Summer 26

Gosh, this is the loveliest Ffern perfume I've had so far. I find them hit and miss, but I feel like Elodie has been on a winning streak for a while: Winter 26 was extraordinary, and I also loved Summer 25 (I have skipped or returned the ones in between). But this one is really something special. It's a sweet perfume. There is sweet clementine, like candied clementine, in the opening. Then there is sweet pea, sweet basil, sweet jammy rose, and a sweet wheaty, powdery base, which is probably the bran note. The whole thing is sweet through and through, in a fresh, nuanced, well-composed way. It smellls like jam: it's both fresh and full-bodied. It's very sweet for a Ffern perfume. It doesn't have that citrus sourness that can make them smell like cat pee when it gets too hot. The rose also works far better than I expected. It all smells like a summer garden party, something with cake and pitchers of elderflower juice. It's fantastic.

I recently joined the Ledger for Winter 26 - which I loved - and skipped Spring 26 for fear of it being too feminine and floral (M,27 here). The announcement for Summer 26 (with the reveal of notes) had me excited. I was looking for a citrusy-green scent. Upon trial, it was almost too sweet rather than green-citrusy. Almost returned it, but I found myself coming back to it. Strong juicy citrus opening, into a light green and warm rose warm-down on my skin, which over time transforms into an earthy and summery grain with floral notes. Rose is present throughout, but not overpowering nor overly feminine. It's a unique, unisex scent, one that is outside my comfort zone. I received multiple compliments on the scent when wearing the trial, and kept finding myself wanting to smell it. So decided to keep it :)

Upon completing her perilous quest, the female knight victoriously rides her white horse back to her village's town square. She is greeted wth thunderous applause as her community drapes her in garlands and wreaths of floppy, fragrant roses, heavy with dew. Later in the evening, the townspeople come together to enjoy a banquet in the knight's honor, complete with a dessert of refreshing clementine and blackcurrant sherbert. The dragons have been slain, the kingdom has been saved, and now it's time for everyone to dance to the lute underneath the glittering lanterns hanging from the willow trees. They all lived happily ever after...

Opens with a beautiful intense grapefruit with a hint of bergamot and orange rind... you feel as if you are picking citrus fruit from a tree, the wind in your hair as an airy ozonic note wisps around you... the smell quickly dries down to smell like dry field, when the sun has been radiating for days on end, turning the grass into grey hay-like strands... and the hay smells so prominent, probably the vétiver... regardless I think it is a very summery sent that would not be out of place at almost any daytime occasion, my favourite ffern by FAR! Love it and wear it a lot

Soooo juicy and delicious with the jammy citrus notes, then the basil and bran forms a gorgeous earthy backround for the bright fruity floralness of it all. I've only tried the 2026 Ffern perfumes so far, but this one really stands out to me! I don't normally like fruity scents, because they often feel "generic" to me, but this scent is so addictive and complex. I just wish it lasted more than 15 minutes on me... I'm probably gonna go through my bottle really fast.

very yummy herbal smell. on my skin the basil really pops out, then ebbs into a sweeter citrus. definitely more of a sweet herbal than a green-y herbal. like a herb garden in the early morning summer sun. for sure a new favorite of mine... i only wish it lasted longer!

a friend gave this to me because they didn't like the scent but waited too long to return it. i wasn't familiar with ffern's model and now i'm sad i can't get another bottle when this one runs out, bc i'm sure it will! so yummy!!

I adoreeeeee this. I loved Winter '26, and I needed some time to come around on Spring '26 but this is so bright and I can detect EVERY note listed vividly. When I first sprayed it, I got all giddy. Closer to the skin, all of the ingredients blend together in such harmony that I can only call impressive. I understand why a lot of people think Ffern's fragrances smell the same, because there *are* common herbal and citrus notes, but I find it very easy to pick apart every small and large difference, and the smells and experiences all end up feeling very singular, very special. For example, this citrus is a lot more juicy and tart compared to Spring '26, and overall the composition smells less grassy and more like sunshine. Smells like a bright Cocteau Twins melody and the sun rays that peek through the trees. A freshly picked peach - just one - that still needs a little time before it ripens. Freckled skin that has soaked up most of the bug spray, and ever so slightly sweaty (affectionate) Summer '26 is far more beautiful than I am capable of describing lol - writing reviews always makes me feel so ridiculous!!!!

I can normally tell right away if I'm going to keep the new season of Ffern, but I really had to sit with this one for a while before I decided to keep it. It opens with bright, almost candy-sweet citrus, I get mostly the clementine and grapefruit, followed by neroli and basil. The dry down is more powdery than I expected (and more than I typically go for), but more of a natural, green-leaning sort of powder. I was worried I wouldn't like that rose/powder-y note, but it has grown on me. Different enough from Summer 25 and Spring 26 (both of which I absolutely adored!) that I decided to keep, but I would be lying if I said I didn't strongly consider skipping this one.

There is a specific Ffern DNA. I returned Spring 26 because, to me, it was simply too much of a citrus scent without enough depth. This Summer version, however, is more of a surprise. It opens with the sweetness of a summer morning: sweet oranges, warm light and a garden with roses/flowers slowly waking up. Then comes the scent of hay drying in the sun, which gives it a more pastoral, golden quality. I like it, it's sweet and light, and keep wanting to smell my wrist. Still, I’m not 100% convinced by the brand’s scent DNA yet, as Spring and Summer also do seem to resemble each other quite closely imo. I’ll give it two more seasons before making up my mind.

This would be a love if it lasted longer, which I understand is typical for Ffern fragrances. The first thing my brain said when I smelled it is "citrus rind on fire," in a great way. Such a burst of sunshine without being sweet. I don't mind the longevity issue all that much - happy to spray it on all day. It also lasts forever on the enclosed diffusing stone, which I keep by my desk and sniff all the time.

She's a bitter damsel; not an English rose. All the softness and juiciness that was conveyed in the promo photos (the citrus marmalade/gelatin slices... omg... my mouth was watering) were missing. No rose. No pulp or juice from the clementine. Just straight lemon rind and pepper. Very reminiscent of mosquito repellent. Perhaps if you like green and herbal perfumes, this will be your thing.

My first and last Ffern scent. The notes sounded fantastic-- I love citrus rind and I love rose-- but I got no citrus, no rose, besides their respective bitterness and heaviness. This was all terpenes and camphor on my skin. Since this isn't an uncommon experience for me with natural fragrance oils, I don't see the point in trying again as this is a naturals-focused house.

Thank god they let you return these because what on earth was that. If you want to smell like this get yourself to a souvenir shop in the Cotswolds and buy one those overpriced bar soaps that don't lather and smell like your granny's guest bathroom in the post-war period. Would probably last longer than this perfume too.

It smelt amazing at first, Fresh and green, I thought I had finally found a keeper, but after 20 mins it smelt 'muddy' and after 30 minuets it was gone, so no, not a keeper. Smelt great on the mouillette, and stayed that way for quite a while, but on skin...nope! Great on paper not so good on skin. Maybe it is time for me to give up !. I love the ethos of the product and the bits and pieces that come with it , but on the skin it is a non starter. Sad but true. This is my 3rd attempt and at first I thought it was the best yet, but in the end it smelt much the same as all the others and was gone!

all i could smell was pickles, and not even in a nice way... like pickles that have been sitting out for hours waiting to be put on a burger. incredibly disappointing. had my mom try it out and she felt it settled the same way on her. not sure if it’s just our skin or if anyone else felt this way, but definitely a let down.
