Tubéreuse Manifeste

I think this is the most interesting tuberose fragrance that I have met. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that the tuberose is present just in some of the initial phases of the perfume and it doesn't dominate the whole composition, like the most tuberose fragrances. It starts with green tuberose like La Chasse Aux Papillons only as a feeling not the same thing. Then it turns woody, very beautiful combination of woods with tuberose - just like the drawing on the bottle. And then suddenly there is a lot of amber. I don't see it in the list of notes but to me the feeling is of deep and rich ambery note with just a hint of tuberose. This is the phase where tuberose dies out. The finale is very interesting - the previous fragrance vanished and there is another fragrance - sweet and leathery (reminds me a little bit of Traversee du Bosphore). Beautiful creation with enormous longevity on me. I really wish someday to be in my collection.

Big rum/tuberose/chamomile accord, with subtle supporting notes green artemisia and some weight from the iris butter & rose. Not a red rose, a pink rose. I don’t get any animal notes or leather, disappointingly. Conceptually, Tubéreuse Manifeste does have a surreal olfactive presentation, surprisingingly. It smells like bubblegum tuberose. I’m struck with an unusual visual of white flowers blowing large pink bubbles. If there’s anything carnal about it, it’s in an equally surreal and unusual way. The tuberose bubblegum accord reminds me of Japanese Kawaii culture like ‘lolita’ ruffled pale pink dresses, and in French fashion 60’s babydoll dresses á la Brigitte Bardot. Ultra femme. Nearly everything about this perfume says “pink” to me, but it’s a flesh toned pink which is the best shade. Maybe that’s another surreal allude to the sensuality. Overall, this style isn’t my typical association with sensuality or eroticism, but I can see the perfumer’s vision and I’m into it. I like it. If someone gave me a bottle, I’d find occasions to wear it. It’s a perfect fancy picnic perfume, like wine, cheese, and dessert. Especially fitting for Spring, but appropriate for most seasons, except for the dead of winter in which Tubéreuse Manifeste is likely too lighthearted for such a stark time.

A very naturalist tubereuse as we can find in Tubéreuse Organique by Zoo but with a gradual focus on the flower's essence until obtention of a very aromatic narcotic sirupy-like distila (but nothing animalic). The final result is intense and must be reserved for the real lovers of this unapolegical flower (otherwise beware of headaches).

This is a somewhat indolic and animalistic tuberose perfume but, at the same time, very subtle. From the opening the most predominant note is a somewhat boozy and syrupy tuberose, indolic and animal but, to my nose, very slightly. Perhaps the sweetness that surrounds the floral part counteracts the more pungent effect of the animal notes. After three or four hours of development, the tuberose relaxes and what remains on the skin is a more woody composition with a certain sweet herbal presence of artemisia and chamomile. On my skin it has a moderate projection and lasts about 8 hours. I think it is a pretty, spring-like perfume, with a sexy touch but nothing excessive, although it didn't win me over. I'd very grateful if someone suggest me similar fragrance with A BIG NO animal notes. I find this fragrance captivating but it's just too much for me. More like red light district kinda perfume, I don't find it that nasty though but since it's gonna reach others' noses I can't wear something that it's solely pleasing to me. If only I knew what kind of animalic ingredients were used in this perfume I'd be more secure to wear this.
