Only a perfumer like Sorcinelli could offer simultaneously both a profound meditation on the Resurrection of Christ and an intimate fragrance which confidently extends the borders of his art. The fragrance itself is conceived as an olfactory evocation of the scene on Easter Day: the costly ointments prepared for the anointing of the body of Jesus. Its presentation offers symbolic representations of the Easter Gospel: the cap recalls the stone rolled away from Christ's tomb and the wrapping, the linen cloths that covered his body . Even its name is taken from a text used in the Easter liturgy, drawn ultimately from Psalm 18 : 'Haec dies quam fecit Dominus; exultemus et laetemur in ea'. ('This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.') Sorcinelli is strongly influenced by his Catholic roots. His childhood revolved around church activities in a small town of in his native Italy. Steeped in Catholic liturgy, he flirted for a time with the priesthood, then had successive/parallel careers as a church organist, a perfumer and maker of liturgical vestments. At the same time he has been strongly influenced by a creative Goth subculture, manifesting art and design which treads a provocative line between a sensitive and inclusive aesthetic and dark-clad, edgy kickback against political/religious control. Sorcinelli's fragrances seem to emerge from this creative matrix and Haec Dies is no exception. It presents a fascinating play on the notion of Osmogenesia, or the Odour of Sanctity - the sweet and pure aroma that traditionally arose from the corpses of Christian saints. The risen Jesus had no need of the perfumes which his followers had prepared to mask the stench of corruption because his body was transformed from death into a new life. And whereas conventional Christianity originally discouraged the wearing of perfume as indulgent and posing a danger to virtue, Sorcinelli boldly asserts its transformative power. Just as the ordinary stuff of resin is transformed into fragrant incense smoke (a very catholic-sacramental thing to happen), the person who burns the incense is caught up in a moment of piety or faith. Likewise, the person who indulges in rich fragrances enters into a moment that suspends ordinary awareness and opens out the potential for an ecstatic experience. Far from being absent from the body (and hating its capacity for sin and death), this experience - like sex - is visceral, physical and celebratory. Sorcinelli's transgressive instinct restores the body and its desires to their proper place in the Christian tradition. Enough theology! The fragrance itself presents a cornucopia of sensory pleasures. It opens with a froth of Spring freshness: citrus and Spring blossom set the sweet tone that deepens with successive waves of rosy incense, without any of the spiciness of Reliqvia or coolness of LAVS from the same house. The dry down is a long, lingering- and very contemporary- bathe in powdery, vanillic and ambery notes. It remains on the skin all through the day and into the night. Perfectly sweet, perfectly unisex, perfectly constructed. Exultemus et laetemur in ea! Alleluia!

The opening feels fresh and uplifting with aloe, citrus, and a touch of jasmine. After a while, the peach and rose come forward, giving it a juicy sweetness, while myrrh and cedar add a subtle resinous warmth. As it dries down, I get a smooth blend of vanilla, musk with just enough sandalwood and patchouli to keep it grounded. On my skin, it lasts a solid 7–10 hours, projecting softly but steadily. It feels powdery, airy, and elegant throughout—never heavy, just beautifully balanced. To me, it’s refined yet comforting, something I could wear all day without it ever becoming overwhelming.

Creamsicle and sweet tarts. I really get the orange, peach, aloe, and vanilla. It’s nice, powdery and sweet. My only issue with it is that it seems to disappear after 30 mins of wearing. I don’t really get any of the woody or patchouli notes. It’s light and airy and very pretty. I just wish it lasted longer and projected more.

does any one have a problem with the atomizer, mine stopped spraying just after 2 uses.

This is my first sample from this house, and I'm not into perfumery that is goth, churchy, or has a leather jacket aesthetic. So my apologies for liking, what sounds like, the only mainstream-friendly scent from this house, lol. My vibe is fairly classic, femme and elegant, and this scent reminds me of some of my favorite musky peachy and vanilla scents--Gritti from Gossip Night, Ylang in Gold from M. Micallef. But there is a strange rubber/plastic/antiseptic note that other reviewers have mentioned. Also, my dabber sample--I've reapplied 3 times now, so that typically indicates low projection and longevity. I find myself wishing for more myrrh--more depth to counterbalance the sweetness. It's interesting for sure, but I think, for me, too close to the above perfumes I already have in my collection. I say that, but I'm still sniffing my arm, so there's a small, toxic part of me that thinks I should buy a bottle and see how an atomizer changes the experience. LOL.

