Noel au Balcon

This is the first perfume I'm trying from this brand because it's notes caught my eyes.the idea of a spicy honey scent looks lovely for me and indeed Noel au balcon IS lovely It opens with a orangey honey blast.it's sweet but juicy orange keeps it fresh,then orange fades and is replaced by dried apricots and it becomes spicy in a very pleasant way.I can smell cinnamon,pepper and unlisted ginger note.imagine a dessert made off honey,appricot,pepper and gingerbread with a dash of cinnamon sprinkled on it.yes,it's as delicious as it sounds.it's sweet spiciness reminded me etro etra,though in whole they smell totally different.this stage is delicious and attractive and interesting but it good get cloying if it lasted like this but this is not a linear scent. Orange blossom which was standing shy behind spicy gourmand notes,comes out of shadow and starts blooming.on the other hand vanilla shows up and rounds spices and fruity sharp edges and turns it's sharp,jam like sweetness to a soft,creamy sweetness.there are still fruits and spices but in a faded way.drydown is a combination of honey,orange blossom,vanilla and a light touch of spices.these are all my favourite notes so no wonder I like it.it's rich and soft at the same time.I can't pick up other base notes individually but they're definitely there giving dry down more perfumy vibe and preventing it from smelling too foody I liked it and I may buy a bottle for the next fall(if other options in my loooong wishlist let me and if they don't make it more pricey because even it's current price,90$,seems a bit high for me) Longevity is about 5-6 hours on me and sillage is moderate.unfortunately when it reaches to my favorite phase,creamy honeyed,spicy orange blossom,it's very close to skin but all in all I must say that I really enjoyed it and there are not many niche perfumes which I enjoy enough to consider buying them for myself ❤❤❤❤ شروع عطر با ترکیب عسل و پرتقال همراه هست که رایحه آبدار و شاداب پرتقال مانع از این شده ک عسل سنگین بنظر برسه.خیلی زود پرتقال کمرنگتر میشه و با زردآلو خشکه جایگزین میشه و فضای عطر بیشتر و بیشتر اسپایسی میشه..دارچین،فلفل وباوجودی ک جزو نت ها نیست،زنجبیل کاملا محسوسن..یه دسر با عسل و زردآلو و نون زنجبیلی و چند قطره هم آب پرتقال شیرین تصور کنید که روش دارچین بپاشیم.همونقدر که بنظر میاد خوشمزه ست و حالت خوراکی طور داره.بااینکه بشخصه عطرهای شیرین و اسپایسی و خوشمزه دوس دارم اما حس میکردم اگه کل طول عمر عطر به این شکل باشه دلمو میزنه اما خوشبختانه نوئل او بالکن عطر خطی نیست و کم کم شروع ب تغییر میکنه.با پدیدار شدن وانیلی لطیف و خامه ای،روایح میوه ای و اسپایسی هرچند کاملا حذف نمیشن،ملایمتر میشن،عسل از اون حلت غلیظ و چسبناکی ک داشت خارج میشه و سبکتر میشه و شکوفه پرتقال که درتمام طول این مدت،بی سروصدا و خجالتی پشت نت های خوشمزه قایم شده بود،از سایه بیرون میاد و با قدرت شروع به عطرافشانی میکنه درای داون ترکیبی از شکوفه پرتقال ،عسل و وانیله که فقط کمی با ادویه جات و میوه ها طعم گرفته..سنگینی و تیزی و شیرینی غلیظ اوایل عمر عطر رو نداره و لطیفتره..بقیه نت های پایه رو بصورت مجزا حس نمیکنم اما قطعا خضور دارن و باحضورشون مانع از این میشن ک درای داون هم خوراکی طور بمونه و حالت عطری بهش میدن باتوجه به اینکه همیشه میکس عسل،وانیل و شکوفه پرتقال رو دوست داشتم عجیب نیست ک نوئل او بالکن رو می پسندم درحدیکه احتمالا برای پاییز آینده بخرمش البته اگه گرونتر نشه چون همبن قیمت ۳۵۰ تومنیش هم بنظرم براش کمی زیاده موندگاری ۵،۶ ساعته و پخش متوسط داره.متاسفانه وقتی به مرحله محبوب من یعنی ترکیب وانیلی خامه ای شکوفه پرتقال و عسل اسپایسی میرسه دیگه پخش چندانی نداره و ملایم شده،بااینحال درکل ازش خوشم اومد

