Private Number for Men

One of the best colognes I’ve ever smelled. Such a shame this has been discontinued. Many compliments, all seasons., so special. On one hand I’m glad Aigner is not so known, on the other hand they are hard to get. If you get the chance, try and buy it!

I must admit that this scent surprised me!This is a fruity but not overly sweet scent with a classical feel and an interesting twist,balsamic,rosy,ambery.What a delight!Performances are moderate.

I wish I knew where to get this now as it's one of my all time favourites, which I believe was discontinued some time ago.

a blind buy and I was expecting something else - this opens immediately like an oldfashioned fragrance - for me not that impressive, I did not realy like the first half hour - the dry down was better - the floral notes are very present in this scent and I am actually not quite a fan of too much floral notes in masculins scents - overall with the moderate lasting und the well dry down it's not a real disappointment but I do not think I would buy again a bottle - I give it a 6,5/10 - I blindly bought in the last days two bottles of Etienne Aigner scents on the net because they are hard to find in the shops, just based on reviews and I will not blind buy a third bottle of this brand

I cannot see any similarities between this and Joop!. It's been a long time favourite of mine. Interesting fir note!

I use this to the office, sweet fresh and good longevity

I didn't get much in the way of top notes, so perhaps it's an issue of age and/or the transparent glass bottle. Don't expect strong lavender or neroli, for example, except for possibly a few minutes at first. For the most part, this is similar to Black Walnut, though I find this more floral and less "synthetic" or at least sharp. There is the same fruity/tonka/cedar accord, with at least the impression of tobacco. My only complaint is that longevity didn't seem especially good, but I'll have to give it another wearing and see if that was just my perception on that day. If you already have Black Walnut and really like it, I'm not sure you will get enough from this to justify buying a bottle of it, unless you are seeking a creamier and more floral version of that one. There is more of a pine and galbanum sharpness here, but it plays off the florals, so you might find this scent to be more dynamic than Black Walnut. It's not too sweet and it's rather blended, but certainly never comes across as a "blob." If you can find this one at a good price I think you will be pleased with the quality you are getting, especially compared to recent designer scents.

Almost like Joop but not 100%. It is a scent that starts fresh sweat and marine oceanic very strange because then it slips to a very ambery down dry of tonka and tobacco patchouli resin notes. The scent is powerful and long lasting and like nothing else every crated in the men's market. I can see it trying at the time in 1991 trying to rival the success and originality of Joop Homme though Private Number is a totally different fragrance it does share the DNA of its German cousin It can still be found cheap shame that Puig dropped it from Etienne Aigner's portfolio.

Private Number is an undiscovered gem. It opens with a fresh Eau-de-Cologne accord of citrus, lavender and orange blossom, but quickly dries down to a warm woody-ambery blend very similar to Jil Sander's Feeling Man. Private Number's base is lighter, though, and lasts quite well. It's distinctive, suave, and inviting, with a subtle sensuality beneath the refined exterior. This smells to me like Mozart's music sounds --- a lyrical, simply orchestrated journey, with little surprises along the way if you're paying attention.

This fragrance to me smells like Creed Original Santal. This is not a copy either it was launched it 1992 and original santal was launched in 2005. This is an amazing scent and is absolutely underrated. It is a great replacement for creed if you are looking for a non expensive alternative. The notes are not even similar but they do smell alike. This is a rockstar fragrance.

The opening is a bit loud on the Florals and very fruity with a hint of Lavender & bitter Galbanum...not bad would wears around the house or to bed...7/10 for me.

Classic scent, heavy and tilted towards older generation than younger. Love the smell but not the performance.