The first time I tried HÆC DIES in store, it felt sweet, powdery, and musky. At home, the sample opened fresh and bright with bergamot, orange, aloe vera, and hints of jasmine. After a while, the vanilla base came forward adding warmth to it which I really liked. I’ll definitely be wearing it for Easter, as it’s a beautiful fragrance that captures Jesus’ resurrection for me.

Initially, I found this scent to be overbearingly powdery-heavy-sweet and suffocating. Over the course of the day, it mellowed into a perfect rendition of a church basement. Does not suit me personally for regular wear, but I can see this being wearable for others. Deeply impressed by Sorcinelli's ability to build a world within this scent.

Beautiful light, fruity skin scent that begins the slightest bit green then envelopes the wearer in soft musk with just enough myrrh to be detected. The scent of someone you want to be close to.

It somehow really smells how the bottle looks. Like sand, but really angelic. I like it tho

An alien spilled aloe vera juice on my potpourri. 8/10

Sweeter, more femme, and almost more mainstream than the usual dark-and-smoky Sorcinelli wheelhouse; though the house's signature resin and incense miasma does steal in and serves to sketch some shadows into the corners. The twangs of patchouli, cedar and myrrh give it enough quasi-religious, quasi-spiritual seriousness to head off most of the heady, florally top - there are, somehow, some churchy moments in there. Definitely for mature adults rather than innocent kids. But sadly even this man's predictably, gorgeously, twisted variation on the theme of floral cannot reconcile me to my own personal (scent) demon: the sin of the cloying flesh that is PEACH - too mortally, fatally present throughout to let me settle with it. While a dedicated fan of the gothier, more black-jacket-and-low-life scents of the house - this one I can safely leave at the aisle, feeling no guilt about it. Sorcinelli pricing seems a little venal for something so close to the middle market in its aura. Might work for those who want to spend big on genuinely oddball floralcy, but certainly no blind buy.

Peach forward fruit salad. Some vanilla cream whipped in for a bit of decadence. Effectively, this is Sorcinelli’s entry into the fruit-chouli arena, and though it’s pretty mundane and pedestrian I do have to say it’s at least far from being an overwrought mess as are so many in the genre. However, this is likely an effect of Sorcinelli’s modus operandi in the delivery of his perfumes; I have yet to try all of the brand’s offerings but of the many I have experienced they have been quiet, timid and meek little things - far from the characteristics and personalities you typically get with extrait concentrations. Though a criticism that may be, it does serve HD well. Obviously and of course what emerges on the dry down is a lactone heavy sandalwood, and a more pronounced patchouli note; you don’t need to wait for it to know, nor does it take that long to arrive either. The materials used are photorealistic, so there’s another high mark that not many in the genre can claim, but, alas, it’s boring, uninspired, and pointless.

The opening smells like Ocean Potion!

