I'm A Musk

I tested this at Target. I probably wouldn’t have even smelled it if my boyfriend didn’t pick it up and spray it first since musk isn’t usually something I would pick myself. This fragrance is very nice however... so nice that after spraying myself I couldn’t stop smelling it. I didn’t purchase it when I tested it but I loved it so much I went back after an hour and bought it. It is light and a beautiful creamy musky scent. I love that it has a subtle warmth and nothing that competes with the more masculine musk notes. It smells great on my skin and clothing and I think it is appropriate for all occasions and weather. I would say it’s quite unisex, smells neither overly feminine or masculine. Smelled good on my boyfriend and myself. I have been craving the scent of this since I tested it and it’s very rare for me to feel that way about a scent! The best part is the price. For $28 you cannot go wrong AND it is cruelty free which is really amazing because it can be hard to find cruelty free fragrances at a lower price like this. I will definitely be buying this again when I run out.

Yeah, it smells like fresh, clean paper/cotton to me until pretty far into the dry down process. It’s really nice, tho. It’s an inoffensive clean scent & very wearable in environments where you don’t want (or can’t have) much perfume scent. It dries down to a lightly powdery, woody & ever-so-slightly sweet scent. On the test strip, it’s still pretty strong smelling after 24 hours. No skin test yet. And I get no pickle scent from it. Edit on 10/8/24 I LOOOOVE this. It’s a perfect scent for those early fall chill-in-the-air kind of days. I’m wearing this soooo much right now & really enjoying it. I have to spray it everywhere, tho, if I want it to be even slightly detectable after a few hours. For the best performance, I make sure to moisturize my skin so the scent sticks longer & I put it on my clothes too. The next day, I can still smell a very light sweet scent on the clothes I wore, but it’s 100% gone from my skin. And, for what it’s worth, I discovered it layers nicely with KayAli’s Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli.

Guys, I bought it today! I read somewhere these are being discontinued, but my local Target was fully stocked with every Fine'ry offering. I'll probably buy the Cherry & Santal ones too. They're honestly so good for a $30 fragrance. I'll update again when I put "I'm a Musk" on one arm and "Another 13" on the other, and give you the real real. Notes listed on box: Musk Cotton Flower Sandalwood Ok, so I am back, mission accomplished. They do open much differently. IAM has a dill-like sandalwood and sweetness, while A13 opens with bright bergamot and juicy pear. However, once the drydowns are in full effect, I can hardly tell them apart and forget which arm I sprayed with which; the difference being IAM is slightly sweeter than A13. If you want to make your IAM experience even closer to the true A13 experience, layer it over Juliette has a gun Pear Inc.! There you have it folks -- the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Got this perfume from target because I needed a break from my Juliette has a gun, superdose and Diptyque papier. Those are amazing rice, sesame, musk fragrances, but too high to be spraying the way I do. Took a nice hot shower with old spice vanilla and Shea butter body wash with an African net sponge. Then slathered myself in saltair saltwater and vanilla body oil. Then sprayed the perfume all over my body before putting on a nightgown. I guess I would say this was layering or simple body care, but it has been radiating off of me for the last three hours. I do not get pickles. I just get extremely clean, sweet feminine. But then again, I scrub my skin absolutely every single day TWICE a day so there’s no leftover sweat or oil. I also wash my hair often. And I do laundry at least once a week. so there is no space for the pickle smell, because my hygiene is top-tier.

My skin pulls a lot of clean laundry white musks with a tonka bean sweetness and saltiness. It is soft, nutty, and has a cologne like quality to it that makes me sniff it constantly. The fragrance projects intimately on me without lotion or oil, so much so that my boyfriend and my family told me that I smelled really good and is perfect for layering with Montblanc Signature and smells amazing layered with MixBar’s Coconut Palm. However, when I sprayed a little on my boyfriend, it smelled like fresh dill with a hint of musk. I think that if your skin chemistry works well with Ambroxan, then this a perfect fragrance to put on after a shower before bed, a date night indoors, or running errands during the cooler spring and summer to fall transition months.

