The Ghost In The Shell

I first smelled this scent from their discovery set, and it was instantly one of my favorites. First, their discovery set is amazing. It comes with 20 sample fragrances for only $55, which is beyond generous compared to other niche houses - I wholeheartedly recommend looking into this set before purchasing a full bottle. Anyway, this scent to me really leans into a milky yuzu floral, that dries down to a pleasant clean musk. This is how the scent translates on my skin, and I adore it. Maybe I do get metallic notes, which is what makes this so intriguing to me, but it’s faint. It’s a pretty moderate fragrance, with a nice trailing sillage, so I feel it’s pretty safe for school or office settings. I would probably say wear this fragrance for you, because it’s apparently polarizing. I find this scent beautiful and one of my go to’s, but my partner honestly hates it. He says it smells like a powdery grandma scent that was used to make a public bathroom smell good. I’ve gotten positive comments from strangers while wearing this though, which leads me to believe there are people who probably detest this as well, but don’t say anything. But, isn’t that what’s great about fragrance? I find this perfume enchanting, and catch myself smelling my wrist throughout the day. Again, try the sample they send you and see how it reacts to your body chemistry before committing to a full bottle. Hopefully, you’re like me and it reacts well, because it’s beautiful if it does. In summary, it’s an enchanting, clean scent that you could wear anytime, any season. Definitely not blind buy safe, but worth the money if you’re looking for an alternative clean scent that isn’t your typical citrus/aquatic/musk.

Testing from the official sample...This is really something else. Otherwordly. I own over 600 perfumes and i sniffed a bunch along the way, but i have never smelled anything like it before. First wear, i was not sure, but hubby commented that it was nice. I had a single spray on the top of my hand, and i was wearing a heavy fume already, so i was quite unsure what exactly am i smelling there. Second wear was two sprays to the neck, and i was mesmerized. Super unique opening, and yes, i would go for a full bottle in an instant, but the thing is, it turns ultra masculine on me and real fast too. Opening lasts for about 20 minutes and it is absolutely stunning, and boom, i am left with just a scent of a mens aftershave for hours to come. If i could get that weirdo opening to stay a tad bit longer, i would have my grabby little fingers all over the full bottle. I might test it again in colder months and see if i get different results - i hope i do.The Ghost In The Shell is an odd one. Once again, as it's becoming a norm on Fragrantica, i don't understand the negative reviews. This is niche perfumery at its best, and this is as niche as it gets. I don't know where are all the old members, but i miss reading the reviews which don't mention granny, old lady, dolls heads, playdough, urine, beavers ass, or cat piss.🤔 I guess some people are sticking their noses in anything and everything that presents itself in their life and sniffing it...

I was very excited to try this one but when i smelled it on paper for the first time i didnt really think it was for me, eventho the story behind it really had me intrigued. It took me a while to figure out what i thought about this one, to me personally it starts of pretty generic and kinda synthetic, you immediatly get this slight bitter yuzu smell that reminds me of a bar of generic soap, after a little while it turns to a creamy - yuzu/soapy scent profile. with a slight note of latex? But i found the latex smell was way more pronounced on paper then on skin, on my skin its very toned down (which i enjoy more). the scent sits close to skin when it dries down a bit. The creamy note that developes does make it a bit futuristic? I think because the milk & yuzu combination. But its not very metallic as i expected. Someone said it smell like if a human was made in a factory and i do agree with that. Its not overly futuristic. But feels very modern and "new". Its smells like you just took a shower with a milky-bodywash and then go to sleep in a freshly made bed in a room that has stainless steel furniture that was just cleaned with citrus scented cleaner. Overal i really enjoy this scent. It smells unique but at the same time comforting. I started to enjoy this scent alot after wearing it a couple of times. Might pick up a full bottle soon :)

