Remarkable People

That is exactly how bright utopian future of all civilized mankind would probably smell like. I kid you not guys. What makes this perfume really different is that I cannot recognize any exact or even distinctive connection to any familiar component, still it smells essentially natural and very well corresponding with advanced human societies. So if there is a limitation for me to carry only one perfume to my luxurious spaceship cabin... and there is no guarantee to come back... Then I am taking this frag to be always delighted with what we yet to achieve instead of having destructive nostalgias of what we lose. Perhaps I am that much an exalter after receiving a dozen of earnest compliments from different people of different ages and agendas. Btw no single person tried to guess notes. Well, my ex-wife told me that it reminds her of well-know Nina Ricci perfume, but she didn't recall which exact one. Others I meet are usually just happy to mention that I smell good and new. Unfortunately, this scientific juice of glory disappears as if never existed on the third hour both from the skin and from the hair. Anyhow, two hours is usually quite a long period to conquer any type of audience. Overall, this perfume is super social and shiny, moderately intense. It radiates with a very remarkable and positive vibe. I really like this fragrance! I don't like much that Etat Libre put out to be honest with you, but this is certainly an exception. There is something to this particular fragrance that makes me keep coming back to it, and I intend to by a full bottle one day (Time will tell, it's been three years since I started saying that lol) On paper I really didn't find it to be particularly exciting, and found it to be rather plain. On skin it really takes on this effervescent quality with a lovely grapefruit. It is sweet, but not cloyingly so. This is not a fragrance I would usually like, but something about it's composition makes me like it. It's like a non-alcoholic champagne smell, sparkling and clean and very fruity. I really only wear this on New Years Eve, I have three little sample bottles. It's very pleasant and everyone that smells it seems to like it, or at least tolerate it. I think this is very nice, and I like this a lot. Get a sample of it for sure, you may really like it like I do. Or you may hate it, which is your prerogative. Overall, very nice. A little overpriced for sure, which is why I have been waiting for years to find it for a good price (I'm sure eventually it will be discontinued, and then I will be sad) but I like it. It is a little plain, but man it just makes me happy. Get a sample if you want to. If this was a song it'd be Ruby Sees All by Cake.

The ultimate fizzy, feel-good summer fragrance. Remarkable People was an instant favorite from the moment I first sprayed it. The opening is a fantastic, fizzy, and bubbly citrus experience that feels remarkably upbeat. It’s not just another citrus scent; there is a certain "sparkle" to the opening that really sets it apart. After wearing this properly on my skin, my rating remains a solid 10/10. It is a masterclass in joyful, outgoing summer perfumery. The champagne note is genuinely impressive—it provides a realistic, effervescent fizz that lifts the smooth grapefruit and cardamom notes perfectly. The background sweetness is perfectly dosed, which keeps the scent rounded and inviting without ever becoming cloying. If you’re looking for a scent for social events, celebrations, or just a day when you want to feel uplifted, this is an absolute go-to. It’s officially earned a permanent spot in my summer rotation. Note: I don't actually own this fragrance; I am writing this review based on my experience with the official Etat Libre d'Orange discovery set.

I love this scent -- LOVE. Firstly, it reminded me of the deodorant I used in high school -- Lynx Inca -- it doesn't just smell 'like' Inca, it IS Inca, at least to me. The messy champagne note, intermingling with the citrus and spice is AMAZING. Love it, absolutely LOVE IT. It works on SOOO many levels -- it's niche-ish summer scent, it works as a subtle mood enhancer (for me) and it works EXCELLENTLY as a bridge between designer/mainstream scents and niche scents. I bought my 3x 30 ml bottles from Lucky Scent, when I originally wanted a 100 ml bottle, which for some reason, was 20 - 30% more than the $ / ml valuation against the 30 ml bottles. Also, being only a 30 ml bottle (3 of them), I only had to pay 'sample' postage rates to Hong Kong (where I lived when I got them), saving myself EVEN more. Win-win. I've gone through one of those bottles already, and I'm putting a decent dint into the 2nd one this summer. I am so glad I found this scent -- I truly TRULY love it...

