Peinture d'Homme

I agree with Aleksjanko, Peinture d'Homme has a distinct barnyard/stables vibe, but without a fecal note. It is hard to wrap my brain around or explain why it smells as good as it does. It is ultimately a lovely resinous barnyard incense. There is a similar accord in the opening of Sorcinelli's Plein Jeu III-V, and it is interesting to have it isolated here. The cumin is not problematic, and I struggle to detect it in its archetypical/controversial form. Hours in a lovely powdery/mossy note emerges. I wish I could do the scent justice, but I really do not understand what is going on. It is very distinct from its Unico Suono siblings, Le Devin and La Lumière, and in my mind deserves a separate release in a larger bottle.

I spent a lot of time on a farm as a child and this is for me true smell of stables. Hay, straw, dirt from under the hoves, horse, old wood, leather. I like it, maybe i am just nostalgic.

Opens with a blast of cinnamon and patchouli, but the cinnamon quickly makes way to the cumin mixed with some carrot. There is something else wafting about, perhaps the cypriol? Generally It's a very spicy, stinky cumin bomb. I don't hate it, though I struggle to call it wearable. Not something I would ever want a full bottle of.
