives a cool girl vibe. The sweetness and gourmand quality still makes it palatable because the tobacco is really strong. But it's absolutely stunning. It's sensual too, very sexy. I picture this being worn by a rockstar, a musician, a fashionista, a femme fatale, in an edgy outfit, maybe some Vivienne Westwood and sky-high boots, thick eyeliner and red lipstick. In the dry down, it's less sweet and more tobacco comes through, becomes unisex. It's truly one of the most unique and intoxicating frags I've ever smelled. Edit: Finally got a full bottle and it's still one of my favourites

It’s so good! Freud was a weirdo and the perfume’s conceptual description just reminded me. Anyway, I dunno about babies and their polymorphic perversion, but I do know that the notes juxtapose each other in the loveliest of ways. The top note of tobacco is a dry powdery tobacco that almost reminds me of baby powder when combined with orange flower and marshmallow. A slight sweetness that gives way to a rich, sweet, leathery notes with rose and tonka. This is good on its own but also layers beautifully with rich vanilla and marshmallow scents. I tested 3 ELDO scents in the past 3 days and ended up buying a full sized bottle of this one and another while getting a decant of the 3rd. I’m looking forward to trying their other scents( except the body secretions one and the electricians sweaty buttcrack one).

The name of Divin' Enfant comes from an old French jingle that I used to sing every Christmas all through elementary school, until utter satiation. I still occasionally catch myself humming its haunting chorus in the shower... brrr Leaving the memory lane aside, Divin'Enfant the perfume is quite a piece of wicked art. Its bitter-sweetness is masterfully balanced by the tobacco leaves, coffee notes and the unexpected marshmallow-vanilla accord. This is indeed a selfish, spoiled but irresistible child that flaunts a dark, vicious streak. A 15 year old Lolita that smokes daddy's cubans with her feet on his desk, while drinking his whiskey. Insolent, provocative, borderline illegal. And sweet all along :). The official marketing description is in fact pretty spot-on. A sweet little monster indeed. Love it!

A bougie BABY dressed in designer, at a party. Doesn't want to be put down because he's loving the vibe, all the attention. But unfortunately everyone's arm is hurting and is finally sat on the sofa, next to an older sibling. He smells sweet, boozy, warm & cozy. The sibling picks him up and says.. "you smell so good" (hugs him tight) LOL You now smell like him. This perfume smells amazing, it's a baby HUG in a bottle. Really comforting. This perfume is powdery, like baby powder, that has been corrupted by tobacco, leather, black coffee with a shot of musk. Not even mad about it, I love it. Leans masculine but I love wearing it. Layer with Brazilian Crush 62 (body mist) Chefs kiss. This is what you smell like after carrying a baby around for a while. A NIGHT time, cold weather perfume. BISOUS

If this would be a movie, it would be Little Miss Sunshine, but backwards. The opening of this perfume is like the genuinely brilliant finale of the movie. It's Olive, the most innocent of the participants of the dark and cruel child beauty pageant, tearing away the stripper pants to Rick James' "Super Freak". Just like the movie, it still manages to be sweet, funny, even heart-warming and serious and deep at once. And just like the movie is a perfect example of brilliant film making, this is an excellent example of what niche perfumery is about. The development keeps you entertained and the notes are a pitch perfect cast. I love Little Miss Sunshine, and I love Divin'Enfant. Unfortunately, I do not have balls big enough to pull this off myself. But I'd love to smell this on anyone else.

So I gave my friends a sample of this perfume and they are either immediately fall in love with the scent or hate the scent. However, even among my friends who hate the scent, give it a few mins (around 5min-ish) for all the notes to settle down then they seem to like it. For me tho, it is a beautiful and intriguing scent. It is a powdery-leather-tobacco scent but somehow at the start it gives many of my friends an bozzy impression, like a Rum alcohol to be precise. Then it settle down to a more powdery sweet musky scent that I just can't stop sniffing it the whole day. IMO, it is more lean on a cool weather perfume but even in hot days, I believe some people will can still pull this out just fine. Side note: I live in a tropical climate zone. Very humid.
