I don't know in italian, or in english, but in french épicentre can also be used in contexts other than an earthquake, you may extend the meaning to "the heart of". So the more I think about it, the more it appears to me that this name is an excellent idea, it transcends the catastrophe and gathers us around core values, empathy and solidarity for people who have seen their village, home, life destroyed. And I hope I will have the chance to smell it soon...

Maybe the most complex fragrance of Filippo Sorcinelli. Woody, resinous notes dominate, with the cedar in the foreground, strong and immovable. With a tea note of citrus bergamot and vegetable-like hints in the base, it becomes milder at the end. The longevity and sillage are rather moderate despite the bitter fragrance character. Fragrance: 8.5/10, Longevity: 7/10, Sillage: 7/10, Flacon: 10/10.

Woody aromatic is a great descriptor. I have a fascination with Viride and Absinthe and this hits me very similarly. Not exactly though. The angelica steals the show. Makes me think of autumn or spring and it’s one that I wear for myself. Not really a crowd pleaser but if you like Viride you should love this.

Smells like aftershave, in a good way tho Edit: just used it today, loved it actually, very fresh and great as it dries down, masculine and woody, a bit of sweetness from the amber, loved this. 8/10

just as unique and weird as i thought it would be: at first i couldnt detect any actual note and could just say that this for sure is a fresh, green and aromatic scent (basically an all year round perfume), and then it hit me: something reminded me of celery, and thats when i found out what “angelica” is, quite pleasant even though its slightly off putting. there is something about this scent i truly cannot describe, and im not even sure about my opinions on this perfume: all i know is that i probably wouldn’t buy it, but as a concept its very interesting and well realized. as someone who was actually inside of the epicenter of the earthquake that inspired this perfume (central italy back in 2016), this fragrance evokes something deep inside of me about that event, something i cannot put into words, so even though i dont really love the scent i must appreciate all the meaning and the work behind it. bravo sorcinelli. 7.5/10

This is the scent of the stuff that is the smell of incense sticks mixed with the green smell of the fields when I returned to my grandmother's house in the country during the Obon season in summer in Japan.

Odd bottle, not so odd fragrance. After years of wanting to sample this, I finally found it in a store and immediately had to try. Initially it is a pretty strong and straight forward citrus, which caught me by surprise as I'm a huge fan of this brand and I know the style of most other perfumes, which are much more incense based and woody. The drydown doesn't change this surprised impression in the slightest as the citrus calms down a bit and it transitions into more of a green, herbal scent, which reminds me of fragrances like Absinthe by Nasomatto or Amazingreen by Comme des Garcons. There is a woody base in the late drydown, however it is still more on the green, fresh side, rather than some of his other work, which goes in more of a smoky direction. The bottle is very impressive, I absolutely love it, and the story is fantastic too. However I'm left a bit unimpressed with this. I was expecting a smoky, dark, possibly dusty fragrance that evokes the feelings of an epicenter after an earthquake - collapsed houses or churches, a melancholic, possibly depressed feeling that some of the other fragrances give me. This is fresh, calm, almost peaceful and friendly and while I do have a soft spot for fragrances like that too, this one is just lacking something to me. The impressive bottle, the beautiful story and poetry just don't fit the fragrance all that well, or maybe I'm just missing something. I love this house, I absolutely adore the bottle and I really wish I loved this, so I could have this beautiful bottle in my collection. Sadly I do not, which is why this one will be firmly placed in the "okay" category. I'm sure there will be people out there who love this but to me it's just.. okay.

The opening is a strong vegetable-green scent. I originally thought it contained a celery note, and it strongly reminded me of my grandma's pantry. The scent then shifts to a cheap aftershave or shaving foam nuance, followed by the most horrendous dry-down I have ever experienced in my life- a sweaty armpit smell trying to be covered up by cheap cologne. This was such a surprise because I was mesmerized by the stories behind these creations and their bottles, along with the biography of the creator and the fact that he donated money from the sales of this fragrance to a city that was tragically destroyed by an earthquake. Unfortunately, this fragrance is really bad.

Thoughts on a sampling... * Starts out citrusy fresh and somewhat formal or posh like. * That only lasts a few minutes as it morphs into a pharmaceutical minty green, like that of a mouthwash or better yet like an arthritic muscular cream type ointment. * It remains a medicinal mint till the end. * Which for me became quite annoying. * Luckily it only lasted 3 hours and then became a faint skin scent. * Projects moderately though short lived. ** Final thought. This is what the Dental School practice lab would smell like if Listerine chewing gum were administered simultaneously to all of the patients.

nasty dry bitter herb - can appreciate it but would never want to smell this on a person

I’ve been wearing this for over 2 years now, and I still can’t fully understand it. At first glance, it seems fresh and luminous, but the emotions it evokes are anything but fresh - it feels dry, austere, and dusty. The earthquake backstory is conveyed perfectly. Notes are hard to distinguish because many of them fight for attention, creating a sense of adrenaline and anxiety. It opens with dry herbs and bitter citruses, accompanied by cold, arid, raw, and intense wood. Beyond the "real" notes, I strongly perceive metal, rust, stone, concrete, gasoline, and other technogenic textures that, while probably imaginary, feel vividly present. Overall, it creates futuristic, electric, mechanical, and brutalist atmosphere. If the world of BLAME! by Tsutomu Nihei had a scent, this would be it. Performance is excellent, it lasts over 10 hours on my skin, and the projection is crazy. It’s very intense - 3 sprays is enough to get me a headache and turn my eyes red. Performance 10/10 Scent 8/10 Associations 8/10

I think Sorcinelli is one of those people who really have a "signature". In this case, it is rather "light" for a perfume of his portfolio (well, light compared to his other creations, because nothing is light in the common acceptance of the term with him), with top notes in very contemporary bergamot, city, drawn with a black line, thick, symmetrical, something of that magnitude. There is always a little "nutty" aftersmell in his perfumes, which I can't really explain to myself. Could it be the animal part? I also have the green astringent mate aspect, but I don't know the smell of calamus at all, so I can't say. I'm honestly having a hard time disentangling all the notes, and I get more of an extremely contemporary, urban panorama, like fluorescent yellow sneakers on a gray Parisian sidewalk.

hello filippo, personally I strongly believe in your credibility and integrity some people negatively interpret the actions of others. a young designer would like to stand out from the mainstream followed by fashion traders and big brands and look for the good cause ... good luck for your perfume work and your commitment to rebuild this church

The opening packs a PUNCH. Many strong competing(?) notes settle into a surprisingly harmonious but still anxiety-inducing earthy, metallic, herbal smell. I see bent rusted rebar poking out from a cracked concrete wall, dust (pleasant), soil. The balsamic note stands out to me. Perhaps not for everyone but really beautiful

Sweet! but not gourmand... 5+ in and the scent is sweet! not vanilla sweet nor gourmand but i get that amberic sweet with some ambrette, touch of balsam, & maybe angelic. Nice to be honest with this type of balanced sweetness.