I am captivated by this perfume. I love the way this smells, especially on me (I am a 32yo F). I normally cannot pull off sweet fragrances as they tend to become cloying and emanate from me in a cloud of nauseating stickiness that is reminiscent of decaying corpses. However, this is not the case for this perfume at all. I find that the balancing aspects of the sweet spice and notes of pepper, as well as the more earthy and fresh notes prevent the smell from becoming overwhelming. As it dries, the fragrance seems to mellow into a more creamy note (probably the vanilla, which is subtle), and only becomes noticeable when a whiff of pepper or spice brings the sweetness back to center stage. I would definitely say this is a fragrance for women, but not necessarily one for those who can pull off the amber and vanilla scents without smelling too musky and sweet. This is more of a perfume for women whose body chemistry normally leads those notes to become overwhelming. This is a perfume for those of us whose bodies tend to make woodsy leather-based scents seem feminine and appealing. As for the imagery this fragrance conjures for me, I am almost afraid to confess the thoughts that it provokes. To me it is the perfect mesh of monstrous femininity and predatory masculinity in one. It is as though the creator captured the essence of Claudia from "Interview with a Vampire." It embodies the state of being trapped in perpetual physical youth (represented by the sweetness) while having all of the mature desires of a woman who is much older (spicy and earthy). She (both Claudia and this fragrance) is all at once a woman and murderous monster, trapped behind the facade of a young child. It is as though the creator wanted to make a scent that is reminiscent of the way the male gaze in Lolita transforms the innocence of youth and immaturity into something desecrating and erotic in nature. It is sexy, but in an immoral way. Let's just say, I won't be letting my daughter wear this perfume, lest anyone get the wrong impression. I will probably buy a whole bottle if I can find one, as it is one of the most intriguing scents I have ever smelled. I would give this 5/5 stars for its startling nature.

I've generally only worn this in winter because its central premise of "slutty Christmas party perfume" just works. I got into that ritual because I found that wearing it doesn't necessarily make me feel sexy, but attractive and sociable, the kind of warm person who has the energy to be open and present with a good amount of people. It's a great social anxiety perfume, like a sip of warm whiskey before walking in the cold to meet friends at a bar. It absolutely smells like the fun part of the colder seasons, when the chill in the air is still kind of a novelty, before the light gets too dim and leaving the house feels a little too hard. It's only just starting to get cold where I am, so I wasn't sure it was quite the right time for this perfume, but it's fantastic in fall. I wore this to my first Oktoberfest and it was the perfect scent for a cozy, brisk night with friends. It smells like a genuinely good night-- the social form of peace, where there's no concern about finding the right words to say, the hours are speeding by, and everything feels like enough. And maybe that's just how I feel about the company I keep these days, but it sounds like that sense of easy, approachable fun is what this perfume is trying to accomplish. It is so warm and full of life that I can imagine it successfully helping someone access that feeling. It's definitely got a spicy cookie smell, the kind that draws people in, but it's not at all cloying. It is so easy to wear and I couldn't stop reapplying and sniffing myself throughout the night. It's a great perfume for celebrating what's already there, and making the most of it. I really wish ELdO made travel sizes of their perfumes! Its staying power is good, but it is the kind of thing that fades enough for reapplication to make sense. I'm not usually one to spring for whole bottles, but I would buy a purse spray of this in a heartbeat.

Surprisingly ‘white floral’ feeling in comparison to the cinnamon Christmas scents I’m used to. There’s just about no cinnamon here to my nose (Edit: see my update at the end!), and it’s not very spicy at all. If you’re looking for a warm spicy UK Christmas in a bottle smell then look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a warm, ambery, orange blossom, Christmas-in-Tunisia kind of scent then this might be it. It has a summery vibe to me. This develops into a predominantly honey scent. Think JPG Scandal kind of safe honey, not skanky honey, but with a white floral layer on top (orange blossom). It’s a bit soapy too. Gets slightly more peppery and warmer as it dries, but overall it’s a very safe any-time fragrance, not Christmassy at all. (Edit: again, see my update below!) The main sillage you’ll get for a few hours is warm, peppery, orange blossom, honey with a vanilla base. It’s nice. I waited soooo long to find this in stock anywhere, as it was recommended to me as a Christmas scent, which I’m obsessed with, and while it is nice it is not what I was expecting. I found it so hard to get I wonder if it has been discontinued? If you’re used to designer fragrances this would be a very safe blind buy of a niche house. Edit: today I sprayed a good 4-5 big sprays across my chest and shoulders. And the sillage has definitely got cinnamon in it! I get less white flowers and more cinnamon and orange and apricoty honeyed fruit. So before you judge this I’d advise to give it a good go, not just a test on your wrist! I totally get how people think this smells of Christmas now! And yes, a uk Christmas lol.

