Sweet Banana

First Impression (Dabber Sample) Sweet Banana is a beauty—a flormound with personality. She opens with a soapy lily of the valley that takes the lead, softened by a hint of sweet jasmine. The banana note plays a gentle supporting role—somewhere between a true banana and a candy-like Laffy Taffy twist, though it fades fairly quickly. There’s a soft freshness from citrus that blends with the green edge of tuberose and patchouli. Vanilla smooths things out with a subtle creamy vibe. A touch of musk brings in a nostalgic, slightly perfumey '90s aura. I don’t pick up any oud (Amen), but there is a light woody tone—nothing sharp or cedary, just faint in the background. This scent reminds me of a scent from my past, though I can’t quite place which fragranceor scent. Overall, I really vibe with her. She’s not overly sweet, not a gourmand, but she will layer well and holds her own as well. A lovely addition to my mile long wishlist 😆.

Never thought I'd smell a clean banana scent, but this definitely fits the bill. This is beautiful! I get a ton of tuberose, jasmine and musk, with a pretty banana lingering in the background. It's like a softer version of Bana Banana by L'Artisan Parfumeur. This is really nice, powdery, and inoffensive; I can't imagine too many people outright hating it. Source: Sample from LuckyScent. I will say this: the packaging needs a redo. It looks like a bottle for a fragrance that smells like banana taffy or something. I'm not sure how you'd make bananas look sophisticated or upscale but I guess they could hire an artist to figure that out.

Not the gourmand “sweet banana” I was expecting from the bottle. As others have said, the jasmine and lily of the valley come through a lot more than the vanilla, so this is a really unique scent! It’s not as green or as sweet as Bana Banana imo, but it’s probably more similar to that one than any other banana scent. It’s giving laundry day vibes with a fun twist. I prefer gourmand banana scents, but it’s so rare for a new perfume to smell this unique, and I really respect that. I think this is the stand-out from the new extrait collection

Interesting... very interesting. At first whiff, Sweet Banana lands like some surrealist cologne, lurid banana laffy taffy tangled in brisk white musks and a flash of eau de toilette citrus sparkle. There’s lily of the valley in here too, only this is the lab-made kind, with its cool, high-pitched squeal. It lends a soapy-glass sheen that somehow tempers the candy. Briefly. Very briefly. Then it unfolds. Slowly, like overripe fruit splitting skin, beneath the plasticky grin of that banana lying something thicker. Oud, not majestic nor brooding but sweaty and suspiciously wet, like a leather boot worn sockless in the rain. A dense bouquet blooms: choking white jasmine, gardenia petals, tuberose nectar, packed together so tightly they suffocate, exhale heat. Start to rot. Yet! Still, somehow, someway, a masculine cologne profile hums underneath it all, humming away like a freshly shaven finance bro after gym. It’s bizarrely compelling, I’ll admit. A tug-of-war between sugar and swagger, fruity topnotes laced over barbershop musk. Who does this? The audacity read charming to me, at least initially. But the longer it lingers, the stranger it grows. The vanilla turns waxy. The banana, once synthetic and giggly, curdles into something warm and vaguely milky, like banana pudding left in a stuffy plastic lunchbox under the sun. And the oud, oh, the oud. I've never done well with oud, but this one has really really fully entered foot cheese territory. Cheese. Why. I kept going back to it, nose-first, out of pure intrigue first, disbelief next, and finally disgust. Like a fever dream melting in reverse. Surreal, then sticky, then straight-up unsettling. And by the end, it’s not sweet banana at all. It’s fermented peel, forgotten florals, and the haunted memory of spilled parfum on polyester. Toddler-touched, grown-man-molested, de-flora-filed: Wow! That's one heck of a gourmand.

I received a small 5ml sample of this fragrance and came away very impressed. While it opens with a noticeable sweet banana accord, I would describe it overall as a predominantly floral scent. The opening presents a fresh, airy floral banana note that feels light, elegant and very pleasant. The banana accord gradually fades after around five minutes, allowing the floral heart to take centerstage while subtle woody and slightly oud-like nuances linger in the background. The oud is particularly well blended here. Rather than being heavy, animalic or challenging, it sits comfortably within the composition and complements the other base notes beautifully. Even those who typically shy away from oud fragrances should find this very approachable. Overall, I consider this a unisex fragrance, although it does lean ever so slightly feminine to my nose (speaking as a male wearer). That said, it is versatile enough for anyone to wear with confidence. A fantastic release and one I thoroughly enjoyed. The dry down musk-cedar-vanilla-patchouli combo is super addictive!!!