EDIT: I don't think it smells like Molecule 01 at all actually even when mixed w others. It lacks woodiness and is more creamy and sweet. Lasts all day for me. Clean, musk, airy, and slightly sweet. The sandalwood in this predominantly stands out on my skin for me - pulls really creamy and slightly coconutty. I don't really get any cotton as per notes on their site, just musk and sandalwood. By itself, I wouldn't say it's a perfect dupe for Molecule 01 (and definitely not Cloud) but layered with Juliette Has A Gun Not a Perfume, I could see that. Sure, a scent that has been done before but for the price it makes sense. I like it!

This is for absolute certain, trying to dupe Another 13. Whether it’s pulling it of spectacularly or not is subjective. But, Another 13 is the thing. I think I’m A Musk is a bit stronger or like, a bit more tenacious - that’s it - not stronger necessarily. The tiniest bit sweeter too but still soft and incredibly comforting. I feel like, with such a MUUUUSKY profile, so much specific scent “detail” is kind of lost to the diaphanous nature of the style that it seems almost a waste to be doing too much in there, you know? I don’t know. I’m A Musk is like a crispy clean white cotton duvet to Another 13’s white cotton eyelet duvet.

So I have got another 13 and I have recently tried Ariana Grande perfume. I purchased this musk perfume from target yesterday and it definitely has another 13 vibes but it is slightly sweeter, it is not as sweet and cloying as Ariana Grande. As I don't like that perfume at all. It does not have molecule 01 vibes. It has amberoxin which is more like 02. Overall it is a really lovely scent. It's as they say a skin scent. It's lasted on my skin for a good few hours so far. Look forward to testing it some more. Overall it does have another 13 vibes but it definitely has an undertone of sweetness going on.

This is closer to M02 than M01, which is basically the same molecule used in Juliette has a gun Not a Perfume, ambroxan (& cetalox, synthetic ambergris). From a fragrance blogger who's tried a lot of scents, except for perhaps some of the more obscure niches, fragrance-wise this is closest to Another 13 by LeLabo; but with an added dose of ethyl malitol (which gives it that burnt sugar vibe that makes ppl think BR540), and lacking the citrus/pear facets of A13. A good way to try out an Another 13-like molecular "musk" fragrance on a budget.✌🏻

This perfume and Not Another Cherry from Fine'ry are my top 2 favorite fragrances from this line! I'm a Musk smells very light, creamy, and lactonic on me, and I can almost detect a coconut note even though coconut is not listed as one of the notes. I can barely detect any musk. If anything, I'm a Musk smells a lot like a lighter version of philosophy's Fresh Cream (at least on my skin). It is a versatile fragrance and can be layered with many other fragrances. I think this fragrance would be perfect for summer days and nights at the beach.

This is an absolute gem!!! I read some article online comparing this to Ariana Grande Cloud and that is incorrect. Only thing similar to Cloud is the mass pleasing aspect. Although I’ve never smelled Molecule 02 - I would envision it being exactly like this. A very soft fragrance that can slip under the radar yet provides a soft warm feel. You can probably layer this with 80% of fragrances out there. I’m actually buying it for that reason exactly and to wear it to bed on nights I don’t want to wear anything over the top.

I went on a F’inery body mist buying frenzy because for $15 why not? So this review is for the body mist. This is a very soft sweet musk. I wear it at night or in the morning before I get up. It’s also super safe for the gym . Personally I don’t get any santal pickle scent from the mist. Just an airy pretty cloud like fragrance that dries down to a clean linen musk. It’s intimate on the sillage. Good buy for the price.

The reviewer that said this is a combination between another 13 and santal 33 was spot on. If you don’t like sandalwood, you won’t like this fragrance. It’s very sandalwood heavy. To my nose it’s fluffy and clean with a tiny bit of pickle. It’s great for layering and is awesome to wear to the gym, the office, and when I want something subtle for bedtime.

I'm not sure why there's no reviews or no information on this perfume it's a very great base perfume this is what I feel like all perfumes are trying to smell like other things end up smelling like but this is exactly what it's supposed to smell like and it's kind of harsh on the opening but it Mellows out really nice to like a unisex soft smell

It's a lightly lactonic, tonka musk. I am in love with this and slather myself in it before bed. Buying 2 backup bottles bc I've only had it for a week and the dent in the bottle is impressive. Edit: This is an exact Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bete dupe - sadly without the projection and performance.