Noël au Balcon is everything I was hoping for, a perfect Christmas scent: it combines gourmand aspects with something resinous and green and a surprisingly clean soapy aspect, and altogether it makes for an original, complex but above all very enjoyable scent that puts a smile on my face every time I smell it. The gourmand side of it is truly delicious but really wearable and kind of mature, honeyed fruits and soft warm spices in wonderful harmony. The subtle, barely-there but still impactful green aspect adds a nice echo of Christmas trees and winter greens (although I have to admit I'm not sure if I would think so if I hadn't been swept away by the marketing and naming of this scent), and that soapy side of it is a little exciting somehow, like being fresh out of the shower and ready for a big Christmas party. All so high quality and well-balances and comfortable but interesting at the same time, just really lovely. And it lasts all day as well, with just the right amount of projection. I have other favourite Christmas scents, Lutens' Fille en Aiguilles and Hermès' Elixir des Merveilles and Imaginary Authors' Saint Julep most notably, but I think this is definitely joining my December rotation! This is my first experience with ELDO other than a sample that I disliked years ago when I was just starting to explore the world of perfumes, and I have to say I'm very pleasantly surprised. I've always kind of ignored the house after that early disappointment, but this is making me want to explore it a lot more.

“Underrated Gem” Noel au Balcon is a really gorgeous autumn and winter fragrance. While there are several comforting notes I find the overall vibe to be spicy, sharp and energizing. The chili pepper really sticks out to me. Otherwise the honey, cinnamon, fruit and incense are all dreamy and cozy and draped over orange blossom -- but the overall vibe is a festive, sparkling aroma. On me it's only a little sweet -- might even describe it as neutral (in between sweet and not sweet). I really love Noel au Balcon. This is exactly the type of fragrance I'm looking for in the autumn and winter -- when I want something with these sorts of spice/fruit/woody/warm notes but I don't want an actual food replica gourmand or candle. Noel au Balcon gives me these perfect festive seasonal notes but wraps them in an actual perfume instead of a home spray/candle type of scent. This and Bijou Romantique are entirely wearable and beautiful creations from ELdO. PS: the overall style reminds me of Fendi Theorema. The notes for these two are NOT really similar (maybe a little), but the level of sweetness, and the way they both have an interesting assortment of aromatic, spicy and sweet notes that sort of stick out separately, strike me as similar personalities/style.

Intrigued by the name and the bad-boy reputation of Etat Libre d'Orange, I took a chance and purchased a small ampule, hoping as always, for the best. It was absolute love at first sniff! There is something so provocatively different from the homogenized world of perfume we encounter daily. Something so wistful and strange, yet familiarly comforting and joyous. The balance of the ingredients creates this longing, and obsession of the nose to return, and attempt at recapturing the enchantment. Yes, honey and apricot open, strongly forward, but not in a way that is predominantly spicy, or sweet. Case in point, it is not predominately anything. Clover, caraway and cardamon brighten the jammy notes and freshen the experience entire. Cinnamon and vanilla are palpable, but not oppressing or vulgar; just content at softening green notes and carrying the components further into the dry-down. Orange, paprika and earthier scents ground the perfume and open olfactory channels. So the scent seems to linger and breath like an organic, evolving being. My only complaint is the price, but given the symphony of structure and harmony of chords, I hardly begrudge the purchase.

I sampled Noel au Balcon last year. It didn't begin to work for me at all until Christmas time. I didn't like it at first. Strong cinnamon, caraway, and red pepper tickled my nose. There's a huge apricot note, but it seemed thin. All in all, the notes seemed to stick out sharp instead of melting into harmony. I didn't give up but tried it again and again even though the juice annoyed rather than pleased me. And then suddenly, being absorbed in a book, I absent-mindedly noticed an irresistibly charming fragrance linger around me.... it was my perfume! It was like a bonus Christmas miracle! Long story short – I stumbled on a bargain and got a big bottle! Finally when the juice had settled, it was a combination of sweet apricot and honey, very spicy cinnamon and pepper which may be chilipepper or caraway. There was something green, more like vegetable smelling. Since I love labdanum and patchouli the drydown was very lovely for me. Longevity is excellent, well over 8 hours. Noel au Balcon is now one of my best loved bottles 🧡🍯🌶️🍊

