SUI GENERIS

Oh, i’m really into this. It’s an excellent going-out fragrance for this stage of my life: sweet, sexy, unusual, a little shocking with some edge. The bubblegum lasts a long time on my skin but never became nauseating. Wore it to a concert recently, and while it was the wrong choice for that crowd (think patchouli), every time my wrist was near me I thought Mm I smell soooo goooooood!

smells like the inside of a room that something terrible happened in, it's like wearing a dennis cooper novel. i was wearing this at a show that my friend met me at and when she gave me a hug she said, "oh my god, did you pee yourself?"

Soft, powdery, metallic bordering minerallic rose covered in a soft blanket of leather and rubber. This is a shocking very niche fragrance, and I've smelled a lot of shocking very niche fragrances before. This is super edgy and out there, bordering almost cloying but it's addicting. This smell is so many things at once and my nose is addicted. I keep going back and sniffing the sheet and then the atomizer, smelling something a bit different each time. The closest comparison that I can give is "Pipe Bomb Pink" by Blackbird, and even then the only similarity I can muster up is the soft, powdery rose; and even still this is much more metallic where PBP is plastic-y. I really like this! Not a love as this is a SUPER specific scent that really only works in the colder months (at least from what I can assume), and in very specific situations during the warmer months. It's a weird mix between this metallic zing, sweet bubblegum, super powdery rose, and bordering animalic leather, and I can dig it. The main image I get in my head with this fragrance is a 1980s party with two mob bosses staring each other down as the scent of powdery perfume and the dubble bubble gum of the women in the room mix together with the leather of the mens dried down cologne, and with a healthy dose of hot metal from the burnt shell casings. That specific moment of adrenaline, of passion, and of intrigue is what this perfume smells like. I know I always recommend smelling before you buy, but I am being serious about this one. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE TESTED IT, just because I think this blind buy was a success doesn't mean you should follow my advice. This is a niche fragrance through and through, and I have a feeling that those used to more traditional perfumes might not like this. I can dig this though. Not a love, but just like peoples sick fascination with car wrecks: it keeps pulling me back in. EDIT I have since traded it since as it has aged it gained a particular piss like quality that li didn’t care too much for. It was so pungent that there were a couple of times I would prank my friends by spraying this in their room (even 1 spray was enough) and it would smell like piss in there for a solid 24 hours.

My first ever scrub off! This scent choked me out. My room smelled like rubber for HOURS. Genuinely suffocating, but I keep coming back to it and expecting something different. Not sure as to why.
