Without A Trace

I am in absolute love with this! I am so surprised at how much I’ve been into it. I’m a Chanel boy, but not a snob because I’m not rich, I just like quality and a nice blend. And overall, I want to smell nice and feel good about what I’m wearing. I did not think I’d find an option at...Target!! Lol! But, ya never know! I first bought the body spray when I was at Target grabbing some deodorant and razors. As a fragrance lover, and I’m sure many of you are the same, I always have to stop by where the fragrances are. Even if they are not niche or designer, sometimes you can find a gem even at a drugstore if you have an open mind! I thought at first I liked “I’m a Musk” but something became off-putting. Then I smelled Flower Bed and that was what I was going to buy. But something about the color of Without a Trace (peachy - one of my favs) and the name called out to me. I was holding Flower Bed in my hand when I lifted the cap off of WAT and within moments put Flower Bed back on the self. This is a clean, musky, powdery scent that I’ve been searching for. I’m sure there’s something out there I’d like more, but this was a surprising good first impression. I didn’t spend much time with it before buying, as I felt I’d like it on its own and as a layering scent. I was not wrong. The body mist has pretty decent longevity (I think about 5/6 hours) with enough projection for the type of scent that it is. Within days though, I found a bottle of the Eau De Parfum on Mercari with only a few sprays missing, for pretty cheap. So I obviously got that, and I don’t regret a thing. The EDP has even better projection. The longevity remains a slight mystery. I wore it to work the other day, on what was the last cool day of Spring in my area before humidity and high heat came to take over until September. I wore it while wearing white shorts and a sweater with pastel pink/light blue/lavender cloudy prints (like a sky in the late afternoon sometimes) and it was perfect. At first I thought maybe it had died, or dissipated I should say, but then I got busy (I’m a server). As I was running back and forth, pouring beer, and moving swiftly...Without a Trace started PROJECTING! I don’t know if anyone else noticed it but me, but I was getting strong whiffs of it while moving around and although I got nervous (I don’t want someone to complain about my fragrance), I was loving every moment of it and the wafts were like aromatherapy. Just, so comforting. Something about it reminds me of the past, or something. Maybe another perfume from the late 90s, early 2000s. Or maybe the clean laundry at my grandmothers, her nice face/hand/body creams, and getting into clean sheets at night after helping gma clean and her bathing me and dusting me with Chanel powder as a small boy. I’m going to stock up on this, it’s a dream. I’ve tried so many musk scents recently, and besides Chance by Chanel (my signature), this is the best for me. I recently got a bottle of Jovan’s White Musk and although I love it, it’s not like this imo. One that this really reminds of is Noa by Cacharel. Not the same scent, but similar vibes. And I’m going to try the Egyptian Musk or Egyptian Goddess from Auric Blends, even though I don’t like applying perfume oils, but I want even more of this type of scent so I will report back. Also I’ve layered this with Chance by Chanel (original EDT and EDP) and Calandre by Paco Rabanne with wonderful results. 🥀 Update 06/2025 - This is surprisingly long lasting! I have layered this underneath another fragrance for work or going out, and woken up the next day to only this scent remaining. Wow! I also think this has really good projection. One of the most affordable options with bang for your buck when it comes to a body spray and edp. Would love a lotion/body cream of this too if I’m being honest.

I recently sampled Phlur's Missing Person at my local Sephora store and liked it but didn't fall in love with it - I was in more of a gourmand mood that day and ended up leaving with a completely different fragrance. In my quest for a skin scent, I ended up buying Soft Spot blind and loving it, which led me to consider Missing Person again. (Very "if you give a mouse a cookie" vibes.) Rather than spend another $99, I picked up Without a Trace at my local Target for under $20 on sale. So many of my reviews make use of "nostalgic" as a descriptor and this one is no different. It's somehow clean, cozy, fresh, and warm all at once. This isn't the warmth of a fireplace or a cup of cocoa, it's the warmth of a lofty blanket when the house is chilly or a hot shower and a fresh towel afterward. It almost instantly reminded me of Philsophy's Amazing Grace and Pure Grace, but after sampling them all side by side I think they're actually very distant cousins. I get the citrus opening and the musky drydown on all three, but the middle and overall impressions are very different. (Amazing Grace is floral-clean and Pure Grace is soapy-clean.) Continuing with the clean/cozy/fresh/warm dichotomy, this is both long-lasting and incredibly intimate, to the point where I thought I was nose blind to it and was very disappointed. I sprayed it on last night after a shower and could barely smell anything on my wrist 10 minutes later, but was able to detect it here and there when it wafted up to my nose. I could still smell it wafting this morning when waking up, and even got a hint of it on my wrist... but am back to nothing on wrists and the occasional whiff after a reapplication. Weirdly I'm not disappointed by this, as it's nice change from other fragrances in my collection. All in all, this is an affordable, versatile, inoffensive skin scent that I could see myself wearing year-round for everything from WFH and in-office days to lazy weekends on the couch and date nights out. It's absolutely worth trying at this price point if you've been curious about Missing Person and/or this vibe in general!

