Outcast Blue Extrait de Parfum

So many rookies out there far too quick to compare this to another fragrance. This is nothing like Oud For Greatness. This is actually phenomenal whereas OFG is a synthetic mess. The performance of this gem is next level. I would strongly advise to sample first. This stuff isn't cheap but you get what you pay for here. Ex-Nihilo has been knocking it out of the park lately with some absolutely stunning releases. This is definitely next on my list before this 10ml decant is gone.

A perfume that can make a statement. You can definitely wear it on special occasions to impress people and emphasize your serious business plans. Those who say that this is a copy of Oud For Greatness are absolutely wrong. I have both and they are both beautiful in their own way. I can say with full confidence that these are two different fragrances and have little in common. OFG is much warmer and spicier, while Outcast Blue Extrait is cold with a gentle and romantic sillage.

I'm confused by the OFG comparisons, to describe another fragrance. But to indulge, OBE and OFG smell nothing alike to my nose. I bought a full bottle of OFG and gave it away the very same day, it was the most synthetic smelling fragrance I have ever smelled and not sophisticated or complex in any way.... OBE on the other hand is a unique, beautifully done and powerful aura fragrance, that makes you feel in charge.

Outcast Blue from Ex Nihilo by perfumer Jordi Fernández is an exquisite fragrance. A masculine scent with the perfect balance of light and dark. The oud is not off putting for those who find oud to be challenging. This is a gentleman's scent that would be great for formal occasions or for people that prefer a fragrance that makes a bold statement while still being refined.

Stop ranking this against other perfumes, its such a boring and lazy way to review. Outcast Blue Extrait stands alone. It is delicious and exotic and sensuous. I love it. Perfect for date night. So alpha. It’s complex and seductive - makes me wanna smell it and keep on keeping on. Two words: powerful and majestic. Yum. Love.

En definitiva, es un hermano de OFG y de Haltane. Lamentablemente en mi piel si acaso proyectaba unos 30 minutos y después a ras de piel. Espero haya sido fatiga olfativa, pero de que es un aroma de reyes sin duda lo es. A mi gusto calidad, clase y masculinidad en un aroma.

I’m officially obsessed, I can’t stop sniffing myself. The tobacco, oud, vetiver/hay notes are so well done in this, I love it! A little goes a long way and lasts forever. It definitely leans masculine but I needed this in my life.

Wow wow wow. Powerful, majestic, phenomenal. I get incense and leather and something like my own clean skin. Unbelievably surprisingly intoxicating. It share a couple notes with OFG but it does not smell like or replace it.

10/10 incredible fragrance. Perfection in at a bottle. 156 bottles in my collection and I have nothing like this. Instant purchase, worth every penny.

It took me a few days to appreciate this frag. The similarities to OFG are justified but, this is way heavier last a lot longer & not as linear. Monster performance on my skin. I’d never get through 100mil

Definitely an OFG/Haltane clone (w/ an extra layer of depth)...BUT it is my favorite and best performing of the lot.

Sampled this today in store on a card and on my boyfriend. It smells like Initio Oud for Greatness.

I must say that I much prefer the direction that Parfums De Marly Haltane goes into, but I feel like it's different enough from Outcast Blue Extrait to cater to different people. Parfums De Marly Haltane is definitely more gourmand-forward with the Praline thrown into the mid and the top notes of Haltane is definitely fresher and uplifting too. This fragrance definitely is a polarizing one and to my nose it feels like the base note Oud is more dirty compared to some other niche fragrances I've sampled so far that I prefer, like Parfums De Marly Haltane and Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade.

The mcdonalds hand soap comment is spot on. It is strong, but imo isn’t that similar OFG. The saffron and oud are very present and up front. I can see why people would like this but its just too strong and i couldn’t see this being worn daily

If you're looking for a clone of Outcast Blue Extrait then get Magical Oud by Armaf. Exactly the same fragrance for around a tenth of the price. I'm not a fan of either, but thought I'd let those who like this one know there is a dupe available. Performance and longevity of Magical Oud is on par with the Ex Nihilo.