I'm of no words, smelled it in store, didn't buy it because I wanted to see how much it lasted, and to my surprise it has somewhat of good lasting power, soapy, not very powdery, skin like scent that I have been on a hunt for so long, I will be going back to purchase it, it's seriously indescribable

Tonight it's giving the basenotes in Dior Hypnotic Poison. Sandalwood, musk, tonka, a bit of salty play-doh... Very comforting, warm, cocooning and pretty. I've forgotten I even have this fragrance lately, and need to reach for it more often.

Just a nice clean musk. Great if you want to wear something light and airy. You can use it alone or as a base layer. I picked up my bottle at Target for under $30. Well worth the price. 😁

I love this beauty of a perfume! She is strong and she lasts long. She for me is a mix of yummy coconut tanning cream and cloud perfume. Amazing and well done.

The scent of a sweet cloud. scent breakdown - Opens up with clean and sweet orange blossom mixed with an overdose of ambroxan and other synthetic white musks. As it begins to dry down, synthetic yet sweet sandalwood accord begins to mix with the musk and orange blossom. In the deep dry down I get a slight amber accord with vanillic nuances surrounded by fluffy musks. personal thoughts - This is easily my favorite from the Fine'ry collection, and I'm really surprised it is not hyped up more in the community. Sweet orange blossom, soft and clean musks, and creamy sandalwood all at an unbeatable price. Super simple, super easy to wear, and a great puff of sweet clean musks to layer with fragrances you might find too heavy to pull off consistently. Leans a bit feminine for my tastes, but anyone can wear this. This should've been named "Cloud" more so than the Ariana Grande fragrance. performance - Performance and projection are pretty mediocre of 5-6 hours performance with moderate to intimate projection throughout the lifespan, but I really cannot complain at all for the price you can get a bottle for. rating - 7/10. when to wear - When wearing your favorite white button down shirt and pants; Sunday brunch and recaps; Lazy Fridays in the office song vibe - Highroad by Sir Woman TLDR - Orange Blossom + Ambroxan/White musks + Sandalwood + Amber-y/Vanillic nuances. Super easy to wear and easily the best from the whole Fine'ry collection. Cannot recommend this enough if you enjoy white musks scents, may lean slightly feminine to some guys' noses.

This one was... interesting on me. I sprayed it in the box it came in first to see what it smelled like without my skin chemistry "changing" it. It literally smelled just like Commodity Paper in the box, and I absolutely couldn't distinguish the two apart. It starts with that sharp alcoholic smell and them softens and gets a little warmer and sweeter. I'm definitely not getting a cucumber or pickles out of this, I truly think that's just the difference in body chemistry. The longer this sits on my skin, the more prominent the sandalwood gets. I feel like it just gets woodier and sweeter, so I honestly really enjoy this one. As for the "dupe" claims, I'm not getting a AG Cloud dupe out of this at all, it's not near as sweet. It does however smell VERY close to Victoria's Secret Tease Creme Cloud, only, again not near as sweet imo. The musk note in I'm a Musk and VS Creme is identical, only the dry down is different. This would be awesome to layer with VS Creme just to give it a little more longevity on the musk part, and add some sweetness!

I picked this up at Target today and I really like it. It’s not a love, buts it’s a really nice, wearable musky scent. Light, sweet, woody, musky. I’ve never smelled another 13 so I can’t compare but this is good. There’s a very commonly used aromachemical that smells lovely to some people and smells like dill pickes to others. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s also in Santal 33 and Bois de Ballincourt (as well as many others). You either get pickle from it or a lovely light sandalwood smell. I think it’s like cilantro- some people get a nice fresh taste and others get soap. So you’ll either enjoy this or it will smell like dill pickles. For me, I’ll use it for a nice subtle sweet musky smell alone or to layer. It doesn’t smell like JHAG Not a Perfume to me, this is sweeter and it’s overall less airy. For the price it’s a great subtle fragrance, but try before you buy as you may be one of the ones to get the pickle note.