#1753 in my “Tour de Fragrance” "Haec dies quam fecit Dominus”, from Psalm 118:24, known as "the Egyptian Hallel.” Even as a seminarian and former pastor I find that using that as marketing pitch is way over the top. But in truth pretty much every marketing pitch in the fragrance world is over the top. I doubt anyone but enthusiasts like us read it or think it’s anything but silly, and I don’t think anyone will pay $350 for this scent as a result. Just like I don’t think anyone buys Sauvage because they saw Johnny Depp pitch it and say, “Dior” with a phony French accent. But as usual, I digress. I thought this would be a great scent. Except for the aloe the notes are almost identical to Roja Dove “Risque Pour Homme” which is pretty nice. But turns out I was justly skeptical of the aloe, which makes scents smell like a cucumber salad. It doesn't smell anything like “Risque Pour Homme." Except for the myrrh this would remind you of Kenneth Cole’s “Mankind Ultimate” and Benneton's "Green Cactus”, EDTs I donated to a men’s shelter a few years back. What’s left when the aloe fades? Turns out not much of anything with this scent. A little myrrh and a hint of peach and wood. As the previous reviewer notes, vaguely metallic. Nothing of interest or attractive to me. The quality is okay if you go heavy, which makes the dry down better, but still. Here’s the thing men. Roja Dove “Risque Pour Homme” has all these notes except the aloe, lasts all day, smells great, is very attractive and in the same price range. So if you’re fortunate enough to be able to buy scents in this price category, then you can afford a great scent like Roja Dove “Risque Pour Homme.” Paying $350 for this Sorcinelli scent will not bring anyone closer to God. it certainly refers to the smell of an ointment. I can only repeat myself with other reviews: powdery, clean, musky, a splendid rose note that involves everything with light fruity and jasmine traits. Is it worth 300 euros for the packaging, the concept and the story? I don't think so, it will be blasphemy and Sorcinelli will forgive me, but it tastes like baby wipes. neither more nor less. Disappointment. The premiere of Sorcinelli.4/10 Excellent performances.

The perfume is a tribute to Easter, which I love with all my heart. This is by far my favourite holiday! I was looking for something bright and sparkling, a scent that would convey at least part of the Easter glory and bliss. When I tried this one, I was unimpressed. The perfume is definitely not bad, but it is yet another fruity floral, a little bit shampooney. What is more, the package, which as I see intends to convey the message of Resurrection, is not handy to use, but most importantly, the cardboard packaging has a depiction of the Crown of Thorns on it. What is the customer supposed to do with it? Throw it in a waste bin? Even the idea of paying money for something that has a Crown of Thorns on it seems somewhat wrong to me. On balance, no perfume I guess is able to transmit the Easter joy, which I wish all the Christians to experience and cherish throughout the whole year. ❤️

I wore this fragrance to a New Years Eve party where i was repeatedly complimented and followed throughout the night. A man stopped me and said, "im a fragrance collector, and I need to know what you're wearing, what house, what year, etc...because you smell amazing honey." I laughed. He said, "Honey God must have been the perfumer on that! I replied close and told him the inspiration behind the fragrance and the perfumer. Ps.I layered it with olibanum by Profumum Roma. I will never allow myself to run out of HÆC DIES !!! EVER!

Lancome Tresor vintage with a lush jungle bitter green. This is better than Angelique Noire for sure. Doesn't have syrupy sweetness. I've been eyeing this bottle for a year or 2. Its a big step up from the baseball bat line he had. Which was my introduction to the brand. I'm not sure if its full bottle worthy just because the green can be off putting to some. Salad vibes in your sillage but upclose its beautiful. General public isn't into such niche and the scent could be easily interpreted incorrectly.

The bottle would make you think this is a super niche, heavy complex scent. But the juice could t be more opposite. I never realized that I knew what aloe smells like, but I guess I do because I can pick it out easily in the opening of this perfume. I also get the citrus and peach. It smells very clean and fruity, but there is also a subtle gourmand quality underneath (I mainly get the vanilla). It has a sort of hyper-clean, nose tickling quality that turns me off. Overall this is rather underwhelming.

Strong sacred flowers. ( of course ) Citrussy and bright. Love the opening and story behind the fragrance. But in the drydown there is a hint of metallic and strong animalic for me i can't get fully behind. Hard for me to wear.

Smells like a beautiful altar in an Italian castle and pear knowing that everything you prayed for will come true. A stone capilla filled with creamy expensive vanilla amber candles with light incense and clean classy musk.

I can tell you that is the same as casmir by chopard. I have both And there is a slightly differences. I can say that i feel bad that i ve paid 350€ for f.p but first when i smelled it seems totally diferent

Beautifully light, fruity-floral, skin-scent that gives me a slight feeling of something latex - like putting my nose into a box of powdered surgical gloves.

On paper this smells like fresh pears, pears, pears! I will update after testing on skin.