I have been eyeing Phlur’s Missing Person for a while. Whenever I see a predominantly musky skin scent, I’m always intrigued. However, with Missing Person, I already have or have had 9 of the listed dupes. I couldn’t justify buying it particularly because of the price and the fact that many people were complaining about the quality/performance. I had already tried the Fine’ry dupe for Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt. I wasn’t initially impressed by that one but I eventually grew to like it a lot. Trying Without a Trace was a no-brainer for me after I discovered it in Target. While I might have no familiarity with MP, I do have some with quality musk-centric fragrances. Without A Trace could easily be a Narciso Rodriguez, Kayali, or Serge Lutens creation. Also, this does feel like a dressed up, modernized version of Jovan’s White Musk. There’s a slightly complex aspect here that I think is missing from White Musk. I think the review below me is correct, it must be the suede that’s helping to project a deeply subdued, realistically clean sensation that melds with your natural skin chemistry. It’s similar to how Clean’s Skin uses leather to create an epidermal base that amplifies the sweet & musky elements. It’s not simply just fresh or powdery. I am getting so sick of saying and hearing the phrase, “your skin but better,” to describe a fragrance but that’s absolutely what WAT is. Put simply, it just replicates the smell of a naturally clean and freshly showered body. Of course, nothing new or that hasn’t been done before but it’s done accurately. Performance isn’t the best on me but I have a feeling that it will improve once it macerates which is usually the case with musks. I love wearing this alone but it enhances my favorite soapy perfumes like Glow and Lovely so beautifully. The bottle isn’t the greatest and the cap keeps coming loose but it’s not a huge dealbreaker. For the price, it’s phenomenal. If you’re a musk/skin scent lover, this won’t disappoint.

I LOVE this so much. After reading about Phlur Missing Person I determined that it sounded like it's in the same family as the Egyptian Musk scents I like so much. I've been wearing Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess since the 90s but I tend to become noseblind to it quickly. After a while all I can smell is pencil shavings where others can still smell it fully. I couldn't ever seem to find a Phlur sample in Sephora though. Then I heard about Fine'ry's Without a Trace and ran to Target to try it. I was not disappointed. I got the body mist btw, as they were out of the EDT. I sprayed it as soon as I got back in my car and was immediately enraptured by this scent. It's soft and has that same unidentifiable floral musk quality as Egyptian Goddess. In other words, I cannot identify what flowers I'm smelling or any specific notes. I just get this beautiful, smooth, feminine skin scent that's unlike most fragrances out there. Without a Trace is not Egyptian Goddess, but it's definitely a cousin. So if you like EG I think you will like WaT. Plus, I don't seem to become noseblind or anosmic to this. I've been wearing it daily since purchasing and I sometimes layer it with Violet Magnolia by Good Chemistry or Brightest Bloom by B&BW. It makes a great "bed" for those brighter florals. It's wonderful on its own too. I may try layering it with Egyptian Goddess and see if I actually explode from too much goodness. This fragrance has me so enchanted. I have many fragrances but this one feels like Me. A definite repurchase.

