Pioggia Moderata

this is my personal favorite out of the three pioggia frags. the others smells a bit too generic aquatic for me, they arent bad, just not what im after. this one however smells like a damp moldy basement. it opens with a rather offputting note of mosquito repellant but it settles. its unique and thats why i adore it, offputting if youre not adventurous thats for sure

This fragrance is perfect for rainy dark days, the earthy note is very strong and very unisex. This fragrance smells like a priest is walking through a dark forest with pine needles on the ground in heavy rain. This fragrance is class. Test first before buying as some call it generic when they smell this. But its unique in my opinion 9.7/10

I see where this was going, but I think it falls a little short. I love fragrances that can photo-realistically capture certain scent-memories, like Steamed Rainbow and Warm Bulb. These are unique and extremely well-done scents that paint a very specific picture. Separate but related, petrichor scents tend to disappoint in that they don't actually smell like petrichor, but rather only emotionally suggest it. I think Sorcinelli captured that rain smell very well, better than I have ever smelled. It's a very accurate, realistic petrichor accord. However, there is something super smoky here and it steals the show from what is otherwise quite lovely. There's nothing in the notes here that is suggesting to me what that smoky note could be, but it is very powerful. Someone here said "smoked ham," and they are right in that there is something quite meaty about it. I would love to smell this without whatever that note is, but who knows, it might be integral to the petrichor accord with some weird, smoked meat overhang and removing it could unravel the whole thing. When you smell it up close to the skin, the smokiness abates and the scent is what it's really meant to be. Sorry that the people around me can't experience the same thing and that I smell like a barbeque that you had to move to the covered deck because it started raining to them from a foot or two away. Either way, the wet earth after rain accord is masterful, but the smoky note is clunky. This could be a real marvel if refined. I wish I could give it higher, but overall, 6.5/10.

A much darker scent than the other Pioggia, and in this case more reminiscent of his Human Voices series. It smells like slightly spiced Terrasol and dried and sticky flowers, like soot, fire, wood and mushrooms. Rotten wood, perhaps, a cellar, confined and dark places. My partner also gets a note of bloody skin or iron. The cistus/patchouli/thym aspect is reminiscent of what you'd find in the world of natural perfumery and essential oil-based fragrances, with about three times the staying power. It's clearly not a perfume I would wear on a daily basis (I'm really struggling to imagine how and who could wear it), but it's a kind of diorama, a mix of scents we all know, and which is revealed in several really interesting layers. Nice, then, but to test absolutely before investing. And for the record, I don't think that the packaging is really in dialogue with the juice. I would have imagined a wooden bottle and a dark and liquorish juice.

Yes, I also get the overall mildew/mold aspect with a slight chemical-type note too; almost like a printer's ink. Leaning into still, dank, dark pond imagery. Nonetheless, I'm drawn to it and could see wearing it often if I owned it (I think). Possibly more a smell, than a perfume. Would like someone else to wear it to see how it reads.

It's humid, it's wet, it's moldy, it's decomposing organic matter on the forest floor. It's both repelling and fascinating. Absolutely unwearable to me but an amazing work nonetheless!

great scent for rainy day. On me it opens with a slightly smoky, ozonic and earthy scent. The only small flaw I find is that it is a bit synthetic.

The black sheep of the Atmosphere d'Emotion line💔 I worshipped and appreciated every single one so far, but this is so not it. The very first thing that hit me was the odor of smoked ham with just a wink of concrete smell. Then it becomes a more approachable smoke with a heavier and more damp concrete smell. And then it disappears completely. Metaphorically it felt like I was stuck at the construction site during a thunderstorm. Very industrial, not very pleasant.

Waxy-aldehydic citronella with a faintly smoky undertone. Does have an aquatic quality, but not in a way that suggests 'moderate rain'. Feels a bit unsettled, with limited structural cohesion, yet more distinctive than another two in the Pioggia collection.

Starts off with a blast of ozone and smokiness, also kinda camphor-y idk (reminds me of vicks vaporub). It smells like a super aggressive storm if you can imagine that. I can kinda see why people say smoked ham, to me it’s like bbq sauce, but it subsides pretty quickly. But then not too long after, the dry down is absolutely beautiful. The warm musk, a warm but no so overbearing asphalt, and what somebody described as sticky flowers come through, peering through the stormy skies like golden rays of sunshine during golden hour. Throughout the whole thing, the raininess is very consistent. I enjoyed this one 9/10 Edit: i love this one now. 10/10. Surprisingly a compliment getter.

When i smelled it first time i told, it smells like wet wall, almost like moldy wall. The mold also correnspond me withe the design of the cup of bottle. It is something like smell of humid basement with marine tones or when is dusty dirty asphalts of the metropolitan city washed by rain. It is really niche to interpret this kind of smell,definitely will not buy full bottle of this, but its not so bad. I will use my sample like room perfume.

Beatiful masterpiece !!!! Soil wet from the rain and some feeling of silence and emptyness. Still wearable if you are a bit experienced, absolutely intriguing. I'm the forest, amongst tall green trees, the rain stopped, all is silent . I feel emotional void inside me of me, and stillness in the moment. Love this !

No matter how you put it the reality that this smells like mold will not change. However, it’s somewhat pleasant and something you’d find in a garden (like the rotting, moldy roots of over-watered flowers) rather than a moldy cheese. But still, it’s literally just mold. I don’t judge anyone who is into this btw.

Smells almost literally identical to Tonnerre from Beaufort London. Performance is about the same too. I think the imagery is more on point for the scent with the Beaufort, though.