This fragrance is such a weird one for me. Let me explain how it ended up a love. I don't really understand what's going on with this frag, as when you read other people comments it sounds completely different every time. But for me I don't get any of that, I feel like I'm getting everything the note breakdown says to expect. The opening is amazing to me, the champagne and grapefruit is definitely right there, sparkling in the air, the cardamom right behind it. On dry down it sweetens up as the champagne fades and you start to get the spices and woods come through. Obviously, everybody's opinion is correct because perfume is a personal preference at the end of the day. That being said unfortunately the performance reviews are generally spot-on. I get about 5 hours and its an arms reach scent at best, but that won't be putting me off especially as I can get a full bottle for £50 or less. If you like how this sounds, get a sample, if you're anything like me you'll love it.

When I was a child, there was a tiny bottle of Nina Ricci Les Belles - Délice d'Épices lying around at home. I kept smelling it all the time—the fragrance was magical, and so was the bottle. For years I searched for what it might have been, until I stumbled upon Remarkable People, which most people compared it to. That’s how I finally tracked it down, but since it hasn’t been produced for years, I couldn’t smell it again. So I rushed to test Remarkable People, and after half an hour or so it really does bear an uncanny resemblance to the scent I remember (not by chance, since both were created by Cécile Matton). But I already love it from the very first spray: the sparkling champagne opening is exciting and chic. I know very few fragrances that feel just as perfect on a buzzing, adventurous summer night out as they do on a quiet, introspective rainy afternoon. For me, this perfume is exactly that.✨ On my skin it lasts well, though it stays closer to the skin.

You can find it at some great prices online at discounters , i did , i was curious about the champagne note and what a nice surprise , it became one of the best "feel good" fragrances i have , it has a strange effect on me especialy if its mildly hot outside , it gives me a sense of refreshment but its not just like cold , its actually refreshing , like drinking something refreshing juicy with a little citrus and with a unique smell , its awesome , i wore a few times outside but never got that many attention , and still i dont care , the price its good enough to where you can wear this for yourself for mood and morale bosting and i still think its worth it , i recommend it a lot to those who are fans of fresh citruses , its a little twist that i think will be appreciated by many (if possible try before buying as always)

This is a weird one and I say it in a good way. I had to keep spraying my tester strip to really smell it. It’s actually really nice. It smells like if you just bought something brand new fresh? Kind of almost like fresh plastic but I’m not saying that in a bad way. lol it’s like the fragrance is there but it’s not there... it’s really airy fizzy and very slight touch of bitter citrus which I’m guessing is the champagne part of it ? Idk lol ... of course citrus is pretty much the main but the way it’s coming off is unique to me..As I’m typing this I’m smelling it and enjoying it more and more. I’m in a controlled temperature room with the AC on so I’ll have to see how it smells outside in the hot humid weather which honestly I’m sure is going to be really good.

I bought an official sample online without smelling it in person beforehand. After spraying, it smells strongly like grapefruit, but very little to no smell of champagne. Maybe because I don't know how champagne really smells like 👀. I let it sit for a bit, and after like maybe 5 minutes I smell it again and it smells like gingerbread! I asked my sister to smell it, she said it didn't smell like that, but it does to me. I searched it up, cardamom is used sometimes in gingerbread, so maybe it's the cardamom. Smells cozy tho, but the grapefruit smell doesn't last long. Maybe I'll change my mind after longer use.

A hot summer day, the air is standing still. Suddenly a breeze from the small lake separating small farmlands from the forest brings a cool refreshing facet to the landscape. On the same time I can hear soft, far away voices from a small beach between the reeds where people seek refuge from the busy city life. This is where Remarkable People takes me. The opening Champagne - grapefruit chord is to me so refreshing and so summery. Fortunately this chord is still mildly present in the dry down where Sandalwood and Labdanum embed it in a soft and warm woodiness. To me Remarkable People is summer at its best!

Oh my god, this is not at all what I was expecting, but I love it! I thought I'd be getting a bright, sparkling citrus, but this is a soft, comforting scent. It leans slightly masculine, but in the same way as Father Figure by Phlur, in that it smells like fond memories of a loved one. I do get the grapefruit, but it is not sharp or bitter, and blends beautifully with the warmer spices. It's cozy and fresh, just beautiful. If you're looking for a pronounced, feminine champagne note, check out Melrose Place by Ouai instead. Even if you're not a rose lover.

