For life and In Love, respectively the male and the female fragrance were Eudora's bets for the month of June 2020, when Valentine's Day is celebrated in Brazil. The concept of companionship was transmitted, visually, through the perfume bottles, in different colors and textures that complement each other. For Life presents a fragrance classified as woody, whose subfamily is oriental. It has notes of ginger, nigella, pink pepper, and grapefruit on top. The body has notes of artemisia, lavender, cardamom, and sandalwood, while the base reveals notes of patchouli, praline, balsamic accord, and musk. On the skin, the fragrance of For Life brought me some good surprises since I saw countless criticisms about quality, innovation, etc. from some reviewers who called themselves “connoisseurs”. And I think it is worth emphasizing that a proper olfactory evaluation must be done impartially, thinking about the concept and, above all, the briefing of the project. Otherwise, it is nothing more than a personal opinion, full of guesses, prejudice, and lack of knowledge. For Life touches the skin with a lot of citrus content, but does not hide its spices and woods, even at the beginning of the process. This happens because the grapefruit cannot overshadow the strong spicy and aromatic content of black cumin, as Nigella Sativa is also known. The cardamom is quite evident throughout the evolution, but gains a touch of creaminess, thanks to sandalwood. For fans of fragrances with cardamom, but who are tired of the usual green and burning nuances, here is a good option. For Life dries with woody content and a lot of patchouli. Do not be alarmed by the praline note (little publicized in the media), as this scent is not too sweet. In fact, I did not see any resemblance to the fragrance of Ultra Male (JPG), which is sweeter and more effervescent on the output. The olfactory path proposed this time follows the style of Avant Garde (Lanvin), for instance. This Eudora scent was not made for the single man, who likes the nighttime and loves the cinnamon + vanilla combo of the last few years. This time, the man is already committed (according to the concept) and prefers moments that can be enjoyed by two. The shirt with a thin fabric and a deep V-shaped collar goes out of the picture, and the dress shirt or a loose blazer over a basic t-shirt comes in, creating a more stripped, however quiet look. In terms of performance, it is well aligned with the proposal of the female fragrance, which has good durability but does not overdo the trail. For a complicated year like 2020, I think Eudora managed to launch a pair of fragrances that fit with the moment of social isolation, where couples who live together - now, closer than ever - do their chores during the day and curl up to watch a TV series at night.