Yes, this is an excellent dupe for Missing Person. There is absolutely no need to spend a ton of money on the OG. On me, this lasts just as long, if not longer. If I had to describe this scent I would say it's very musky, creamy, almost like a clean new clothing store with the neatest folded clothes and everything in the store is modern and earth toned, the music is low and soft, the lighting is just a glow. I personally wear this with a leather jacket, mom jeans, Converse, and simple jewelry. A true slick-back isn’t my best look, so I usually go for a soft blowout to get that clean-girl aesthetic, and this fragrance completes it perfectly. On some days, I layer it with JHAG Pear and the result is the coolest, cleanest, most luxurious scent, like I just took the best everything shower. It's the scent you wear when you don't want to be overbearing, just pleasant to be around. Some days I get out of the shower, douse myself in MIIMIIC 91, put on a cozy matching PJ set, then douse myself in Without A Trace. It's an impeccable combo for bed.

I was immediately in love when I smelled this. some people can't smell it or say it's too subtle, but it's exactly what I've been looking for. this is a sweet, musky orange blossom. not sweet like cake, but sweet like clean skin and fully bloomed flowers. you have to like musk to like this. the suede is there, but I wouldn't say it's super strong. I don't like leather but I find this soft and pretty. the only thing I'm slightly disappointed about is that I don't smell cedar, and I love cedar. the rest of the fragrance is so pretty it makes up for it tho. the lasting power for the price and scent profile are astounding. today was my first wear and I'm blown away. people saying it only lasts a couple hours might be noseblind. I've never gotten so many compliments, sometimes hours after spraying too. I almost went to reapply halfway through work like I normally do, and realized it still smelled strong. 11 hours after applying I still faintly smell it.

Tried this on at Target today and wowww this is so nice!! A gentle, warm, and comforting scent that just feels very clean and neutral. Like I've just washed with some luxury soap. Very unisex, not leaning one way or the other. I've recently discovered that love a suede note, and I really enjoy how its presented here. It's a skin scent which is to be expected, and the longevity isn’t bad. I went back to Target today to actually pick up a bottle and test the body mist. Unfortunately, the mist doesn't smell the same as the eau de parfum, and I prefer the latter more. Not sure how to describe the difference, but the EDP has a warmer feeling and brings out more suede whereas the body mist has a fresh, almost citrus-y scent. I can see this becoming a new favorite around the house or post-shower scent for me. More than worth the $30 price tag.

Fresh, airy, clean, bright. A comforting and cozy clean girl scent. I hadn’t heard of this brand until shopping at Target and naturally I was drawn to this one because I adore Neroli. This feels very refined for this price point. It’s simple but delicious. I keep sniffing myself. Sprayed this on after a shower last night and my husband couldn’t get enough and was all over me. 🥰 It’s definitely got a bit of nostalgia with the musk, but it’s not at all a granny scent IMO. Vibe I get from this: Linen dried in the sun. The Amalfi coast, Italy. Lemon and neroli blossoms drifting thru the air. Warm sun on skin. Sea salt glistening. White bar of luxury soap. High end YSL suede hand bag. Bubble bath in resort hotel. Cashmere scarf. Posh vacation. This is divine. Keeping this in my rotation forever. 💕

I enjoy this fragrance very much. It’s similar to Missing Person and perfectly satisfies my desire for this scent profile without spending a lot of money. It smells clean without leaning soapy or laundry-like. Instead, it is soft, comforting, and truly feels like a “your skin but better” fragrance. It’s a light, gentle, sweet musk that feels warm and inviting. The scent sits close to the skin, but it’s still noticeable in a subtle, personal way. For such a light fragrance, the longevity is about 4–6 hours, depending on how much I use. This is a pleasant scent that works for the office, before bed, after a shower, or anytime you want something calming, and effortless. It’s not a scent that will appeal to everyone, but I love it. 7/10 Sillage 6/10 Longevity 6/10

i have never smelled the original missing person perfume, but when i tell you once i smelled this within target i was in love first sniff. this perfume is STRONG, a few sprays from the tester and it lasted days on my sweater. its been awhile since a perfume made me feel so emotionally drawn to it, but this definitely did, and now i must purchase the actual perfume. i never thought these notes would be my thing since i fall more towards the gourmand category with fragrances, but wow.. i am so surprised, this perfume smells like home.. like someone you adore but they are far far away.. the only thing you have to remind yourself of them is a cashmere sweater they used to wear that smells like them. this is truly comfort, clean, skin scent that it just perfection.

