Love Shot

Nothing more. Nothing less. This is a skin scent for me, but not as unremarkable as that tag can be at times. It has presence and the gift of sincerity, not perfumery, exactly. I don't think you are meant to smell like perfume with this fragrance. The scent of your skin is meant to elevate with this composition, not just worn on/by it. It layers with your skin (oils? perspiration?) so smoothly it's difficult to separate. Love Shot feels very much like a part of me, though I never forget I'm wearing it, nor do I think those near me forget either. Anyone leaning in close with this one, won't step away any time soon. Me ,my husband and my two daughters are guest at my husband's cousin destination wedding. So we flight there and we planned to stroll the city before it.He picked for me Love shot at ex Nihilo boutique.Love shot has warm and classic feels to it..like modern version of something Chanel .I didn't know it has raspberry,on my first sniffed I smelled ambery soft leather almost suede and touch of powdery just a little.i think it has Labdanum in it.It will always be a beautiful memory for me,not just because of our trip,or because he picked it up for me but also because Love Shot is really beautifully classic

This reminds me so much of one of my favourite fragrances, Deci Dela from Nina Ricci, discontinued a long time ago. The leather used here is airy, powdery, and reminiscent of makeup. There’s a fruity and sweet note accompanying it. This combination is chic, youthful and very feminine. It lacks the effervescence and wearability of Deci Dela, and I can imagine it becoming overwhelming in warm weather, but I’m happy that I’ve found a replacement for a lost treasure, although it is ridiculously overpriced.

This one is a surprise. A good one. I didn't quite know what to make of it. I swear there is tobacco present. It's a potent start. I guess it's the leather. Gradually the leather eases and a big juicy sweet raspberry appears. Very natural smelling. I'm not really a fruity fragrance lover but I really like this. It's starts off a unisex scent but it definitely leans a touch more to the feminine when the fruit appears. It's definitely a cool and chilly weather scent.

I fell head over heels in love with this perfume. While checking prices online I noticed that several notes are missing in the perfume pyramid of fragrantica (source: ex nihilo paris): Olfactory notes Top Bergamot, Pink Berries, Peony Heart Jasmine, Patchouli, Raspberry Accord Base Vetiver, Leather Accord, Vanilla, Musk this perfume bears a certain resemblance to bottega veneta btw: mrsg34's review is spot on and was indeed smelling patchouli

I’m not a fan of leather but here it’s just yummm... to me love shot is a glass of champagne with raspberry in it. I envision a girl wearing bold lipstick and silky dress with leather jacket over it, sipping champagne with raspberry in some fancy bar. Elegant, airy, fruity with warmth of leather that grounds it. My favorite from Ex Nihilo.

Gorgeous - sophisticated, feminine and just beautiful. I sprayed lightly first thing in the morning and it got progressively more sultry. Lasted all day and some. Highly recommended!

There are different reactions to this one in the reviews. For me, I pretty much get the pyramid. Deep raspberry and a patchouli/musk combo with a hint of leather. I can see how one might get tobacco instead of leather but either way, it is a light touch. It isn't nearly as citrusy as Coco Mad IMO. Its more similar to Mon Paris Intense IMO, which also has a raspberry patchouli combo but this is less floral and bright than that. Due to the strong raspberry note, it probably does lean more feminine but its not like Delina or J'adore feminine. It could be interesting on a guy with the hint of depth from the patchouli and leather/tobacco. I like this, I find it both accessible and a little unique and a little fun. I have enough perfumes that I don't feel the need to buy a FB right now but if I was gifted one, I would happily wear it.

There are quite a lot of bad reviews on this, but I find it appealing and interesting. I can pick out peony, raspberry, bergamot, quite a lot of gritty patchouli, vetiver, and just a bit of leather. The vetiver is a dry and airy, yet also a bit musty, but I don't mind that. I wouldn't typically reach for a raspberry perfume and definitely not for a patchouli perfume, but the combinations here seem to balance out nicely. As time passes, a creamier note develops. Well blended. I would say it leans feminine, but I wouldn't find it shocking on a man. To me, this would be very wearable in the fall or winter. Also in the evening- it's a little bit sexy. There isn't a lot of projection, but it makes it's presence known periodically as it pleases. Like an illusive predatory jungle cat. 7.5/10.