The opening on this needs a few seconds to calm down. It threatens to run away from you in the first few seconds but the real main event here is the saffron and as this comes in the whole thing pivots on the skin. I would say this is one of my all time favourite uses of oud and the absolute finest saffron I've ever got my nose on, bar none. Only Bijou Zafran by Ormonde Jayne and Liquid by Les Liquides Imaginaires get close to this, but I still think Outcast Blue Extrait is better than these two luminary, magnificent creations. It has better performance and is more overtly masculine. I love fragrances like this. I wouldn't buy it if I smelt it just on the tester strip but I've learned to take my time and try things on the skin. Once there; it blossoms like the dawn opening of an exotic orchid. There is some tobacco and some white florals in the heart and a glorious oud in the base but it is very much a European interpretation of the saffron/oud theme, blended in a classically French style. The development on the skin as it warms and dries down is just magical. It sweetens a little bit but the way the tobacco, oud and saffron work together once they warm up is very much "me". Seriously, Outcast Blue Extrait is absolutely stunning. I remember the first time I got my nose on it in Harvey Nichols in Dubai. It took my breath away in the opening and then again in a different way a few minutes later as it dried down. I promise you: this is jaw dropping. So what does it mean to me? Where would I wear this? How? I am an overweight, middle-aged, bald British guy with a beard and many tattoos who has a very stressful job that takes up a lot of me, but that I care about deeply and passionately. I look and sound grumpy a lot of the time even when I'm not so I need to try harder to stay approachable than most. I need to be switched on at all times in my job or I will get run over. So my work persona has become confident, smart, well-turned out, solution-orientated, considered in everything I do and ready at any point to defend my decisions and myself. I have to bring it, every day. That vibe has a smell. Ombre Nomade would be a great example and anyone who has read any of my reviews will be well aware of the love I have for that, my all time number one favourite fragrance. I think Outcast Blue Extrait is a similar vibe even if it smells nothing like Papa Nomade. It is a rich, incredibly refined and powerful fragrance that is a lot more wearable than people think it is, especially in warm weather like we have here in Dubai. It has a very deliberate disarming charm. If my professional self has a smell, this is it. Outcast Blue Extrait is what walking round the trading floor feels like to me. If you need to bring it, every day, then this is very much that vibe. Three Word Summary: Rich, Refined, Stunning. Layering combination: I cannot imagine ever needing to layer this. Why would you? Outfit suggestion: fresh shave, tailored navy blue suit from Suit Supply, crisp white shirt, dark brown Chelsea boots, DeepSea Seadweller on the wrist. Please don't believe @Woodynote below. I got a sample of Outcast Blue Extrait, Oud for Greatness, and Buveur de Vent just to explore the work of Jordi Fernandez. BDV does not smell like OBE at all. BDV is a leathery homage to a powerhouse fragrance from the 80's. It's leathery, spicy, and green and doesn't have any real sweetness. More similar to Tom Ford Noir Anthracite in notes. It doesn't smell modern at all IMO. OBE on the other hand... the opening is pretty pungent. To me it smells like inky, sweet gasoline. It has a very refined somewhat industrial smell. It's round and full. The listed notes of black pepper and saffron combine for something pretty unique. As the opening progresses a little, there's some hints of green like pine and Akigalawood. After about two hours, the spicy gasoline top notes clear and you get a smooth lily of the valley mid. The base is smooth, rich woods and a sweet BR540 type accord (similar to OFG). It's pretty sweet and modern at the base. I don't smell oud, but I'm not an oud expert. Maybe that's part of the pungent opening? Projection and sillage seem good, and longevity is a full 9 hour workday no problem. As for OFG, it smells cheap and paper thin in comparison to OBE!! I expected a lot more after reading all of the reviews on its page. Much less pungent, and much more airy in comparison to OBE. I do know it was a reformulated 2021 bottle. I was not impressed at all. Anyway, thought I would share since all the reviews just compare it to other fragrances but don't say what it actually smells like. Could be worth a sample if you really like OFG and want to try something better. But it's so dang expensive it's hard to say. $30 for a 5ml decant... not very good value.

I don’t know man, to me this has got that same OFG and Haltane DNA. I’m starting to wonder if these French houses like Initio, PDM and now Ex Nihilo are starting to outsource/hire the same companies to formulate and create their scents. Because none of the perfumes mentioned above have a perfumer’s name associated to them. Great scent, but starting to get a bit overused now.

First of all for me nothing like oud for greatness. Neither Haltane. But I m not surprised that people write here so mamy stupid things. This is a very unique spicy , distinctive woody fragrance that lends elegance and confidence to the wearer. It has remarkable staying power and a very long-lasting scent. 14 hrs and even more....

idk whats up with that false sandalwood dominated harsh fake oud dna that tom ford oud wood has but its been redone to death. this has that dna yet smokier and harsher. ofg is not harsh as hell like this imo. still a good and unique blend tho

This is yet another clone of Oud For Greatness, offering nothing new nor captivating. The market is already saturated with enough saffron induced scents, raising the question of how many more do we really need.

If you own Oud for Greatness, then you barely need Outcast Blue. If not, it might be a more versatile choice for saffron-oud-earthy blend, with a more European (fresher) and less Arabian (heavier) vibe.

I do Not see the similarities to OFG. Honestly, I don't. If anything, I get some Amouage King Blue and a little bit of Ombre Nomade. Just my take- Anyway, just ordered a full bottle...