I never thought suede of all things would create a beautiful perfume, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Without A Trace. With a soft muskiness and very slight sweetness from the neroli blossom, this is the perfect all-season, day-or-evening, "your skin but better" scent. Especially great for hot days, post-shower evening wind-downs, and the office. I'd also recommend it for those who are migraine-prone and/or have an aversion to heavy, cloying, loud, sugary, fruity, or sharp scents. I personally call this perfume "angel skin" because it's exactly what I'd imagine an angel would smell like: warm, inviting, gentle, clean, and ethereal. Also a great unisex option. Overall absolutely gorgeous, and for $30? Worthy of signature scent status.

I think this is a good, fresh, day time scent that stands out a bit from the heart of rich suede. This fragrance sits very close to the skin, but has decent longevity (~6 good hours on me). Imagine a suede handbag that has been sitting the perfume section of the department store—if you took a sniff, you would first smell the flowery perfume in the air then the suede underneath. I think this would be a good scent for people who like “your skin but better” types. Edit: the more I wore this, the more I loved it, and had to buy a FB! I love to put this on if I take an afternoon/night time shower. It smells clean, but the base note of suede adds something special and different. It went from a like to a love!

Mmm. A sweet suede ✨ Light bodied, clean and animalistic. The performance matches the price point (remember guys, it’s a $30 perfume you got from your local store, not a $300 pure parfum extract that you got from the Middle East 😂. It’s also titled “without a trace”, so presume that it’s going to do exactly that; which is not leave a strong sillage) If “Egyptian Goddess” & “Egyptian Musk” smell like this but with more longevity, I’ll have to purchase to compare 🩵 I’ve been looking for a fragrance with cedar bc it’s absolutely one of my FAVORITE notes, so I’m glad I found something in the sweet-woody family. Scent: 8/10 Performance: 5/10 Longevity: 7/10

Apparently, Without A Trace is meant to be a dupe for Phlur's Missing Person, which in itself is meant to smell like a lost lover. The one who got away. I cannot speak to the accuracy of it being a dupe, as I have not yet smelled Missing Person. However, Without A Trace does smell like a certain someone to me, although not a former significant other, but rather, my mother. Smelling this brings back memories of me as a little girl sitting in my mother's lap, her holding me close. My introduction to and the beginning of my love for neroli. Interestingly, I’m also reminded of Genabelle’s PDRN Vita Toning Ampoule.

This has my vote of being the best of the Fine'ry line. To me, it's better than Missing Person because it *doesn't* have the citrus notes, it's just pure pillowy vanilla suede musk. Its not loud, sits close to the skin, and would probably be a good layering option as well. Its my favorite hair perfume, it lasts a long time on skin but next day on clothes and hair, to me. Above average performance for a very decent price, I already have a backup bottle. Absolutely work safe, blind buy safe? I'd try it, it might not work for everyone. Purchased from: Target

ddiiiiiviiinnee. for some reason some phlur fragrances literally smell like nothing to me, including missing person, so I can't say anything about how it holds as a dupe, but oh my god this is so good. you can wear it on its own or with just about anything, since it adds a nice clean, musky base, but doesn't feel too "clean girl" which isn't really my palate. when spraying it, hold your breath for a second or walk away, it kinda overwhelms my lungs very briefly when first out of the bottle lol. lasts very long on clothes. (I have the body spray btw)

This is beautiful on its own, but it is *so* beautiful paired with Kuuma Made Vanilla Bean fragrance oil. So soft and cozy, I wear this to bed a lot and it’s just the perfect skin scent—different from others like Glossier You, this is purely musky skin and cozy hugs, while You has the added pink pepper and leans more floral (for the record I love both, but they are definitely different in their skin-like scent approach). This is so soft and a bit sensual as well. I love it (especially paired with something a little sweet and vanillic).

This has the same clean, animal, soapy musk I used to love in Jovan Musk, Skin Musk etc. It also smells like the musk in the base of Rosie by Rosie Jane. All I get is musk- no other notes. It's still on my wrists even after baby wipes and soap. It's a tenacious one! I actually loved it but was having bad seasonal allergies-hence the removal effort lol. Also this was the body mist version and I've seen other reviews say it smells different from the perfume version- I haven't tried that one so not sure.