No doubt a pleasant creation. A berry heavy chypre with rather warm and earthy undertones. Leather is not really noticeable to me, there is a sweetness and a depth to this perfume. Obviously from a master perfumer. When I read the reviews before me, someone mentioned comparison to Chanel scents, and yes that is very apt. Similar lines, if you like Chanel's fragrances this might appeal to you. I would say full bottle worthy and even a good present for someone into Chanel fragrances and as a surprise. As it's a chypre, bear in mind it is along the classical, more mature, old school and elegant lines. Something The Baroness from the Sound of Music would wear. :-)

This and Sweet Morphine, both created by the same nose have an incredible airy sense to them as in your not quite wearing them, theyr'e just following you around all day? Both incedibly beautiful perfumes with tremendous lasting power, you get the impression of a linear scent then all of a sudden a beautiful waft swings your way!. On first spray I swore I smelt some patchouli though not listed, just ever so lightly, which made way for the raspberry, not too sweet, rather tart, then a light leather mixed within a musk, quite beautiful. There is a slight animalic feel to this but not skankily so if you will! Just a suggestion of it.

If i didn't read the notes, I wouldn't have detected any fruit AT ALL-- i was shocked it's classified as a chypre. It's very cozy and warm, but reads almost entirely musky and leathery on me. Unlike most leather notes, it doesn't have a heavy smoky quality, which I like. It feels too mature for me in general but I might layer it with a citrus for a night out.

it’s smells like first batches of coco mademoiselle and super long lasting on my skin. i like it. but i think it’s overpriced

This perfume is not for everyone. When I first smelled it, I didn’t love or even like it. Although, when I became more familiar and intrigued by various olfactory notes I reached for my sample again. It opens with sweet and tangy raspberry and settles into soft “old” leather with a musky base. It reminds me of my mom’s old leather handbags - leather and makeup, but in a good way. This is a really beautiful scent and appropriate for autumn and winter.

This scent is made for a specific crowd A chypre that is not easy to pull off like other fragrances When I tried it on paper it was incredible Sprayed it on my clothes it was beautiful in the opening the mid was OK but the dry down didn’t impress me Performance was good I came to the conclusion that it’s not good enough for my collection

I am very surprised at all the enthusiasm for this scent. It’s really rubbish in my opinion especially when you factor in the price. For a scent that supposedly has just three main notes it’s surprisingly muddled. Yeah I get some leather but it doesn’t stir any feelings at all for me, nor does the berry, and I’m a lover of scents that feature prominent fruit as long as it’s kept from going childish. If you want delectable fruit leather combo go with cherry punk from room 1015—a masterpiece I will always own.

I can sort of see the Bottega Veneta comparison but only if one diluted 1 part BV into 3 parts raspberry Kool-Aid. Bottega Veneta is much more sophisticated and smells more expensive, IMO. I’m finding this one a little nauseating.

This is a leather chypre all the way on me, no raspberries or musk at all, just patchouli, leather and oakmoss. Definitely try before you buy, not an esy one this.

Coco Mademoiselle vibes, but somehow less balanced. Disappointing for me, but will find its fan base.

Love Shot is one of those perfumes of which I can understand the mass appeal, but because it smells so synthetic, it doesn’t agree with me. While it does not smell like Coco Mademoiselle, they are in the same category. They both have some fruit and sweetness and something dirty underneath. I do not detect leather. It’s more like a dark patchouli lots of musks. Love Shot lacks the citrus of CM, and it has a cloying synthetic amber note that takes over everything and turns my stomach. Sillage and longevity are big.

Very heavy, feminine, I would say for a lady 45+ Nice to have in a sample as a go-out evening scent, but not a full bottle. Reminds me of a cheap perfume I had when I was small...

Ex Nihilo Love Shot is a love!!!!!!!! The better and perfected version of Mizensir For your Love. Actually this was made 5 years prior in 2016 so it's the original and sometimes the original is just best. Sticky raspberry that's actually prominent to me unlike other raspberry-leather profiles that are usually just leather, like TF Ombre Leather that's clean and exclusively masculine imo. This exudes femininity with its obvious and chewy sweet raspberry. As if the beautiful chewy raspberry musk opening of Lancome La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant stayed for the life of the fragrance, instead of turning into something else like a rose vanilla candy, which wasn't bad but I liked the opening more. The leather in Love Shot is so tame and doesn't get stronger than it is as it sits on skin. The raspberry does retreat a little after a few hours to this clean musk with leather nuances, which is the only thing I smell before a soft and still sweet raspberry musk appears until the end with even softer leather accords. I really enjoy this and I'm lucky I get the raspberry so strongly, which doesn't seem to be the case for everyone. Also performs well and lasts on my skin. This would be a night time/date scent for me.