This smells a lot how Le Labo Another 13 smells in the bottle to me. However with Le Labo, once I apply that perfume to skin I almost immediately become anosmic to it. I have to over spray like crazy just to get a whiff of it on my skin. I'm thinking the Ambroxan is the culprit. For whatever reason I'm a Musk seems to hang around on my skin much better. It still doesn't have great longevity or sillage. I get maybe an hour or two before I'm back to nothing and it's not immediately noticeable unless I'm smelling very close to where I apply. It sticks to clothing and fabric great and at this price you could use it as a pillow or pajama mist if you want something clean and cozy to smell in bed. I want to love these ambroxan scents because of how good they smell in the bottle and on clothing, but something in my skin chemistry just says no.

Adding to the "is it pickle?" pile with a rare "no." At least not for me, which is odd, because Im no stranger to getting pickles from woody scents (noyz "sh*tty day' and 'lost and found' come to mind, as well as various bath and body works spritzes from over the years before I got more into scents.) But to me, at least, this is pleasant! Tested in store, but didn't love it enough to buy after walking around a bit (I was looking to re-up on Sweet on the Outside but my target never has it in stock), but I can still smell the one, genteel spritz on the back of my hand (from the body mist) three hours later, which is impressive. To me, it's a slightly creamy, slightly powdery wood note, kinda like an old cedar chest, but not too dusty. Not too heavy or dank or wintery imo, but I wear vanilla in summer so YMMV.

This doesn't smell like Molecule 01 or NaP at all to me - it, in fact, doesn't smell like any of the popular skin/musks to my nose. It DEFINITELY doesn't smell like Cloud or any 540 dupe I've sniffed. I do see the comparison to Thank U, Next - after a couple wears that pickle-forward sandalwood stands out to me, especially in the first couple hours, though this doesn't have all the sweetness that comes with AG frags. As wst said, this smells exactly like its listed notes: warm/slightly musty cotton, skin musk, and sandalwood. Even as a lover of skin scents I'm still undecided on whether or not I'd pick up a full size of this, since there are other scents in this genre I enjoy more (NaP, for one). But if you're a lover of musk and sandalwood, I'd go and give this a sniff.

I'm a musk is a quite wearable fragrance that delivers surprising longevity and development for its price point. It's pretty unisex too; you start the day smelling like an it girl's cashmere scarf and end it with something similar to a hot guy's BO. Comparisons to Another 13 aren't off base, but Another 13 gets its sweetness from pear whereas I'm a musk has a creamier note, like coconut. The overall impression is different too: Another 13 is angular like perfectly folded origami and this fragrance is round and fleece sweater-like. I would recommed I'm a musk to someone who wants to get into ambery musks, but doesn't know if they're anosmic to these notes. Good for casual wear without spending much.

notes on the box are: "fluffy musk, cotton blossom, creamy sandalwood". Instead of guessing what they're trying to dupe here, I'm just enjoying the slightly-sweet 'crisp white shirt' smell and the low price point. It reminds me of the sweetness of Clean Reserve Skin, but with a laundry twist. I don't get pickles from this sandalwood - it starts almost coconut-creamy and settles down to a pleasantly freshly-washed vibe. Adds a bit of refinement when layered with super sugary or fruity scents. I got the body mist and the perfume and really enjoy them both. For dupes: similar to Another 13, JHAG NAP, L'eau Papier. Not a dupe for Cloud/BR540 at all.

I cannot fathom how people find a similarity to Cloud or BR540. I understand we all smell things differently, but hearing people compare them is as strange to me as hearing someone compare the smell of peanut butter to the smell of brown mustard. I get an almost exact dupe of Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume Superdose. To me, it’s a little too much ambroxan, and nothing else. I like Not a Perfume, but the Superdose smells sickeningly dirty. So does I’m a Musk. Since people perceive ambroxan differently, I can’t help but wonder if that’s the only note. It could explain the very different perceptions of this fragrance.

So! My friend got it for me in US, I'm glad to finally have some Finery perfumes. This one smells for me like a kind of a mix of Paper by Commodity, White Musk for Men by The Body Shop, Molecule 1 (or 2) by Eccentric Molecules, and Another 13 by Le labo. I don't pick the pickle note, but I understand why people say so, because sandalwood here is a sour sandalwood type just like in Paper. Very dry sour woody scent, but cozy, fresh and simple skin scent. I think it smells pretty much like Iso E Super note. Suitable for both hot and cold weather if you don't want to be overwhelmed by any other scents.