It IS a bit like Xerjoff's XV 1722, but I think this one is nicer! a bit less fizzy and less citrusy. Softer, rounder. Cardamom (my favorite note) is too weak here for my taste (as usual, in my experience), but definitely present, giving this a dessert-like aroma, like pastry or lokum (turkish delight) or oriental tea. Spicy and fresh. However, performance feels abysmal. Zero projection. What a shame. Like a great song you recognize comes on the radio, but the volume is set to 2 out of 50 and you can't turn it up because the radio is broken.

Such a unique but comforting scent. I sprayed this 18 hours ago and theres still a trace of it on my skin. It's intriguing, attractive, and bright. I think it's better suited to a night out in early autumn than an everyday scent, but I wouldn't mind smelling this all day every day. To me the woody-amber-citrus stands out far more than warm spicy, which is definitely present in the top note but dissipates quickly. Very unisex, if i had to choose I think this would be best suited to a masc-leaning person of any age.

juicy and fresh grapefruit spiced with cardamom and sliced to be put upon the rims of sparkling champagne glasses during a spring brunch. Then comes in the aromatic black pepper with a piney green curry tree and light, airy jasmine. The dry down is an ambery sandalwood musk with fizzy and fresh remnants from the champagne. Really loved this one *after wearing a few times the projection is very close to skin and the longevity is 2-3 hrs which makes this feel incredibly overpriced. Lovely scent just bad performance.

The champagne really does hit you. This fragrance is such a wonderful, sweet yet not too cloying summer go-to, and it’s a shame it doesn’t perform very nicely. It lasts okay, and it does elicit a good amount of compliments, but the sheer beauty of this perfume really does make it worth buying. The cardamom and grapefruit are so... for a lack of a better term, juicy together. They splash in your face and suddenly it’s the new year. Afterwards it’s nothing but sweet relaxation until it fades.

I expected to like this and i loved it! It has this kinda sharp cocktail quality in a great way, and very grapefruit forward which i like a lot, and it also adds to the cocktail vibes. This is a true unisex scent for almost every weather, and for celebrating something in a nice restaurant's bar, drinking a negroni and having a laugh with your friends, sharing nostalgic memories. I get why for some people it can be a little metallic or too mineral but for me this is perfect.

Oh my gosh this is SO GOOD! I only have a sample but I know I'll have to get the full bottle, now. There is no way back from this. I haven't smelled something this good in a long time. It is almost addicting I have to keep sniffing my wrist because I just can't get enough. Definitely not too long lasting which is a shame. But this gives pure joy, sun, celebration, good time ohhh just wonderful! I haven't been smitten with a fragrance like this in a looooong time.

My first niche perfume. I am on second bottle since I got it first 9 years ago. It was love on first sniff. Opens up with fresh, sparkling champange and grapefruit. Drydown on me it is cardamom, curry leaf and peppery sandalwood. Labdanum is very light in this composition. Refreshing spicy would be the better term to describe it instead of warm spicy. On me it actually lasts good 8h. I had 1 spray over 6hrs ago and I can still smell it full blast.

Sunny, bubbly fresh but warm scent that the cool outgoing girl sipping on Prosecco in a summer dress in an outside party would wear. Gorgeous, super wearable, might splurge on a full bottle. It's not the woody fragrance for wood lovers, but rather a fruity fragrance for wood lovers. The cardamom is very delicate here, you really smell the grapefruit and champagne at first sniff. The jasmin is fresh, and not indolent.

For the first 3 hours I was in love. Juicy grapefruit, the refreshing champagne, everything was just so so good and beautifully blended, it made me happy!. And then poof! It was all gone. Suuuuch a shame that it just doesn't last. I was ready to pull the trigger on a full bottle not even after a full day. If it wasn't on the pricier side, I may have done it anyway. Oh well, I will savor my sample at least.

Initial spritz is quite an astringent citrus but settles into a very invigorating and bright fruity scent. This fizzy sharpness gives way to a softer, powdery, wood sweet perfume. This is very summer coded and smells like joy! Citruses might be my least favourite scent category but I do love grapefruit (to eat). I might go so far as to say this may be one of the best citrus fragrances I have smelled.

