Faconnable Royal Eau de Parfum

I really enjoy Faconnable's fragrance line so far, as the original is in my opinion, one of the best formal, country club type of scents a man can own. 'Royal' is no different, even though is geared more for beach days, poolside, or hot weather on the terrace or patio. This smells nearly identical to Dunhill 'Desire Blue Ocean' or Perry Ellis 'Portfolio'. Initial blast is a very strong citrus drenched in marine and sea accords. It is a beautiful fresh and sporty scent that screams for warm weather and being outdoors near the coast. This stays fairly linear until a base of soft woods and a hint of spices come around to carry it on for hours. With eight to ten sprays (neck, shoulders, chest and forearms), I get around 7-10+ hours of longevity with excellent projection for at least half its life. It sticks around as a soft skin scent after the first six hours. It holds easily on clothes and fabrics for 12-15+ hours, and can be smelled on them slightly for a few days. This is nothing new, as its identical to 'Desire Blue Ocean' or Perry Ellis 'Portfolio', both of which are also very good performing aquatic fragrances. It smells fantastic, women seem to really love it, and it works very well in warmer weather. Can be used from Spring to Fall months, and is fairly cheap for the fragrance you get. Highly recommended.

Façonnable may be exiting the perfume business since there is no mention of any fragrances on their website. Royal in particular is getting harder to find, however 100 mL bottles can still be found for well under $20 in September 2025, an amazing value. This is a very pleasant casual scent that has solid longevity with modest sillage. It is perhaps the only fragrance I own that performs better on skin in every respect. Fabric simply drinks it in and locks it away, regardless of overspraying. The opening combination of bergamot and lavender is hardly groundbreaking, but Royal has the best execution I've found at any price point. It is natural and full without being overwhelming. After 4-5 hours, there is a close scent bubble of woody accords that lasts the rest of the day.

Façonnable Royal... ...is definitely not your typical aquatic freshie like Davidoff Cool Water or Nautica. It is the French Riviera in a bottle. While the original Façonable is a board walk with your wife and a nice dinner, Royal is for the Riviera nightlife or on board of one of those yachts anchoring in the harbour. It is not as fresh as the original but they share a smooth floral centre with Royal having a deeper richness to it. The sea water note gives it a bit of a freshness offset by soft spices. Royal is smooth and we'll blended and the creation sits on a mossy wooden base smoothed out by Tonka. It lasts reasonably long and leaves an elegant scent trail. The bottle looks great and the tin looks good in the bathroom as a decorative item.

I purchased Stripe many years ago, and thought it was a very nice frag. Last year, I happened to get into the fragrance hobby, and happened to read and watch a few reviews on Faconnable Royal, and kind of bought into the hype. My Lord, what a gorgeous frag... And for a blue frag, the longevity is pretty reasonable. This happens to be my favorite spring/summer scent, that is very versatile for its occasions. I would would put this up there with BDC, or other mass appealing frags. If you wear this, you will likely not smell someone else wearing this, as most people stick to mass appealing frags.

I got this as a gratis when I purchased a faconnable Riviera. This one is a masterpiece (Riviera too)! Very easy to wear. After dry down it's smells amazing. The Tonka bean gives a good sweetness for it, but it's not too sweet, it's perfect. I don't like Dior sauvage nor bleu de Chanel, this doesn't remind me any of them, it's better! It projects well, an absolute compliment getter. On my skin it's long lasting, I could smell it approx 8 hours, and then it turns to a skin scent. As a skin scent it reminds me to boss bottled OG. I love it!

Faconnable as a brand is growing on me more and more. I get a distinct thought through the products- the scents have a classic almost dated vibes to them but always with a nice twist after an hour or two, a bit cheeky and they work very well in windy/aquatic scenarios. This one is no different. Starts blue on a brink of boring but changes quite a bit with time into something much smoother, interesting and contemporary. I only wish they would perform better and stay more than 4h on skin.

Bought this as a blind buy. Royale is a nice clean, peppery, fresh, spicy, marine and citrus perfume. It's an EDP and it's longevity is very good. It's a linear fragrance and does not evolve. This has a really nice fresh character and it makes you want to go back to it. This has grown on me a lot - I really think this is lovely and has a lovely spicy freshness, it's unique too. But if I were pushed, I would say it's in the same family as Potion Power, Wings or Cool Water.

#828 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Bought this as a sample and this just got a bottle buy from me. I loved everything about Tous Man Intense but the impotence. This warms up that same mix with some nutmeg and delivers acceptable longevity at a moderate price. I think this is nice masculine business wear, perfect for the office. Car pool, elevator and small office safe. Good for casual warm weather day wear.

Fresh woody aromatic with hints of spice and pepper. Dries down to a slightly sweet woody accord. It smells clean and sophisticated. Good performance on tropical climates. Ideal for casual use and strolls. It does not smell cheap and generic. Sillage is average not offensive and the longevity is great (7-10hrs). I just hope they improve their distribution to let people know how good this is.

A fresh version of Maboussin Pour Lui, and Mont Blanc Legend if it was a "blue" frag, both heavy on Lavender. This is amazing for the price, it's a legit frag from a legit perfumer. Masculine, invigorating and smooth clean. Longevity is pretty nice, this EDP will last you a whole work day. Solid and surprisingly good blind buy for me, cause i honestly wasn't expecting much.