It is easy to be influenced by the name of a fragrance. The name of this fragrance may lead you to think this a very "Christmas-y" smelling fragrance, like a christmas candle. It's not. It is very suited to the holiday season, but I feel it would work well during any part of the fall and winter. I get the honey and apricot in the opening and the spices warm it up and balance the sweetness. I find the spices start to develop even more in the dry down. They never become harsh or bitter like I have found can sometimes happen. It stays warm and cozy. Exactly something I want to wear on a cold winter day. Overall it's pretty unisex fragrance that does lean just a little feminine. I would want to hug everyone at the party wearing this. The ELDO bottles have excellent atomizers, quite generous with a wide arching fine mist. With such a nice application I find I only need about four sprays to get excellent performance. It lasts all day, easily 8-10 hours and projects quite nicely most of that time.

Noel au Balcon, an oriental? Are you sure? This smells a fruity floral to me. To be honest I usually despise fruity floral, but this one is too good to be missed. Orange blossom is there from beginning to end, working as the backbone. It's done in exactly the same way as in Serge Lutens Fleur d'Oranger: bright, sunny and fresh. What makes it really stand out is the combination of fruit and spice. Have you ever tried eating half-ripe apricot and orange with crushed cinnamon and chilli powder sprinkled on top, like people in tropical countries sometimes do? It might sound a bit weird, but the result is a most mouthwatering fruit salad you can't get enough of. What's even better is that you're eating it under a blossomy orange tree! If they could add a bit salty note in here, this will be a masterpiece. But so far it's already worth a full bottle. The sillage is good and it easily lasts more than 6 hours on me. If you want a fruity floral with class and edge, here is the answer.

I wanted this for the longest time, and I mean it's been years and years. Finally I got a big bottle. It's one of the most unique scents I own, and I have hundreds, as I have been collecting for over a decade. Noel au Balcon is warm. It smells like a melted candle, waxy, honey , cinnamon and ripe apricots. I don't find it particularly Christmasy, although I see this working best in fall or winter. It's quite strong, with good silage and good lasting power. It has a sweetness very different than the more modern sugary scents, it's woody, sweet, and creamy like a custard. There's a hint of clover there, but it's not green, it's more like clover honey. A very interesting perfume, more on the feminine side, and probably not everyone's cup of tea. Test before buying, if possible. ELDO scents in general should be sampled first, as this company is known for bizarre flavours.

He shall find me there and bend a knee and let me strike him in return, be it a scratch on the cheek or a cut in the throat. I will return what was given me, and then in trust and friendship, we shall part. Who, then, who is willing to engage with me? This beautiful Christmas fragrance feels as though you're smelling Christmas past, present, and future.

Lots of the reviews complain that this should not be associated with Christmas. If you are looking for the cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, woody scents that are sold as Christmas scents in America, you will be disappointed. This is a representation of a European Christmas. I grew up in an area of Ohio where Italian patisseries were pretty common. This scent reminds me of being around those Italian baked good. Naturally sweet with honey, and slight whiffs of cinnamon. I'm fascinated with this perfume and how the different floral materials come together to duplicate the qualities of spices. The opening is floral and fruity and the dry down mellows out to a floral musk. For me, this is my Christmas scent and has been for the past two years. I'm a major fan.

Fresh warm spicy opening. Neroli gives it a clean girl approach that contrasts to the boozy background, almost like a well-aged rum. Not too sweet, however, but some of the sweetness is provided by the oranges and white florals. Transforms quickly on my skin and starts showing my natural powdery scent really fast, which is disappointing as someone who is trying to find non-powdery scents. A pleasantly christmasy scent which lives up to its marketing, but also versatile for just about any comfy occasion, making it worthwhile to buy. Sits intimately as a white floral musk with the apricot note, which is timeless. Smells like the warm, conviviality of a Colombian Christmas Novena celebration, with wine, music, and the fireplace on.

Noel au Balcon is the christmas perfume you thought you didn't need. It opens up with a very rich and photorealistic, thick honey accompanied by warm spicy cinnamon and sweet mandarin. It almost reminds me of the Glühwein I used to drink from street Vendors in Berlin. The first hours these notes are prominent, in the drydown you sense the warm cummin and soft vanilla that really ties this fragrance together. It's non-linear (like all ELDO's are imo) and very high quality. The well known Antoine Maisondieu made this a masterpiece! The only negative I have to say is that the longevity isn't great. At this pricepoint it should be. Unfortunately I only get around five hours. I haven't tried it on clothes yet though.