Strange. I do not get pickle which I often do with others. I really like this one. On me it’s a clean musk. On my skin musks can often pull dirty. Also, I thought this resembled BBW If you Musk more than Musk 3. I own both of those. I just sampled this at Target. I may end up buying it or a similar perfume if I can find one with more longevity. This only lasted a couple hours on my skin so comparable to a BBW body mist. Edit: I was wrong I have Musk 2 so maybe this does resemble Musk 3, lol.

I used to really like JHAG Not a Perfume until I smelled the Superdose version. Superdose is like wet cigarette ash to me. I can’t stand ambroxan-forward after getting so sick from just the smell of Superdose. I tried I’m a Musk directly on my skin because people online who clearly haven’t smelled both keep saying it’s a dupe for AG Cloud. To me, it smelled EXACTLY like JHAG Not a Perfume Superdose. I legit had to pull over and get sick on the drive home. -47/10

BODY SPRAY REVIEW I was cruising through Target and decided to spray this on my wrist. When I went to check out the cashier immediately told me that I smelled so good. I was wearing perfume already but I truly believe this is what she smelled because it had been only 10 minutes since I sprayed this. This does NOT smell like •Molecule 01 •Molecule 02 •JHAG •JHAG Superdose •Paper Smells a LITTLE like one of the Pink Ariana Grande perfume.

It's weird? Definitely not for everyone. For me, It's definitely skin like right out of the bottle then turns into a powdery smell. Not like baby powder but clean laundry kind of powder. But once it settles for some reason it has a sharp chlorine undertone?? It's not bad, but it's definitely not what I would usually wear. It lasts a good 6 to 8 hours and I can catch the scent throughout the day.

Doesn’t smell like pickles at all to me. It smells like a super sweet musk, which I’ve been using to layer on top of some of my other perfumes. Wouldn’t wear this alone, but it was cheap from target and I bought it for the purpose of layering anyways. I just wish it was a bit stronger, but I got the body mist. If I were to repurchase I probably would get the perfume and use it as a body mist.

It smells just like you mixed Another 13 with Santal 33. Has the same amberette musk from Another 13 and the pickle-like sandalwood present in Santal 33. Smells intriguing, but wish it wasn’t sweet and was more airy instead. It fades to a skin scent pretty quickly and loses its musky character. I would pass if you are looking for an Another 13 alternative, but smells nice as its own thing.

I like it! It's a very neutral, milky, woody musk. Easy to wear anytime, anywhere, and lasts on my skin for about 6 hours. I don't find it changes much from opening to dry down--that's not a complaint, as it's comforting and warm the whole way through. Target is knocking it out of the park with these affordable, well-made fragrances.

I am currently wearing I'm A Musk in 75-80F weather. It is very long lasting and present on my clothing. Smells very much like a musk. Very clean, white musk, like the Body Shop white musk. Not Molecule 01, in my opinion. The bottles in this range of perfume tell the story quite well. I'm A Musk smells like the bottle looks.

one of my FAVORITE budget-friendly finds. I’m agreeing with the way it smells on the skin. the smell out of the bottle gives me straight alcohol, but the dry down on me is a very woody, clean, musk. a good, almost unisex smelling perfume. The musk in it balances very well on my skin.

I'd call this a low-cost clone for Another 13. It's just a tad sweeter, though, and not nearly as much longevity. It has that pickle-y scent upon application, but I didn't think it took that long to fade away. This would be a good fragrance for an office setting. I recommend it!

freshly washed sweet skin. musky, powdery, a bit of marshmallow to me? no sourness on my skin but the other reviews are making me scared to get it in case someone else smells it on me completely differently lol T_T

I just tried this out at Target and it instantly reminded me of one of my favorite fragrances, Blanche Bete! It's a great musk I must say, I do NOT smell pickles lol. And I eat pickles everyday ☺️

You can find something else in this scent profile for less money that will have better longevity. Plus this smells like pickles in the opening- that does fade, but it’s there in the beginning.

This is nice. Less screechy than the other scents from the line, no pickle juice on me. Most of Fine'ry misses the mark but I'd happily wear this one.