How amazing! Sorry for the comparism but this is a category better and category cheaper than Silver Musk. It has a story but the same beautiful drydown to that musky powdery cleanness scent. The opening is soo sparkling, truly champage-y, fizzy, citric, playful. Made me to smile. Really unique opening yet super friendly and not offensive by any means. I was surprised it has a score lower than 4 here.

With every popular fragrance being either hyper-masculine or hyper-feminine, this one stands out as being a true unisex creation. In the same sense you won't smell like the opposite gender either. Friendly and playful. In my personal opinion this is a great choice if you want to stand out from the crowd. If you are comfortable with not smelling like James Bond or Barbie, this is a great buy.

Like the nostalgic memory of a Summer holiday's brunch with a pitchers of mimosas and all your friends. Reminds me of the the colors peachy-orange yellow pink. Although it's technically unisex, i found it leans definitely more fem then masc. I think it smells wimpy on men. Lighthearted bright, slightly warm, fun, and informal. Best for warmer weather and day use.

Grapefruit, immediately. Then you smell the pepper. And then the jasmine. Clean, soapy (in the best way), and calming. For some reason, I'm reminded of Connecticut. My childhood best friend's all-white living room and the sight of her ever-welcoming mother on the sofa, wrapped in a plush cashmere shawl. How I wished to become her when I grew older.

One of the best things I’ve put my nose on in probably a year. Candied grapefruit that never becomes too sweet, balanced by an invigorating champagne note and cardamom done in perfect proportion. There’s just enough black pepper to keep things grounded and to prevent you from floating off into space. Simply put, this smells like happiness.

Instant champagne! Like popping off a cork and champagne exploding into the air, but within a minute it's gone. Spicy grapefruit to follow, sweet and citrusy. Would be beautiful in the spring and summer but equally can cut through cold weather like a knife. A perfect unisex, well made and thought out

cozy, effervescent, addictive, transcendent. I first smelled this about a year and a half ago and, oh my God, this is one of my all-time favorite scents. I huff it like a freak whenever I wear it, I can't stop. the performance is absolutely tragically bad, but it's the best quickie you'll ever have.

The champagne, curry tree, and sandalwood conspire beautifully with the citrus and pepper to deliver such a cozy vibe about it. I really love wearing it. I just wish it had the performance some other ELdOs have. Real party host vibes. Sociable and charismatic, but warm and familiar.

This is a show stopper for me, I am only sorry I have tested only on paper card. Will update when tested on skin. Beautiful just beautiful. Update: I am wearing it on my skin now and oh my god, remarkable it is. Sparkly, worm, very unisex, but utterly addictive. On my wishlist.

Remarkable People is a lovely uplifting citrus. The title of the fragrance describes it well. I imagine this scent complementing a morning person who's focused on an ambitious work project from the first minutes of a day. The champagne note associates with success and winning.

This scent is absolutely beautiful. I mainly get grapefruit, cardamom and jasmine in a sour, spicy & sweet concoction. It's fresh and light, with a bit of sofistication from the spices. I'll definitely get a full size bottle of this for winter. Safe blind buy for sure!

I wore this on NYE and I could smell it on my coat afterwards for at least a week. It just screams champagne and spices. I get an orange juice vibe as well. It’s like wearing a fancy cocktail. I love it for an evening scent even though it appears many disagree.

I mostly get citrus peel and sandalwood on this one, with just a hint of champagne bubbles. This smells very close to an aftershave my dad used in the early 2000s. It reminds me of hugging him when he left for a business trip.

Fantasticcally complex citrus scent, very unisex, awesome. Probably my favorite ELDO so far, up there with Fat Electrician. Seems like it would wear well in practically any situation, great as a signature scent.

Right up there with I am Trash. Citrus champagne opening and a woody slightly spicy dry down. Got good longevity out of it, and the sillage is decent. Love that the top notes linger for quite a while on my skin.

I somehow snagged a 50ml for 36usd and i am so glad I did! This is wonderful. A very sexy and sensual citrus. It dries down very sandalwood-y and sweet on me. Perfect scent for hot summer sunsets.