Everything I desired in a scent for the changing seasons and the fall is in this perfume. I discovered that wearing it makes me feel appealing and friendly, not necessarily sexy, the kind of warm person who has the energy to be open and present with a large number of people. It unmistakably smells like the exciting portion of the cooler months. It has a distinct spicy vibe, is quite vivacious, and isn't at all cloying. I kept reapplying and smelled myself all night because it is so simple to wear. Although it has considerable lasting power, this kind of product eventually needs to be applied again. Overall, it is a spiced apricot with honey that tastes quite realistic. Love it!

I sampled this years ago and wasn't impressed. It was a sweet, candied white floral, nothing lending itself to the holidays. Then I spent a Christmas somewhere where it rarely snows, and it clicked. I guess I wanted pine trees and spice-scented candles, and this isn't it. The cinnamon and chili play off each other to lend warmth, the vanilla-d honey and orange blossom are baked confections fresh from the oven, while the soft musk and patchouli in the base anchor it to a warm skin scent wrapped up in a too-fluffy sweater. In a world where I own many decants and few full bottles, this a rare full bottle purchase, ensuring a signature holiday scent for years to come.

Well, now... who is this enchanting thing? I recieved this in a care package from a friend earlier this year and somehow hadn't tried til this evening. I'm in love! I'm not exactly sure how to describe the overall scent; it smells like a hug from a wealthy family member. The scent of someone walking down the street in a smart outfit on a winter evening. All I can say is that I'd love to leave a scent trail like that, leave someone turning their head and wondering what that gorgeous aroma is. The middle note of chilli is quite detectable up close, I must say. If that is what it is. Made me sneeze a bit. 😂

It always surprises me how a fragrance can be received so differently by different people. To be absolutely clear, I love this fragrance! No doubts whatsoever, but on me I don't get honey - my opening forward is a perfect Christmas bright, spicy, sparkling orange scent. As it dries down, the strength of orange spice fades (but does not go) and the vanilla and florals start to peek through. Eventually it rounds out into a sublime, comforting cuddle of a scent. If you are a fan of Christmas spicy scents this one is definitely worth a sample!

Warm scent,sweet and special. I love the cinnamon that combines well with the other notes, especially with honey and apricot... after a few minutes begins to turn into something magical. I also feel the chili but not too much, there is in some way as well as orange blossom in the distance.... it is a nice spicy and sweet perfume at the same time. The part I like most is the drydown! The sillage is soft longevity average. I'm happy for my purchase! Sillage: 6./10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This was the first niche fragrance I got. I love wearing it, it's super calming and comforting. When I first tried it out, it gave the impression of a spring perfume, because the orange blossom accord is strong. But the more I wear it, the more I see it as a winter/fall perfume. It starts sweet, calming, honey with a slight cinnamon and apricot, then the orange blossom blooms and it dominates the scent profile. It's super intimate, people can barely smell it on you. Interesting, but quite simple scent.

Gorgeous. I get a lot of spiced, honeyed orange blossom. A bit reminiscent of Elie Saab Le Parfum, but with prominent cinnamon and chili pepper. Orange blossom fragrances are usually associated with spring and summer but this is so beautiful for fall/winter. Honestly, though, I think it is versatile enough to wear year round. This, La Fin du Monde and Remarkable People are my favorites from ELDO. Not sure how it performs on hot days, but I’m sure it would be beautiful on a moderately warm day.

Spiced cherries, wine, and fresh winter balcony air during the first half of wear. Very stunning and unusual. Reminds me of a Christmas holiday party with people out on the veranda wearing swanky burgundy sequin dresses and bow ties. Part two smells like saliva and certain parts of the female anatomy. I really enjoy this fragrance but can't think of any occasion to wear it...except maybe to a Christmas party where I want everyone to think I just made out with someone in the bathroom.

ELDO continues to pleasantly surprise me. I’m on the fence about peach notes (they’re either heavenly or a scrubber, no in-between) but the apricot in this is beautiful. In the drydown, it gives mulled cider in front of the fireplace (what I wanted from Martin Margiela but got singed arm hair instead), although not in a photorealistic way, in a classy, grown-up-perfume way. It’s my long-awaited modern dupe of Lancôme Poême, rip.

