cruising-area is fascinating - I absolutely love it I don’t get the gasoline others mention, but the medicinal facet is definitely there - to me it perfectly captures the atmosphere of a well-known gay hammam in Paris: intimate, steamy, and spicy 🥵 that said, it’s almost too clean - for something named after a cruising spot, I expected a bit more filth — a trace of latex, a lactic undertone, maybe even a hint of marine or sweat - it's seductive, but it lacks that edge of decadence - too polite for the name it wears - still, I recommend it and I’m seriously considering a full bottle - I’ll try the other samples from the collection first to see if one goes even deeper

Opens with patchouli and spices along with some dry wood Musty and moldy notes take over then - such of an old cellar that was closed and damp for a while As this settles patchouli and some spices along with resins and wood emerge So basically we have a musty earthy cellar but it is also filled with patchouli and spices

This feels like the cruising area is the bathroom of a museum. Deep wood resins and realistic oil-painting smell combined with the dense sharpness of a tile cleaner. The patchouli note balances it perfectly. I'm obsessed.

cold mildewy walls, condensed humidity and strooooong patchouli. I dislike the applicator, but it's my absolute favourite sorcinelli fragrance. I think it's a well-balanced unusual but very wearable everyday perfume!

The smell of walking through a graveyard at night just after the rain, love. My only complaint is the roll on ball bottle, really wish it was a spray.

For all the woods and spices here I get something nautical about it. Not a fresh, ocean air “beachy” scent by any means. Picture an old, rotting wooden dock that is decaying from old, murky seawater and covered in algae. Though, simultaneously I also get car dealership which is a peculiar combination, no doubt, but not exactly an unwelcome one. I put this on before work and started to doubt my choice as I was emitting the smell of a rotten boardwalk and mildew, but it grew on me when I went outside and it paired well with the muggy, rainy weather. That being said, this is what I’d consider to be the most wearable out of what I’ve tried from the X SÉ line, as well as my personal favorite out of the bunch (though I do have a patchouli bias ;) )

What a weird guy, Sorcinelli... His signature is always very present. It's blaaaack, but beautiful. I have a camphor balm on the very first notes of the head, very powerful, with a Vicks Vaporub effect (maybe it's said a little vulgar, to talk about such noble products, but that's what it is). The evolution goes through a small moment of black smoke/plastic, tire or burning plastic, which fits particularly well with the picture. Then I'm left with deep woody notes, both wet and dry (like having your palm filled with a handful of peat from the rain, and another from the dryness), and even dusty, like the little mess of dirt you find at the bottom of old planting pots left for a few years in the back of the garage. Very beautiful.

I don’t like that it’s a roll on, because it comes a lot more that what I want in one area. It’s kinda intensive so I kinda want it to be in a spray bottle but it is what it is. I bought this perfume because of the story behind it, but when it came I did not picture that story in front of me. To me is a walk in the forest under the fall. It’s not sexy or weird. It feels like something that can be from Olympic orchids. I like the perfume, but it’s absolutely not what I thought it was going to be.

This evokes a damp, dusty environment with wet wood and traces of smoke with just a hint of something medicinal or astringent. I don't experience this as sexually charged or outright dirty. If anything, it's how I imagine the smell of a video game RPG dungeon like Skyrim - wet ferns, damp wood and an old camp fire. Unmistakable quality with good longevity and projection but I'm not sure I have any use for this.

Sorcinelli explores his shadow side. Gone is the sweetness and baroque artistry of church/liturgy- based fragrances such as LAVS, Reliqvia and Lux Visionaria. With cruising-area, we plunge into what the perfumer describes (in a strangely demure translation) as a "hidden, underground space, with inaccessible and dark passages, with mouldy walls and full of ephemeral pleasure." I was expecting something animalic, rich in body-fluids and raw sensuality, but cruising area is actually rather vanilla. If only vanilla were present! The mouldy walls are definitely to the fore, with a strong vetiver-soaked-in-TCP antiseptic accord, but there isn't much pleasure to be had in this relentlessly downbeat fragrance. After the opening medicinal blast the fragrance moves into a sour petrichor zone: damp earth, rotting wood and dying vegetation. Depending on your point of view, it's either masterly olfactory storytelling or a right stink.

Quickie and Coffee is nice but unwearable, cyber-sex is unBEARable, this is the first one from the line I've smelled that could actually be worn out in public. That almost seems like a failure for a line that aims to be this risque and transgressive, but rest assured it's still really weird. It just happens to be weird in a way that I don't think would make people around you scatter. If you smell it straight off your skin you get a very strange blast of chemical-y cleaner sorts of smells in a way that almost invokes a recently cleaned public restroom (but not in the citrus-y way). Combine that with a camphorus vick's vapor rub style blast and some woodsy, pine-y undertones and you're left with something a lot of people would be okay with smelling. The astringent chemical-iness isn't there nearly as much when you're catching wafts of it in the air.

Berghain when empty. This is the smell of VOID, and cement of an empty industrial space. After a rave. Absolutely NOT animalic at all, this is elegant. ( i thought it would be as i 've been many times ) LOVE LOVE ! This is capturing the smell of GRAY and VOID in a scent in the best way possible. 100/10

Just got mine today. Interesting but i thought it was going to be darker. To my nose, its fresh, minty. Sure it gives a forest vibe, but more of an industrial version i would say. I unfortunately do not get gasolin or latex even. Lasts a long time!

smells exactly like wet moss and it’s very strong. it’s something I find really nice if i smell it on a rainy day outside. But it’s not something I’d personally like to smell like. I can’t seem to find any other notes in the dry down.

Smells like moss in a forest. If you are looking for a perfume that smells like walking in the forest, this is it.