WOW, this is nice! I see the resemblance with Invictus, although this one is much more sophisticated and original. Nice for spring and summer, a petty it's a bit light. Absolutely gorgeous bottle. Try this if you have the chance, it's relatively cheap nowadays and it's unique and special enough to stand out from the crowd.

This is the King (no pun intended) of this aromatic/marine family of perfumes. This family includes Cool Water, Ted Lapidus Sport, Wings and Potion Power. It's an EDP and very well implemented with a good performance. Royal is a lovely perfume. I have two bottles and will get some more

Fresh spicy aromatic, pretty typical stuff though it's nicely done. While I have not smelled Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce Blue, I can see why this might be compared to an aquatic version of the original Fierce, and it reminds me a lot of Tous Man Intense (which is commonly named as a Fierce substitute) in the opening, so I think the upvotes are on point there. I can definitely smell the cedar and moss in the base, as well as the geranium as it dries down, and while there's an aquatic note in there it's balanced well with the floral notes. All of this to say if you like aromatics from the early and mid-2000s, this would be a very safe blind buy for you. It's clean, it's inoffensive, it has a little bit of a kick to it. Smells like something an athlete would wear during the warmer months. I think it's being slept on as a budget fragrance because it's well worth the $20-30 you can get it for.

If you want a value fragrance that has great longevity and is a fresh blue fragrance, this is a good choice. It reminds me of when my boyfriend has just stepped out of the shower and used a good blue type body wash. I believe one of the Old Spice body washes has a similar scent--this is NOT classic Old Spice scent, though. This is just beast mode of that type of body wash scent. It has that spicy aromatic zing to it. I applied it to my wrist to test it (from a sample) and I continually got wafts of smell from it for several hours. It is still strong several hours later. I would suggest taking care with how much you apply because I think this could probably gas some people who may or may not be sensitive. If you want an invigorating, fresh scent that makes you smell like you've just showered, this is it.

Beautiful bottle (like the other one - the white). To my opinion the blue represents the smell of Royal. It is marine but not on the far end. The aromatic + woody make it more 4 seasons scent. The performance is good and the price is very good too! It is a nice pleasant fragrance!

Purchased a sample vial off of FragranceNet. Smells a lot like my Ajmal Kuro but a little more floral, same type of thing as Dior Sauvage but way better. I prefer Kuro over this because it lasts longer, it’s stronger and it’s even cheaper. Still a good smelling cologne. 8.2/10

To my nose, Royal smells alot like a toned down Dior Sauvage. In rough terms, about half the dirty spicy pepperiness of Sauvage and with florals and citrus that freshen the dark nature of Sauvage. Dries down to smell quite close to PDM Percival. Quite good IMHO.

It's a nice blue. I went through the sample. All the facconable I've tried are decent and have a similar dry down that i like. I'll pick up a full bottle of one of these.

Amazing value for what it is and how long it lasts. Yes, very mainstream freshy a la PDM Percival but cheap and very efficient

I was curious on Karine Dubreuil Sereni's creations other then Gucci PHii. I have to say Royal's pleasant, it doesn't blow my mind but I have nothing like this in my collection. When it first opened on my skin, it smells like "Super Bubble Original" which is a powdery bubble gum that's faintly sweet in taste & smell. On the mid in my imagination reminds me of light rain that passed on a field with low grass & a few trees during spring. The citrus comes in late on my skin, also the scent gets louder in mid. I'll update on the dry down. Update: This blend isn’t working for me, can’t seem to enjoy wearing this on any occasion other then home with no one around.

Smells like a dryer sheet as someone else had stated. It’s nice but IMO not worth even $20 because it’s so boring to me. If you want a nice smelling cheaper fragrance just save a little more and get Jimmy choo Man intense EDIT: The more I wear it the more I like. Fresh and sometimes gets compliments. Still smells like a dryer sheet though. EDIT EDIT: Better colognes for the same price. I recommend Blue Seduction, Club de Nuit, or Jimmy Choo— they’re all better than this. Will probably give this away

Recently I'm sold on the affordable Faconnable Royal EdP layered "50/50 next to" with Lattafa Hayaati EdP, which takes me south to the Riviera and with the fruity/floral Hayaati. Possibly going noseblind, cauz other people say they smell it from afar. It is a lovely innocent conbination with the dark/smoky twist from Royal and the floral elements reminding me of one of the 3 first frags I ever owned, Fleur du Mâle, where most of the juice is still retained.

Quite strong water and wood. Better than current Nautica. A fresh/chemical sharp uncomplicated scent for after sport, on a teen or young man. To complement name brand new sports clothes. Or Façonnable. Easy, breezy familiar fragrance of youth. For spring or summer evenings where bros hang outside - a city park, a football pitch grandstand, outdoor snack-bar, promenade, boardwalk. Too aquatic for a dark disco.

I get bergamot, fresh sea notes (not salty), geranium, and lavender. It smells like a dryer sheet. Doesn’t smell spicy to me at all. I don’t like the dryer sheet vibes or the lavender, but it definitely is a solid cheap option. smells similar to ADG absolu, but with a lot of lavender

I was able to sample this recently and found it in the same vain as Invictus Legend. Interesting for it was released before Legend.

Generic mass pleasing scent.. Scent 2/10 Longevity 6/10