This one is such a warm, cozy fall/winter type of scent. It has a warm, honey-cinnamon, fruit type of scent that makes you think of baked goods. There's a little sweetness, but it's not overbearing. The apricot blends well with the honey, and the citrus gives it a bit of freshness. As simplistic as the description sounds, I'm madly in love with it! My little decant is quickly shrinking, so onto my to-purchase list it goes!

This is THE perfect Christmas spirit scent. I've tested some of Christmas markets or Christmas bakery scent, but nothing really caught my attention until THIS. You get the spicy orange, covered with cinnamon and honey. I Believe I feel a bit of cloves as well, you know this Christmas blend of Spices for glintwine? This is it. SO yammy, but with a stake. I am sure even a man can pull this off. Look no further.

Listen I loved this fragrance, but I do not Christmas/Noel from it at all! It feels more like being at a fancy high-end grocery store, walking between the flower aisle and the fresh fruits & produce aisle. Maybe my skin just amped the tangerine and pepper, but I got a wonderful savory all day scent. It might not be sweet, or reminiscent of holidays or winter, but I did like it very much for what it was.

I expected this to be a bit more 'holiday gourmand' than it was, but even though it failed to meet that expectation, I do still very much like it. Lots of apricot and honey in the opening, the woody notes keep it from veering off into foodie territory, and it dries down into an understated spicy skin scent. While not quite the marzipan confection I had expected, this will still get a fair share of wear.

I once bought a huge box of Etat Libe samples--their giant sampler. On first smell, this was my favourite out of the whole box but I wasn't interested enough to keep wearing it. I returned to this again today and am absolutely loving the spicy, warm, orange blossomy scent. This is like ginger cinnamon cookies with chilli and orange peel. It is so inviting!

Love at first spray. Just the right amount of sweet and spicy, which trade off and mix in floral and tart scents throughout the 5-6 hour drydown. I don't get the very narrow Christmas vibe others get because it doesn't have the pine fragrance that screams Christmas to me. This is a bright, warm fragrance perfect for all of fall and winter.

'Noel au Balcon' is a beautiful, comforting scent that reminds me of childhood winter holidays. I get spicy and powdery orange blossom with a faint hint of sweet apricots. I don't detect honey at all, but this is like smelling a Christmas memory: Magical.

Smells like gingerbread, with wafts of vanilla and labdanum here and there. Nice scent, it has quite a good projection if I spray liberally. On the skin, it lasts for a few hours, but on clothes, the next day it is still there.

I just love them SO much. All I can smell is hot, spiced tea with lemon and honey and a little rum. I never thought that this type of fragrance would be something I could wear every day but here I am.

Some honey with light spices and then dries down to a lovely soft and light floral base from the vanilla and patchouli. Really nice unisex scent and one of my favourites from ELDO

Got a sample of this and it was love at first sniff. This is the second fragrance from ELDO that I’ve smelled (the other being The Ghost In The Shell) and so far, I’m really liking what the house has to offer! I feel like this is one of ELDO’s less popular offerings, and I don’t know why cause this scent is truly stunning. Noel au Balcon is supposed to be a warm spicy scent for the holidays, given the name and the scent itself. However, I think the orange blossom and apricot in this fragrance really give it a spring / summer vibe that’s very inviting and addictive. I am learning that I’m a big fan of honey / beeswax in fragrances, so I was happy to learn this had honey it in after looking up the notes. Noel is sweet, SPICY, bright, sparkling, and mildly floral. I would say this fits in the gourmand-floral category as it’s not 100% edible, but it’s not overwhelmingly floral. And I adore how spicy the combo of cinnamon, chili pepper, and caraway make the scent, from opening to the dry down. As sweet as this scent is, it’s not on a sickening or nauseating level at all. It has a very refined and tamed sweetness, that gives away a bit as it dries down and lets the base notes come through more. I don’t usually experience “love at first sniffs” very often, so I am pleasantly surprised with this one. I can’t speak to longevity just yet, but the sillage on this is wonderful. Fragrantica states that this is for women but I could definitely (and happily) smell this on a man or anyone really. It’s a scent that evokes joy and happiness. Edit: I’m wearing my sample today (May 1, 2023) and while I LOVE how this smells, the performance isn’t all the way there for me. The sillage is present for the first hour and then totally gone after that. Longevity is above average, but I really need to press my nose to my skin to smell it. :( I did order a full bottle but I think I’ll have to decide if I want to keep it or send it back.