I absolutely LOVE this! Pretty similar to missing person, I can't personally tell the difference. Cozy, warm-musky scent with lots of suede. I personally cannot detect neroli, and cedar might be on the very base, only to tie the musk and suede together. Its the type of perfume I wear when I don't know what else to put on, or when I am tired of my stronger perfumes, like a reset. It is a bit metallic - less than JHAG Not a Perfume though, which I find too metallic, sterile and synthetic.

I'm usually not a fan of skin scents. I find the original Phlur Missing Person rather boring. However, Without a Trace is a perfect skin scent for me. I wouldn't call it a dupe per se. It's much more noticeable and lasts a bit longer than Missing Person without being overwhelming. It's still very light and fresh and is perfect for everyday, year-round use. The scent is pleasant and inoffensive for office wear and I can see it layering well with other scents to elevate it for date night.

found this at target the other day, and the scent immediately stood out to me. been wearing for a couple of days, and the scent definitely sticks around; could smell it on my clothes by the end of the day still. in the first two days of wearing it, 3 different people approached me and said it smelled nostalgic, like something from their childhood, which i've taken to be sort of like a grandma smell? in a good way though, its quickly grown to be one of my favorites.

I LOVE this perfume, it quickly became a signature scent. It feels safe to wear to work without being offensive. I often layer it with my other "second skin" perfume oils and I cannot get enough. I am extremely prone to headaches and it does not cause that issue for me. I love how versatile it is. I hope they never stop selling this. I personally smell it more than missing person and I think its one of those rare cases where the dupe is better than the original.

If you told me this scent induces oxytocin I'd believe it. 😆 It's the best musky scent ever. Literally gives me the feeling you get from snuggling/hugging someone you love. It's also like a 99.9% dupe for Missing Person by Phlur so yay for saving money! I think I honestly prefer this to MP because it might be a bit stronger and lasts longer. I'm on my second bottle of this and I think I'll get a backup because I am worried about this being discontinued.

I adore this fragrance and find myself reaching for it again and again. I especially love it at bedtime. I also have MP which smells very underwhelming after smelling this. First of all, you can actually smell it, the sillage is awesome and it lasts all day. It is a very comforting scent. It is definitely a clean girl aesthetic but it’s warm and inviting, not sterile at all. I’m going to get the mist to spray all over my bed at bedtime!

i deleted my last review because i was really conflicted about this scent, but now i'm totally sure that i love her! she's clean, powdery, and creamy like lotion. doesn't have that "perfume-y" scent that a lot of fragrances have that makes your nose burn. perfect to feel like the soft, warm, girl-next-door that smells good naturally <3 really nice if you like the smell of baby powder as well! has the same vibe, nice for a chill day ^.^

a clean, comforting skin scent. the suede in this evokes such strong imagery for me; it smells like the first time you open a box with a new pair of boots inside. that crisp, pristine leather. i'm super impressed by the longevity of this line, especially for the price. i applied this around 9 pm before bed last night. i could still smell it on my wrists 12 hours later. without a trace in a few words: fresh, carnal, cozy

Just picked this up at Target, and boy is it good. It took a minute to figure out the deja vu I was having when I tested it on my arm, and then it came to me . . . it reminds me of Bonne Bell Skin Musk from the 80s which I used to wear all the time when I was in junior high. It's a warm, pleasant, clean musk. I can see this being a crowd pleaser. I am excited to wear this to work tomorrow.

I just grabbed this yesterday from Target because I saw that it’s a dupe for Phlur’s Missing Person that I’ve been wanting try. I love this! It’s a clean scent and I can definitely see it being unisex. I do smell the suede and it’s subtle. The longevity is pretty good. I sprayed it on a sweatshirt I was wearing in the house and I could still smell the scent the next day. Great purchase!

A super light, clean, soapy musk. I haven't owned Missing Person, but it smells SUPER similar upon initial spray. Longevity not great at 1-2 hrs on me, but it does linger on clothes. Has a very scrubbed clean, slightly baby wipe-like scent, followed by a white musk and neroli drydown. A teensy bit of woodiness, but overall a very soft, slightly sterile, clean musk.