Such a unique perfume, definitely not a common DNA. It's super comforting yet refreshing at the same time. I love layering it with a vanilla fragrance to add a sweeter, more feminine touch.

When I say I would trade everything to have this last longer and project better on me I mean I would trade EVERYTHING this smells amazing but it just doesn’t preform well in my skin 😞😞😞

Aers Etat Libre d'Orange Advent Calendar I bought the ELdO discovery set and made it my advent calendar. I'll try to post a review every day in the order the samples are in the set. Day 12 - Remarkable People This one was a lot of fun and I find myself going back to food analogies a lot again here as I did a few times in the last days. Not sure if that's something specific to ELdO or my head and nose. In any case, this one starts off strong and celebratory to dry down fast and the only thing I have to bemoan here is the longevity which really wasn't up there in terms of what I had hoped for. The perfume starts hitting you with a bunch of bitter citrus notes and what is described as champagne. It's a bright bang of an opening, very much fitting the theme here. There's zest, the nice kind of bitterness, some very well-behaved fruitiness. It's as if you've mixed sparkling wine with sweet grapefruit juice and served that to the wearer. It's easy to enjoy at this point and a scent that feels like it's designed to make you happy and get you into a good mood. Soon enough, the first top notes faded and there and then, something interesting happened to me. The bitterness subsided for the most part and the sweet notes of the cardamom and the labdanum took over and here we go with more food ideas in my nose. I don't know if it's because of the Christmas season or because of something the fragrance does by itself, but I felt like I put my head over an arrangement of Christmas treats: gingerbread, honeycake, tangerine. The comfortable, warm, honeyed, ambery kind of treats and then the citrus fruit somewhere in there. I felt like Santa at this point. And I loved it. Right up there for a cold winter day, 12 days away from Christmas itself. This stayed with me for quite a while. The sweet and ever so slightly bitter, zesty notes played with each other here and there but mostly, the labdanum and cardamom were the stars of the show and made for a very comfortable, seasonally appropriate kind of smell on my wrist. Only to then fade quicker than I anticipated. After 4 hours, the smell was mostly gone from my wrist. I reapplied it later today only to not find much anymore after another 5 hours. And that's just not very long, sadly. Again, appropriate clarification: I sprayed two tester sprays on my wrist, this might change if you apply more of it onto your neck, but still... in comparison to other perfumes, the endurance of Remarkable People just wasn't up there, neither was the projection. It became a skin scent very early in its drydown and that's a bit sad. The upside here: It's a joy to reapply, because you get that popping start again, which is very fun to relive. I like it. The opening and the drydown have little to do with each other but both are fantastic in their own right. It's a happy scent. It's a comfortable scent. It's a very Christmassy scent. And it's a fleeting scent. Starts like a popped bottle of sparkling wine that is emptied fast, and ends up like a bunch of Christmas treats, which are eaten fast. Guess we need more of it for a bigger feast. It's great to get you into a good mood during cold days. Edit as of January 2024: I have just sampled Xerjoffs Golden Moka. And I cannot help but smell the exact same in Golden Moka as in Remarkable People. Christmas-Treat Labdanum-Cardamom with Citrus on Top. It smells just the same, the variation is only minor, if at all.

