Pieces of My Heart

One of my favorite fragrances and a blind buy! There is something so unique within this fragrance that reminds me of being at the church my nana went to. It reminds me of the wet pavement in the courtyard on a rainy day and the deeply melancholic feeling I feel being in churches. I actually blind bought this soon after her passing and was grateful for how intensely this scent evoked these memories and feelings. Filigree and Shadow truly has some of the best and fragrances that feel so intentional.

This perfume is known to smell like a church in some way, and maybe it's because i never went to church growing up and it doesn't have that nostalgic quality for me, but i dont find that profile to be accurate. The most notable accord in this for me is almost a raspberry? Fresh but not juicy, and not so extremely fruity but i truly can't not smell raspberry. The wood and incense come through as well, and honestly smell so beautiful with this imaginary raspberry note. I've pointed it out to others who have agreed, although it's not listed i do find the chemistry to lend itself to a berry sweetness that i absolutely adore, even as someone who does not like fruit forward perfumes 99% of the time. Frankly i could be TOTALLY ALONE in this feeling but i think it is worth mentioning. its delish and i want a full bottle when James Elliott returns to perfumery after his move abroad.