Mom, can we have Another 13? No, we have Another 13 at home. In all seriousness, I don’t see this as a perfect analog to any of the quieter, almost-musky skin scents on the market so much as it is a general introduction into the overall ambrette and ambroxan genre of fragrances. Soft, nutty, lactonic, warm if only in the way in which a breath is warm seconds before it is made tangible by cold. I always come back to breath as a sensory context with these kinds of perfumes; they evoke whispers, illusory closeness. Save for the extremely blatant (and extremely sold out) replica for Lost Cherry, this is the only offering from this line that, to me, is as cheerful as it is cheap. Addendum: After sitting with this for a month or two, I can't say I find myself reaching for it all that often. It is sweeter at the opening than I prefer, and I do think that, among fragrances of this sort, it skews young. I think this works best on a chillier, rainy day (I think maybe a little atmospheric petrichor adds some balance and complexity to how this wears for me) but I certainly don't anticipate making it a staple even as we move into autumn.

I have put this fragrance in my cart then put it back on the shelf soooo many times at Target, because some days it smells like a beautiful, powdery soft musk, and other times it's straight-up pickle juice. I picked up the body spray today, and it still smells 100% like pickle juice to my nose when sniffing it straight from the bottle or on paper, but on my skin it develops into this sweet, musky and coconut-y scent very quickly. I don't get the JHAG Not a Perfume and Glossier You comparisons at all, as those fragrances are crazy peppery on me. If anything, I'm a Musk reminds me of a less intense Mix:Bar Coconut Palm. It's also verging on being cloying sweet/freshly washed baby, like Clean Skin Reserve IMO. IDK, I don't dislike this one, but I'm not sure I like it either. :|

When I first sprayed this, it immediately reminded me of Cloud by Ariana Grande— which to be fair, in the moment I did remember seeing people compare this to Cloud— but much less sweet. Like a barely there sweetness. But then as it dried down and this fluffy coconut scent started coming through, it reminded me of another Ariana Grande perfume called Thank U, Next— but again, still less sweet. Ironic, because I just gifted my friend a bottle of Thank U, Next today for Galentines! (Her signature fragrance is Bath & Body Works' Frosted Coconut Snowball so she loved it, as I expected lmao.) Personally I think this fragrance is better than Thank U, Next due to the dulled sweetness, but still coconut-forward scents are not for me.

I don’t get dill or nail polish remover (thankfully!) but I do find this a photorealistic scent... of fresh sawn plywood. It’s not bad, at all, and might be nostalgic for some (reminiscent of Dad’s or Grandpa’s workshop, maybe, or happy new house memories... or maybe you just like the scent of fresh sharp wood!) It’s unisex but as a woman I wouldn’t personally wear it; I think I’d like it better on a man. I might give my bottle to my husband, though he’d probably rather I just get my $27 back from Target 🤣 Not far removed from all those lovely, masculine but light scents like Light Blue, CK One, etc. Longevity is decent to me but I can always smell perfumes for hours. Tbh I think most of y’all on here are over-spraying 😉

All I get is clean white Musks, very light Florals & Ambroxan......there is also something semi sweet off my skin. It kinda smells like Caramel or Marshmallow but it is very subdued. The fragrance itself is very light, almost like a second skin. It wears like a Molecule Fragrance. Longevity is meh....but it's also under $30 at Target, so I didn't think it would last. Cheap enough to overspray and respray. I find it pretty unisex with an ever so slight lean towards the feminine side. Men can definitely wear this. Projection is also not very big and neither is Sillage. I would probably use this more to layer than wear as a solo scent. No regrets but probably wouldn't buy again.

I absolutely hated this on a blotter, it was straight dill pickle. I love dill pickles but I don't want to smell like them...immediate scrubber. I gave my sample to my friend who tried it on their skin and thought I was making up the dill thing. So we tried it on a blotter together, and we could both smell the dill. My friend convinced me to give it another try, this time on my skin. Okay, fine. It still started out smelling like dill, but it faded on my skin to a subtle sweet musk within 30 minutes. Like soft vanilla cashmere. I ended up liking it after all, although I'm not sure the end result is worth suffering through the pickle opening.
