Sonic Silver

Sonic Silver, Inspired by the tram tracks of Melbourne city and its rich variation of weather (4 seasons in a day!), diverse cultures and heritage, Sonic Silver, is absolutely futuristic yet nostalgic , a fragrance that represents Melbourne as a city so perfectly , our rich mixture of heritage buildings , monuments, crisscrossing with futuristic high rise buildings and botanical nature strips and parklands. Of course we can’t forget the iconic tram ! A fragrance with a futuristic vision and insight but with homage to the past. Sonic Silver opens with a top note of cool green basil, aromatic lavender, and smoothly blended bergamot , but straight away you can smell the metallic mid notes of damp petrichor and spicy cardamom peaking from underneath, creating a beautiful contrast, comparable to the silvery tracks of Melbourne with parts of it becoming rustic and rusted with age and use. It invokes a simultaneous imagery of something shiny, metallic, and cool, wrapped around a hidden core that is warm and spicy, slowly unraveling itself as time goes on. All of this is situated on a very unique and interesting base of Asphalt, Tar, Tonka, musk, and Green Patchouli. The scent performs well and it particularly shines for me on a cloudy / overcast day , which is a common expected occurrence in Melbourne. A wonderful scent that truly encapsulates this vibrant city and its iconic tram tracks into a bottle 🚃 🚈 . Compared to other fragrances on the market, If you enjoy the metallic qualities of Chanel Egoiste Platinum and the spicy warm qualities of Versace Eros , then I am sure you will love Sonic Silver, as it contains resemblances to those scents but it is it’s own unique scent and not a copy of anything else on the market that I know of. This one didn't have the tar and asphalt elements from the notes list, at least not to my nose, and was mostly metallic floral elements. At first, I got a muted white floral, lily, possibly something buttery and with slight animalic nuances, and it reminded me of a Hermetica scent I tried a few years ago. For me, metallic scents are never going to appeal to me -- it's just not a note I ever found warm and pleasant, as it comes across as acidic, bitter and unripe. That said, it's abundantly clear this is what the scent was aiming to do, so for me, if this is what you're looking for, this is what you'll get. I probably won't reach for this one again, I feel it's not something I'd ever enjoy...

I get a melon-y nuance for the first hour, which is nice. Quite bit feminine-leaning, which is only worth mentioning because the note breakdown might suggest otherwise. Metal and Asphalt is there through the middle few hours, until it disappears into a tonka+rain ending.

Great, long-lasting and slightly metallic fougere. Perfect office wear for summers (specially in Sydney's heat)!
