Tuberose in Silk

It’s similar to Do Son, but I find it much less in-your-face. For me Do Son is oily and high-pitched, in contrast Tuberose in Silk is soft and alluring. I have both and I prefer Floris’ offering by far - it’s elegant and versatile: to be worn in any season and time of day. But perhaps to be enjoyed chiefly by the wearer, it’s like carrying a secret that makes you smile to yourself. The tuberose is definitely most dominant but it’s tempered by the other notes, and focuses overall on the fresher, greener aspect of the flower, still a bit carnal though. It’s a good one for those who dislike strong scents. I’m lucky I got my hands on a 100ml at a very discounted price. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and I think this is a niche gem.

Reviewing a bottle of EDP from 2024. Tuberose in Silk was launched in 2020. Tuberose in Silk is a soft and elegant floral fragrance with an interesting twist. This is a fairly simple and linear scent. A bit of bergamot to open with orange blossom and green high quality Indian tuberose. The interesting parts are the iris - adding a touch of powder and the camphor for balsamic greeness. All this over a musk/amber base that does not clobber you with synthetic fog. Quality: 4/5 very good ingredients; excellent blending Feminine Performance 4/5 great sillage; lasts 6-8 hours on me Overall, this is a calm pretty tuberose that is exceptionally versatile. Purchased during my "tuberose" phase it is one of my easy reach florals. 7/10

Fresh dewy white floral bouquet... Fresh tuberous, & jasmines wrapped in orange blossoms. It is drenched in moist & very lusciously juicy. It has a touch of amber, & musk. This is one of the masterpieces i have sniffed from Floris as i recently leaned towards white floral and vintage floral blends. This blend is for jasmines & tuberous lovers. Love this beauty. btw, this has nothing to do with their 2000 blend "Tuberous".

An absolute stunner. A level of mastery in scent, in both composition and execution, which is remarkably self-evident. Humility and grace. The ability to do what is right without fanfare and sycophantic praise; the act itself is the reward without ever perceiving it to be a reward. Refining the carnal for the divine.... these are some of my notes I have jotted down regarding Tuberose in Silk whilst wearing it. It is a very strong ‘like’. Very sultry and a bit seductive (without veering towards the carnal and base). Bright, earthy and green on opening; soft, delicate and smooth as it dries. Quite linear. Would be an all-around love love love perfume if the more greeny aspects of the tuberose lasted slightly longer... but that is really me nitpicking the minutiae.

For me this is almost a dead ringer for Do Son. It really reminds me of it. If you are a huge fan of that but don't like the price I would at least sample Tuberose in Silk and you can get FB of this at amazing prices on Fragrancenet. I already have to many tuberose fragrances in my collection and don't feel the need for more but this is a lovely marriage of tuberose and iris just like Do Son. The camphor is so slight here. Don't worry about it throwing the fragrance off. For tuberose lovers. Very beautiful.

Beautiful scent. Love the addition of camphor here. I like that it is not fruity leaning. It reminds me of Olene by Diptyque but with tuberose instead of jasmine.

This is a beautiful tuberose scent that I think is very similar to Creed's Iris Tuberose. It's very light, airy, and refined, but also, very dry. I don't find it particularly feminine so a guy who is concerned about that need not worry. Nor should you worry about the camphor note if that concerns you as I can barely smell it. While I like this, I think I need a little something more. Maybe a little more sweetness, or a heavier iris or touch of vanilla. Just something to make it a bit more feminine. Personally, though I am not the biggest fan of it, I prefer Do Son over this because it is a little meatier, with more substance and femininity.

A calm and not-overly-voluptuous tuberose, very natural and not too vintage-lady-like. As other reviewers have said, it is quite similar to Diptique Do Son (edt), only somewhat more airy (in a good and uplifting way)! My one complaint is that it is quite weak: I feel I should spray 2-3 times as much of this than I do with most other scents. Weak longevity as well. Not that Do Son fares much better: I sprayed them on both at the same time for a direct comparison and they are equally weak. Carry the bottle around with you!

Tuberose in Silk by Floris exudes quiet luxury through its premium ingredients and subtle sillage. The initial unveiling presents a fresh-cut and lifelike tuberose note, akin to fragrances like Do Son by Dyptique or Accordi di Profumo Tuberosa India by The Merchant of Venice. However, it also incorporates subtly powdery and dry facets, complemented by a delicate hint of camphor that enhances realism without overwhelming. Moreover, a pleasant balsamic undertone contributes to the overall delight of the scent. The fragrance swiftly transitions to a musky, ambery dry-down. Personally, I favor the captivating opening.

Why do Floris insist on adding one ingredient that completely throws off the rest of the fragrance?? They do this with so many perfumes. Want a creamy, floral orange blossom? - here, have some ginger with it! Want a luscious, beautiful, sweaty white tuberose? - here have some *camphor* with it! Camphor?! It smells like petrol! Headache and nausea inducing.

I had very high hopes for this one as I love tuberose as a note. It is very similar to Do Son (Edt) by Diptyque that I also own but there is a screechy note that throws me off and smells almost of hairspray on my skin (thankfully it doesn’t last). Chemistry is a weird thing. I’ve also smelled Iris Tuberose by Creed but that one was louder and stronger on the iris note. Not bad but probably not full bottle worthy for me.

Camphor will NEVER smell like petrol. That's naftaline. Like comparing olive oil with petroleum. PLEASE get your knowledge right before reviewing anything. Camphor ( the real one) is precious and balsamic. And costs accordingly too. Unfortunately, whoever penned the Fragrantica note description for Camphor hasn't done a good service either, have they.

Oh my word ! This is so beautiful ! I have so many smack you in the face Tuberose fragrances but this one is so elegant and so self assured. I was so lucky to find this for an amazing price on eBay. I'm a lucky tuberose lover.

she barely ever smiles. proper, very serious, mature, extremely cold and very collected. so reclusive, she lost the allure.