I have both this and Missing Person. I like this one more. I feel like this lasts longer on me. Its stronger on me. It does have a comforting skin smell. It's something that I can wear to work as a nurse and not offend anyone. I get lots of compliments on it. Finished 1 bottle and will be getting a second. It's quickly become a top wear for me.

This is an exact dupe of Missing Person and for a fraction of the price. It has the same lasting power too! To me it smells like freshly cleaned hotel bedding. Definitely a very subtle and not a super in-your-face fragrance (just like missing person). This is the perfect fragrance for everyday wear. For $30, this is a no brainer!

This perfume is good for its price and a decent dupe. I like its soft and comforting qualities to it. I let my mom smell it and she said it smelled like aveeno baby soap (both the oatmeal one and the bedtime one with the purple bottle.) Not sure if that’s a negative or positive thing, but nonetheless I still enjoy this perfume.

Wow, I had no idea I would love this scent as much as I do! It’s surprisingly long lasting on me. It lasts pretty much the entire day. It’s a very comforting, sweet musk. Smells like the best smelling person in the world that doesn’t wear perfume. Just gorgeous. I just need an oil to pair it with.

100% my favorite so far from fine'ry. i can't stand missing person, for some reason to me it smells like melted plastic and spray paint, but this? incredible. my new daily wear. great performance for the price, i will absolutely be purchasing a back up bottle next time i go to target

I cannot comment on its accuracy to Missing Person; however, it is a beautiul scent. Nicely musky and slightly sweet. It does have a bit of a "sunscreen" like opening but it fades quickly. Lasts a suprizingly long time for how inexpensive it is, and layers super well. Lovely!

Ughh soo musky and clean i love it 😩 this is extremely unisex in my opinion and i dont think any man will have a problem pulling this off i love spraying this on after a shower and mixing it with my white amber perfume oil,its like a clean ambery musky heaven!!

Got this because I was too broke for Missing Person and after going through a bottle of this (very quickly) I don't even want Missing Person anymore I just want this! This helped me realize how much I like skin scents for daily wear and its not expensive!

I'm obsessed with Missing Person. This is a nearly identical dupe that I can freely overspray without guilt. So good, 99% of people won't be able to sniff the subtle difference. This is hands down, the BEST clone I've ever smelled for a fragrance.

This is just beautiful. I am completely smitten with this perfume. It checks all the boxes for me. It’s fresh, clean, warm and even a little sexy. Such an amazing scent and leaves a trail. Can still get whiffs after 12 hours perfection!

Your skin but better . I think this is one of my favorite perfumes ever . I love spraying this on after a shower or before going to bed . I have the mist and the perfume and I don’t find any differences between them.

My friends always describe this perfume as clean when I wear it. It smells like fresh out of the shower with baby shampoo, but not too sweet. It’s a very light layer-able, clean and fresh scent. One of my favs!

Great work fragrance. Not strong or bothersome and even better that some are anosmic to this profile and won't even smell you. I layer with Cherosa 59 and have gotten a lot of compliments.

Such a great dupe for missing person. Even has a stronger scent and it doesn’t have any intense alcohol or artificial notes. I’m so happy with my purchase.

I have the body mist and was surprised by how long it lasted. The dry down is so addictive. It’s the perfect, musky "fresh out of a soapy shower” scent.

I fell in love with this as soon as I sprayed it. Clean and skin-like, but warm, comforting, and fluffy. Layered with Bianco Latte, it's incredibleeee.

Light clean smell last forever on my clothes sits close to the skin very nice for everyday especially on hot days wouldn’t recommend for heavy humidity

This is what I’ve been looking for in a fragrance. Cozy. Nostalgic. Warm. Smells like an amazing hug from someone you love. Lasts wonderfully. 10/10

Sweet ,woody ,citrus clean scent! As a gourmand girly this is a great introduction to this type of scent profile! Just purchased my backup bottle.

Very clean musk. Perfume is more musky than clean while the body spray is more clean than musky. It's very subtle but also very attractive.

Very cozy, very powdery, very comforting. I love wearing this to bed. Cannot compare to Missing Person because I don’t own that one.
