Licorice

This is the smell of walking toward a candy shop. It is an upscale candy shop in a tourist town: the kind that sells handmade marzipan fruits and triangle shaped bags of roasted nuts. The fragrance opens with a licorice accord. The licorice here is not at all woody or fennel like. It is light, ethereal, and tinged with delicious star anise. It reminds me of the sugar coating that cocoons Good and Plenty candies, or black jelly beans. The licorice is accompanied by a complex sugar accord. This is not burnt sugar, or cotton candy. Instead, this sugar is crystallized and fresh, like a rock candy lollipop. In the base, we are delighted with a few surprises. Confectioners sugar and buttercream icing join the party. They add a rich creamy vanilla to the perfume. Then, Jordan almonds appear: slightly roasted, with Amaretto liquor facets. However, more than the nuts themselves, I smell the sugar coating of the Jordan almonds. I recommend this to anyone, male or female, who enjoys a true gourmand. I define a true gourmand as a fragrance that stays edible from first spray to dry down. A true gourmand contains no musk or woods. This would be a delight for hardcore licorice lovers. I also think this perfume might convert a few people who think they don't like licorice, because it it so incredibly delicious. This perfume would shine best in Summer! It's nostalgic, like a walk on the boardwalk in your youth: a salty breeze from the ocean blowing, vendors of sugary connections all around.

I was very happy to find this on eBay. Excellent blind buy for gourmand lovers. To me the opening was a little like Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo - Mandorlo di Sicilia Acqua di Parma, but sharper. The dry down was also similar to Vanille Outremer. I sprayed this inside my blouse and could still smell it on my clothes the next day. Love it

Unique and addicting - I only wish it could last longer!!!!!!

This is a really interesting scent. You definitely get liquorice in the opening (I hate liquorice to eat) but the dry down smells of jelly sweets. I have to say this is absolutely delicious. A very fun and unique fragrance, one I think is a must try due to just how unique this is.

This is maybe a little too sweet for me on its own, but layering it with a woody or spicy fragrance improves it. Smells like black licorice and sugar. Doesn't last very long and isn't a very strong scent.