This fragrance is the best match that I’ve ever had for my skin chemistry. When I received a sample of The Ghost in the Shell through Sniph, I fell in love instantly. The composition is just exquisite—from the opening to the dry down and overall performance. The yuzu stands out beautifully alongside the skin-like notes, airy molecules, crisp white florals, and that clean, comforting soapiness. Without a doubt, this is the fragrance I’ve received the most compliments on in my life. Every single time I wear it, someone asks what perfume I’m wearing. Every. Single. Time. It’s honestly kind of crazy—especially when you read some of the reviews below mine where people compare The Ghost in the Shell to plastic, sour milk, or other things I cannot relate to at all. But I guess that’s the fascinating thing about fragrance: everyone experiences and picks up on different notes. If you’ve been considering this perfume, don’t let those comments discourage you. This scent is truly outstanding. I used to wear Gypsy Water by Byredo and considered it my holy grail, but I haven’t missed it for a single day since buying this one. If you’re unsure and don’t want to commit to a full bottle right away, it might be worth ordering a small sample or trying it in-store first. But honestly? You might be missing out on your signature scent.

What a gorgeous and unique fragrance for today. The Ghost in the Shell smells unlike anything I have worn before. In both the opening and dry down there are gorgeous floral and citrus notes but as it dries down, there’s a gorgeous creamy note that’s starts shines stronger. It is this creamy note that truly makes this fragrance great. Don’t get me wrong the almost wet flora and citrus notes are amazing but it’s the creamy note that truly elevates The Ghost in the Shell. Performance was unfortunately both amazing and slightly horrible depending on if we are discussing longevity or projection. The longevity was amazing, The Ghost in the Shell lasted just around 10 hours on my skin. A 8/10 here. The issue come up with the fairly bad projection that was a constant after the first 30 minutes of wear. It was basically a skin scent for all of its 10 hours. This feels somewhat fitting for this fragrance but I still find myself wishing it just projected slightly more. A 6/10 on projection. The Ghost in the Shell is an amazing and unique smelling fragrance that I really enjoyed wearing. The creamy base was the highlight here but it was well complimented by elegant notes of floral and citrus. A 7/10 overall!

One of my all-time favorite fragrances—simply breathtaking. The opening is a refreshing and captivating composition of sweet milk and fragrant jasmine. It immediately draws you in, enveloping the senses in a feeling of pure delight. Creamy yet floral, it’s utterly addictive, evoking a sense of clarity and softness that’s hard to get enough of. As it settles, the creamy, milky jasmine accord gently quiets down, becoming more refined and subtle—yet never disappearing. It lingers delicately in the air, radiating with remarkable softness while still remaining noticeable and intriguing. Its performance is outstanding, offering 8–10 hours of longevity with a pleasantly strong projection. In the final stage the fragrance blends beautifully into the skin, almost becoming one with it; when smelled up close a subtle skin-like note emerges within the scent itself. Overall, this is a truly special fragrance with a slightly intimate, almost sensual character. It is not overpowering, but rather soft, elegant and tender—the very embodiment of “agape.” While it may be best suited to women, it is certainly wearable for men as well. Fresh, romantic, and absolutely beautiful.

First wear review Yes this was a blind buy, no I don’t regret it, this opens up with a soapy white flower and a well blended citrus note. Most popularly compared to dove soap. - but it can also come across as almond milk / coconut milk like. . A comment I got twice is that you can literally taste this cologne. You taste the milk note more than you may smell it. -it begins to dry down to a more warm skin after the shower smell but with a metal note in the background. This phase it smells more like a new dog toy or rubber duck but in the cleanest and most creamy way. It becomes intimate fast but airy. Even when I couldn’t smell it on my hand after 6 hours I would pick up on the scent as I moved. In the air it’s beautiful and uniquely clean. I didn’t get the cyborg vibes completely but a too clean “human” playing dress up works just as well. This was 100% the fragrance I was looking for. I wanted something baby like because I use baby lotion products and it’s a specific smell that I find addicting. So they accomplished that all while being unique. + people who smelt it liked it. Pro tip- if you try any skin scent only on paper you’ll never know the fragrance.