A green, forest-scented Christmas tree decorated with gold and red baubles sparkles in the living room. Table with 12 dishes( like is common there where I grew up) already prepared and set up. In the kitchen, an apricot cake with honey is also baked, a mother's specialty that she likes to introduce on this special evening once a year. The whole house smells of fresh cinnamon and spices. In the background someone is humming softly polish carols. Noel du Balcon is the scent of Christmas. The smell of warmth, colorful Christmas lights, spices, and sweet (but not oversweet) honey. This is how the day smells when snowflakes slowly and lazily fall outside the window and the noise of the street seems to stop like in some kind of Andersen ́s winter fairytales. Peace of mind, warm smiles, and a magical atmosphere that doesn't ( unfortunately) happen more than once a year. There are a lot of apricots mixed with honey,but it is not that candy sweet scent like you might think thanks to cinnamon and spices. I would say that this sweetness is very balanced and even me, a person who doesn ́t choose to wear sweet fragrances is satisfied. Here the sweetness is almost balsamic, dense like amber honey. I have not encountered a scent so far where fruity notes with honey and spices would be mixed so well, which is why this composition gained my appreciation. It is an extremely comfortable scent which warms you up like a warm sweater on a winter evening. I feel a little bit of Botrytis here, but Noel is definitely better. I would like to smell this on my skin on Christmas evening.

Several months ago I bought an ELdO discovery pack of samples and worked my way through it, sampling and taking notes; I thought (like many others, as it turns out) that Noel was reminiscent of cooked apricot jam -- or glaze, as on French patisserie -- but otherwise I was underwhelmed. I returned to it today and was much more impressed. I would be happy to be corrected, but I think NaB is probably unique in being a femme tobacco frag. Yes, it features honey, apricot, cinnamon and vanilla, but the key impression is a richer, more herbal grassy sweetness, like freshly-rubbed pipe-tobacco .. . and yet ... it's a femme. It's unusual, intriguing, and seductive (it smells much better on skin that on paper). So many of ELdO's frags trade on a certain kind of evocative, edgy grubbiness -- the scent of urban interiors -- hotels, casinos, bars -- with traces of cigarette smoke, spilled coffee, carpets and bedding stained with rum, coke, smeared make-up, and bodies that have 'freshened up' with a spritz of scent in preference to a turn through the shower. Sometimes this trick works, other times it feels a little blunt. I'm happy to report that, in the case of NaB, it works out just fine: an eccentric businesswoman invites you up to her Vegas hotel penthouse and -- against all the odds -- you don't end up in an episode of CSI.

I am officially enamoured of Etat Libre scents. I got five in one shopping spree on a very good deal this being one of the darlings! I can see where other reviewers got the festive sense from this perfume. It's dazzling fairy lights flickering in a cosy rosy room brimming with joy and laughter. The honey flaked with cinnamon, dashed with caraway seeds and with the juice of oranges completed with a garnish of orange blossoms. It's not a Christmas advert though in my opinion and great for everyday wear when you want a spring in your step. A beautifully rich and smooth composition. Well done!! Please do try it!! In the drydown, I get lovely soothing orange blossoms all the way, it's like a hot mug of honeyed water that mom added some citrus to. Not too tart, not too sweet, just wonderfully soothing. I have to add that the scent stays rather close in the drydown and lasted on clothes for about 8 hours.

Noel au balcón is overall very very sweet. For me the most prominent note is the honey. I get the honey from the begining to the end. But this honey is very spicy, mixed with the cinnamon and the pepper. The Orange blossom gives a floral dirty vibe and in the background a soft, musk and vanilla, but very subtle as in most eldo perfumes. I am not able to get really the fruits, maybe a bit the mandarine. The performance is average. More or less good longevity but soft sillage. I think is unisex because It is dirty and a bit dark even when It is very sweet and floral. I think this perfume is better for cold weather and would say even for night. I associate this perfume with either celebrating Christmas outdoors in a warm climate or a person called Noël who wears a fragrance with delicious spices, standing on a balcony surrounded by fragrant spring blossom. Either way, the spices emerge immediately after spraying, surrounded by a fresh aura, representing the balcony or outdoor atmosphere. Honeyed orange flowers appear later during drydown, creating a lovely balance of flower and spice accords. Even though I can clearly smell the honey, the fragrance never goes into an overly sweet territory thanks to the spices. Overall a solid fragrance that is much more versatile than its name suggests.