Bright, sparkling champagne, woods, and spices. Personal: 7/10 – Pleasant and bright, and I can enjoy fruity champagne, but I find it a bit boring, honestly. Not something I'd often come back to. Mass appeal: 8/10 – Bright citrus and light effervescence are crowd-pleasers. Performance: 6.5/10 – Starts strong with the bubbly citrus sparkle, but it fades into a softer woody base that doesn’t last very long. Value: 6/10 – ELDO pricing is fine, but the DNA doesn’t feel different enough to justify it. That said, it's hard to find high quality champagne scents. Uniqueness: 7/10 – The champagne sparkle effect is fun, but overall it’s still a citrus-fresh scent, and that territory is crowded. Points for champagne, though. SCORE: 69/100 Full bottle buy? NO, I enjoy it but I wouldn't wear it frequently. Blind buy? YES, it’s safe, bright, and friendly enough that most would enjoy it. Recommend? YES, it's an approachable, everyday ELDO fragrance that isn’t weird, compared to their other offerings. Date night? YES, casual and playful, though not seductive or heavy-hitting. Office safe? YES, bright, clean, and inoffensive. Perfectly suited to office wear. Pros: Uplifting champagne-citrus sparkle, very wearable, playful in nature. Cons: Mediocre performance, not very unique, doesn’t justify niche pricing. Remarkable People is ELDO at their most playful and wearable. It opens with a sparkling champagne-citrus accord that feels lively and fun, then dries into a softer woody-musky base. You could totally wear this as a daily fragrance, and it's pretty versatile in the seasons, though may be a bit light for cold winter wear. That said, this is one of the more appealing fragrances from ELDO that I would totally throw at someone who's never smelled niche before. It's almost designer-esque. Throw a big designer name on it, and I'd believe you. As such, I don't know if it warrants the typical ELDO high prices, but it certainly doesn't deserve to be thrashed like some of their other bottles. Bright, citrus, spice, and champagne. A great daily wear that's well blended and refined, if not a bit uninteresting. But for ELDO, that's okay. Review #115 in my fragrance journey – this fragrance I own as a decant

I bought a 5ml decant of this looking for a celebratory fragrance like people said this was. While I do agree and will be using it as such, I am slightly disappointed. The opening is fabulous thew grapefruit and champagne work in great harmony together. Some people say it smells like fanta and while I see where they're coming from, comparing it to that really undermines how good this actually smells. It does not smell cheap like you would imagine when you think of a 'fanta' smell. The champagne note fades after not long at all which is my main gripe with this scent I really wish it lingered. The sillage on this is also extremely poor it sits close to the skin for most of its lifetime which is unfortunate given how beautiful of a smell it is. But given its pricepoint, I think its a good deal. I would only be frustrated with this if it was charged at the same rate most niche's are but this brand is much cheaper than the others. Overall, I feel this scent had the potential to be one of my favorites but it just slightly fell short in multiple areas. That being said, I will be wearing this throughout the summer as a quick scent, something for if I'm just running out, if I know I'll be showering or swimming soon, or if I am attending an event. I rate it a 7.5/10

Got this in an ELDO discovery box Opening - the main course of this fragrance. Fresh, sweet grapefruit combined with the champagne note provides a very nostalgic feel of the smell i got as a kid from opening a fresh bottle of grapefruit Schweppes (loooong time ago when soft drinks did use actual natural ingredients). Unfortunately, the spectacular opening quickly subsides and gives way to a much less lively soft drink/sweet sparkling wine feel. Drydown - the biggest disappointment for me. I cannot even say this scent has a real drydown - the above-mentioned soft drink/sweet sparkling wine feel? It stays there with the only difference being that it becomes more and more subdued with time passing - in a way, very reminiscent of an actual soda going flat when left in the open. Woods, spices, white florals? The jasmine might be there, but it is completely lost in the other sweet accords, for the rest, not a hint. On the fence with this one - interesting, unusual and very refreshing opening gets quickly lost, and what is left is a bit too soft drink sweet for my taste. I would definitely say this is more on the feminine side of the unisex spectrum.

this is soooo delicious! I am so pleasantly impressed. upon first whiff I got a soapy, aldehydic, fruity top note. I really did not get immediate grapefruit but the citrus makes so much sense. the way this warms up is sooo amazing, like a natural fruit candy mixed with the perfect bit of clean wood. it just works so well, resulting in a delightful soft fragrance for everyday. I am surprised by the champagne note. I I typically hate alcoholic notes. here, I admit I really don't get the soda fizziness that other commenters have noted. It's very successful on my skin, so I don't understand the hate at all. It does go almost a bit vintage lotion-y after a while (in a good way), and yes I can see the sun cream vibe or the way this cooooould go "cheap" and "bath and body works", but I don't think it is to that extent yet where I would stoop it that low! defending this one - addictive, creamy, easily wearable. I've tried a lot of fragrances, the fact this stood out alone is Remarkable. I also noted these ELDO fragrances last LONG. if you can get this for a good price I recommend!