I made an account on this website JUST so I can talk about this perfume. It opens with this bright, happy yuzu note followed by the most wonderful aldehyde punch. On my skin it pretty quickly turned into this jasmine-latex scent. A little floral but it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, and develops into this almost hypnotic, clinical scent. I smell like a rubber glove and cleaning alcohol in a tantalising way. Like you’re at the dentist and the dental assistant attending to you is wearing a clean, soapy, nondescript perfume that you can smell sometimes on top of the sterilisation around you. The dental assistant smiles as the drill bit comes closer and you feel a little less scared of what happens next. I would smell this if after having ritualistic mind melting sex with a cyborg I pushed my nose into its armpit and inhaled deeply. It’s ‘almost’ skin like. I get some silicon and burnt rubber too. I can’t stop sniffing my wrist and smiling to myself about this fragrance, and makes me crave some kind of transhumanist uprising so everyone can smell as strange, sexy and euphoric as this

I am not one for weird/unusual perfumes, but happened upon this at a niche fragrance store and couldnt help but try it on. Surprisingly despite its marketing and appearance it is very tame, it smells like a really lovely soap and very strongly accentuates the smell of your skin, and the milkiness isn't so strong on the skin (it was very "sour" and pungent from the bottle as milk is, but when I actually applied it it was more sweet and soft). On the bus ride home I couldn't help but keep smelling it on myself, I ended up quite liking it and bought a bottle. Nothing about it gives "ghost in the shell" or cyberpunk, as someone who was a huge fan of the original 1995 film and watched it multiple times, but that's exactly why I like it, it feels nice, feminine, and clean. I honestly would not call this "unisex" but I've heard it largely depends on your skin chemistry so that might just be my skin. A great everyday scent as it is quite mild, and would probably layer well with something more generic to give it a hint of uniqueness.

Ok I really enjoy this but looking at other reviews and hearing other people’s experiences with this, it seems like this smells wildly different on different people. I even tried it on a test strip first and was like, this basically smells like nothing, but then on my skin it definitely came through. For me it’s very soapy, and just slightly milky. Very very fresh right out of the shower, just applied lotion, clean skin. I don’t get much yuzu at all, but I do get some of the ozonic notes and some of floral although only very slightly. I’m looking for a “clean” scent and I think this works pretty well for that purpose for me, so I’m planning on getting a full bottle but like others mentioned, I’m glad I got a sample and tried it for myself first. It’s also pretty understated, it’s not super strong, so I think if this works for you it could be a great fragrance for like work/ school/ travel, when you don’t want to have any sort of overpowering scent

I love it At first, it smells HEAVY of Yuzu but after 30 mins or so, some of the other notes really pop. An hour later after it all dries into the skin, a really fresh almost ozonic smell with a base of those milky skin accords starts to really show. Very hard to describe but reminds me of spring time in 2006 when i was a kid and makes me really happy It might dry down to a different profile for other skin types just a heads up. Id definitely get a sample if you’re curious to try, i would recommend a 5ml+ sample size because you will definitely fall in love with it. It is very unisex and clean but its not “business casual fresh” like alot of masculine scents and if you only like “darker” stuff this one may not be up your alley (still 100% worth the try though!)

first experience with a more "niche" scent, i'm really drawn to that scifi android/inhuman aesthetic so i had to get a test vial. immediately upon spraying i was hit with that tar/rubber/plasticky note and wow. actually triggered an emotional response. like. immense sadness. i can definitely see how this is meant to evoke a cold, brutalist, scifi dystopia. it's a beautiful fragrance, and really quite addicting. i'm mainly getting those plasticky notes and the florals; absolutely no trace of milk. definitely smells sweeter on my skin. eventually dries down to just a really pleasant floral. unfortunately a bit too feminine for me, so i can't really see myself wearing it that often, but i really do love it.