This was a surprising love for me. The opening is strong and to me it smelled familiar but I couldn't place it at first. The most prominent top notes for me are bergamot and pepper with a hint of leather. In about 20-30 min it transforms in what to me is jasmine, leather, a bit of rose and patchouli. The drydown is creamy and soft, like rosy leather and a hint of powder. Longevity is about 7-8 hours, moderate silage. I detect no sweetness at all, just a very feminine, sophisticated fragrance. For some reason it really reminds me of a softer, leathery version of Coco Noir. I tested them side by side a few times and to me the similarities are striking. Love Shot is overall softer, more subdued and has slightly better longevity on my skin. I tried layering it with MFK's A la Rose and it worked amazing together. Tried it in the winter, agree that this is more of a cool weather fragrance. It's interesting, this seems to be one of those fragrances that work very differently on different people.

-Fruity...chypre? This genre is something new to me, so maybe I just haven't developed the appreciation for such scents. Please take my review with a bucket of salt. Here's my two cents on Love Shot by Ex Nihilo. -This is what i'd imagine someone's expensive, perfumed supple leather jacket would smell like if they had left it in their car under the hot sun, having forgotten it still contained a roll of chewy fruit-flavoured candy their niece had snuck in a pocket the week prior... -Don't get me wrong. It STILLS smells like perfume. Like an expensive, classy floral musk perfume that got mixed in with the scent of artificial candy... like the perfumer wasn't quite deliberate in its concoction. (-)

I have a sample of this one that i got when i bought venenum kiss. I don't even know what i was thinking that day because when i tried love shot again at home i was very disappointed. I don't get any raspberry on me. After the powerful opening the perfume soften a bit but there is still that something very artificial that throws me off. I can't really put my finger on it, is it the musk? The rasperry? But it ends smelling like a cheap teen fragrance on me. Definitely try this one on your skin before buying cause love might happen with your skin or like in my case can be a missed shot.

Very very disappointing; the opening just came out a whisper of a faint musk, a non-sweet berry like hint in the background, and that dull, austere leather note. Basically, a diluted and strangely 'muffled' Tuscan Leather - which I'm not even any fan of at all. To think I had to tread carefully into the hyper-luxurious inner alcove of marbled paved flooring of Harrod's famous Perfume Parlour in order to sample this! Oh dear My rating: 3/10

I am surprised at the pyramid! No patchouli or tobacco but leather?! The scent is 100% feminine, stop fooling with unisex definitions. I for one would not like to meet a man smelling Love shot that's for sure :-) This one is my favourite Ex Nihilo fragrance as it is unique, not greasy, stays dry and elegant, just like French Champagne. What other Champagne can it be!

This is a true chypre and leans more towards the leather musk side to my nose. I don't get much raspberry honestly. This reminds me lots of Bottega Venata's first one. Easily unisex imho. I can't help but think that a smidge of honey would have really rounded this out and cut down it's sharp edges. This is a very nice modern chypre, worthy of a try.

Very potent tart raspberry! And I don't get the leather, it is definitely not leathery or musky fragrance, the star is really a fresh raspberry. This is like modern take on classic perfumery like Hot Couture but it does not have dated or vintage vibe. Also the longevity is exceptional! It lasts on skin about 12 hours and on clothes almost forever.

It’s hard to hate on something when I know it’s not really my style. A little too sweet and sharp, but I can also understand the appeal. Smells like high society. Wearing a sweet, leather scent is not for me, so a gentle pass. At the same time, if this sounds appealing by all means try it. This has a young, feminine vibe.

Strong and long lasting perfume, with amazing sillage! I can definitely pick up raspberry, leather, musc and moreover patchouli. The thing is: it is pretty linear from start to finish and it can feel "heavy" at times, making me feel nauseous... Probably the strong patchouli.

Ordered some samples from Lucky Scent and I got them today! Among them is Love Shot by Ex Nihilo. It is sophisticated and mysterious. It is a woman that doesn't need others approval. Secure, sensual, complete! What a gorgeous scent! I am going for the 50 ml!

This is really pleasant. It's calming. I can't quite describe it, it's changed quite a bit in the few minutes I've had it on. Like a powdery dusty sweetness. It smells familiar, but I can't figure out to what. Perhaps a good signature scent for someone.

This is such an odd comparison-but to me this smells like a raisin cinnamon bagel. A sweet one! Or like those sugary cinnamon sticks you can get at Auntie Anne’s. With that sweet burnt raisin smell. Mmm.

Does anyone else get a celery note from this? I bought it un-sniffed and I'm trying to like it! Not bad, but not good. I wish I would have gotten a sample before I bought it!

Love shot immediately reminded me of classic French perfumery ( well rounded chypre). Unfortunately On my skin it smells flat and very similar to club de nuit intense.

100% for women. I don't know why nowaday they advertise ladies fragrance as unisex and sometimes they even advertise it for men only. Crazy.