This is undoubtedly a Christmas perfume to my nose. It is so spicy and warm that it immediately makes me think of the Holiday Season. I typically like to layer this over some kind of vanilla body lotion, and it ends up smelling even MORE festive to me. It's a fragrance that definitely gives me happy vibes. It's not my utmost favorite to wear during Christmastime (that title goes to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, personally), but I do enjoy wearing this quite a lot. This stuff lasts a long time on me as well, and its sillage is impressive too. I wouldn't dare to wear this during any time of the year other than Winter, personally.

The description of Etat Libre d'Orange's Noel Au Balcon promises a sensual, naughty experience; however, this juice is G-rated. The sweet cinnamon and ginger opening develops into a powdery finish of tonka bean and patchouli. After about 10 minutes on my skin, creamy sandalwood and cotton candy is also detected. The warm familiarity of Noel Au Balcon is reminiscent of a childhood birthday party after the candles have been blown out: candle wax melting on a cloud of vanilla buttercream frosting, while a gentle whisper of smoke lingers in the air. Silage is average; longevity is about 3 hours. Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Noel au Balcon by Etat Libre d`Orange basically shoves a bunch of honey and orange blossom up your nose and then jack hammers until your brain hurts. I like it. There is a little spice along with some animalic naughtiness, and I would put NaB in the same category as Narciso Rodriguez for Her; it’s very sweet and suggestive. Perhaps “skank for beginners” is another appropriate category. 3/5 Edit: I just read a review that pointed out NaB smells like a scented candle; unfortunately, I agree with this assessment and now the pleasant aroma has transitioned from fine fragrance to holiday fart camouflage.

I just received this only yesterday. Tried it last night, tried it again in the morning to be sure of the consistency of my thoughts. It it a sweet, slightly tingly on the top of my nose from the pepper, white floral. Not a Christmas, not even a cold weather one for me. It gives me goosebumps and reminds me of springs from my childhood, with vanilla and cinnamon pie on the table, and a big bouquet of Lilly of the Valley in a vase next to it, but more grown-up. Not what I expected, but suuuuch a nice nostalgic one! Cosy, slightly warm, inviting, nostalgic, bright, joyful, cuddle scent.

The third Christmas perfume in my collection and this is the sweetest of them. Tobacco Vanille Tom Ford - alcoholic glögg with dried fruits, Pomegranate Noir Jo Malone London - sour pomegranate non-alcoholic glögg, Noel au Balcon Etat Libre d'Orange - very sweet, non-alcoholic orange glögg with a lot of honey and cinnamon. This perfume could be my favorite for winter, but I can clearly smell the floral notes here and this spoils the impression for me a little bit. I associate Christmas with cinnamon, oranges and spruce, but not with flowers.

Io ho una boccetta del 2014 ancora bella della formula originale e devo dire che è molto bella. Colore dorato caldo arancio intenso, profumo rotondo,caldo, voluttuoso, non ci sono note aspre o agrumi, è un buquet dolce e tondo,miele,cannella,peperoncino rosso, tutto uniforme e senza spigoli. Non mi evoca il natale ma qualcosa di bello e luminoso,caldo, che potrebbe somigliare a una pallina dorata dell'albero.

I would say that this is strictly for females. I orders a bunch of samples and thought it would be unisex but I was wrong. It's a warm spicy scent almost landing in gourmand territory but falling a bit short. The pepper gives it spice along with the caraway that keeps it from being too sweet but still feminine. I am surprised that it is not more popular but I guess most folks see ELDO creations as strange so they shy away from them. I like it myself, but would buy a bottle only for a female.

At first I get a strong unpleasant indolic note from the orange blossom, and that is almost a firm dealbreaker. But after it fades into the background, I smell sweet, lightly spiced, honeyed fruits, with a splash of orange blossom water. It really does smell like some kind of exotic fragrant dessert. For cold weather only though, it's much too sweet for me to be able to tolerate in warm weather. Perfect for cold holiday season nights though. It makes me think "sugarplums".

Apricots stewed in honey, made peppery with chilli and cinnamon over homemade ice cream, flecked with vanilla bean. I imagine this served at a hole in the wall dessert bar where the wait time to be seated exceeds fifteen minutes, and is most likely known for its vegan offerings. Its furnishings have leapt straight from a Pinterest board of collected interiors. The restroom soaps are musky, floral and boutique, and your date is clad in vintage leather.