Very unique and complex skin-scent!! After the initial spray I got hit with a very clean, soapy and fruity note with juicy yuzu. The intensity of the citrus quickly fades and the scent becomes very milky, gentle, with noticeable jasmine and florals as well as a now gentler citrusy note. The smell slowly allows itself to get more unusual, the synthetic, cold accords getting stronger, but never really stealing the spotlight. It does kinda smell like a cold, synthetic surface covered with a synthetic, clean skin. It’s comforting and delicate with a perfect finish of something unusual. I can see myself reaching for this after a shower or on days when I want to wear something simple that still stands out

Ghost in the Shell by ELDO is a slow burn—don't judge it on the first sniff. Give it space, then return to experience its unique, fleshy, and starchy milkiness on the skin. It balances an intimate, "human" vibe with a sharp projection of tart yuzu and soft floral. The opening of fresh cream eventually retreats into the background, revealing a sophisticated blend of compounds only a master perfumer could pull off. (What creative/mad scientist thinks to add a compound that calls to mind brand new electronics to a musk?) It’s certainly polarizing, but to me, it feels like a cozy, warm blanket. This was my first love from the house, and it remains a hauntingly beautiful and unique favorite.

this literally smells like neon genesis evangelion to me. clean, soapy, sophistically citrusy and weird. the dry-down has this almost robotic smell (i dont know how to describe this) which is probably where the futuristic concept arises from. i wanted to say that it smells like cheap soap like how others are claiming it to be, but my nose and skin chemistry bring out the yuzu note so damn well i really have to give props to this. i definitely see why this is a robotic/sci-fi fragrance, it just smells so clean like how polished cyborgs look like; on the flip side, it smells like a really high-end hospital. would wear if i was rei ayanami.

I love this scent; it's unique, delicate, and envelopingly creamy. At first, I was afraid that the yuzu combined with milk would smell sour. Fortunately, it's the opposite. The entire composition is sweet and close to the skin. I mainly detect the milk and sweetness of the yuzu, with the white flowers playing in the background. It's not a scent that will dominate the surroundings or linger on the skin for long (it fades on me after 1.5-2 hours). Despite the poor performance, I'm seriously considering buying a full bottle – I imagine peaceful moments alone, in the comfort of my home, when I need them: intimate, quiet, soothing.

god I love this perfume so much, I made an account just to leave a review. I absolutely get where people are coming from when they say its baby-lotion-like. There is a clean powdery scent that heavily reminds me of baby lotion, but in a more mature and crisp way. I don't get much of that computer air scent at first, more so 6-8 hours in. It still has that powdery scent but with a musk that reads as "clean skin" at its core. Reminds me of living at home with my mom and baby brother; clean house, fresh laundry, and a powdery baby. Had to get her as my first full bottle and make her my signature, I love this one <3

As soon as I first sprayed it, I immediately fell in love, it’s such a smooth, beautiful scent. It’s cozy and just slightly sweet (no gourmand here), and it’s clean too but not in a soapy way. It’s more like clean linen, though softer, not sharp or overly fresh. As it developed, I started noticing a plasticky nuance. You know that smell from when you were a kid and sniffed the head of a plastic doll? It’s somewhat like that but toned down. After a few hours, it fades into a faint, clean, smooth scent. It’s not strong at all, but I actually really enjoyed that stage. Very soft and lovely scent.

i’ve heard that this smells very different on different people, and on me it’s much less weird than i was expecting it to be. i’ve actually found that to be a good thing, though! the more i’ve worn this, the more i’ve fallen in love with it. it’s safe for daily use, but has just the right amount of weirdo edge for it to feel true to who i am. i love that i can wear this to work and still feel like an android taking a bubble bath while doing so. it’s versatile for every season and lasts well without becoming nauseating. i think this might become my signature, i can’t wait to buy a full bottle!

When I first smelled this perfume, I could smell something I wasn't sure about underneath. It was like a lip gloss that had been left outside in the summer heat for a week. I have no idea what that was about, and haven't noticed it since the first try. I've been wearing it for a while to make sure I know how I feel about it, and I love it more each time I try it. I don't know, but it smells like the most heavenly floral perfume to me now. My mother and boyfriend both said it smelled good, and I'm growing attached to it. I need a big bottle of it, so it's gone straight on my wishlist.
