White Rose

The Plush White-Rose Garden of Crypts, Queens & Swans... Oh wow! This is an amazing fragrance. The image I get is of opening the ancient crypt of Joan of Arc, to find her perfectly preserved and fresh flowers growing around her. There is a slight funereal dirge of melancholia here due to the white rose theme, but it only adds to the multi-layered drama & mystique. For instance, this could also be a dancer in Swan Lake, with a white mist swelling into the orchestra pit. This is a powdery floral scent, yes, but it's so much more, with centuries of layers of complexity and history that it's easy to believe that this is what the late Queen Elizabeth II wore on her 1947 wedding day. On one hand it's hard to believe it was composed in 1800, but on the other hand, not hard to understand why they're still making it. What pulls me in is the luminous violet that's nearly a lily, combined with carnation. I'm immediately struck by the similarities in the top notes to 1876 Histoires de Parfums (which was likely inspired by this), with the rose-carnation-violet combination, although the base is lighter here and more rooty-green with what smells like orris root or angelica. To say this is a powdery, vintage scent doesn't do it justice, because it's so floral and fresh, with a faint incense note underneath (not listed) that I'm not sure where it's coming from. Stepping back, overall I do get a fresh, white-rose garden. Signature scent worthy, and a must try for those who love florals. It's a love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

I tested this a few years ago and hated it. I got a sample of it from eBay because every time I checked on Floris USA website they never had samples available to buy. Then after seeing @anamandy review I thought I better give this another chance so I bought a bottle super cheap on fragrancenet. And low and behold this smells nothing like that sample I got off of eBay. Either it was super old, not stored properly or maybe my nose has changed. Who knows but now I see why Queen Elizabeth wore this. Wearing it now after a shower I smell so clean, so refreshed. Delicate but noticeable it could easily be a signature fragrance. I happened to be grocery shopping this afternoon and the floral department had the most beautiful white roses for sale. I stopped to smell them and was enchanted by their green but creamy smell. @anamandy is right (she knows her stuff) this does smell like white roses. So clean, so fresh. Like having the bouquet in the room with me. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying a bouquet but I have my beautiful bottle of Floris White Rose as the perfect consolation. Beginning to have a love affair with this house. Beautiful, powdery white carnation finish. Fit for a Queen!

Being the sentimentalist that I am, I bought a bottle of White Rose shortly after the Queen passed away. I have a soft spot for fragrances with a history behind them and I thought what better way to commemorate the late monarch than to add the fragrance she wore on her wedding day to my collection. It was a blind buy, as they all tend to be nowadays for me, I'm so glad I found a bottle, what a beautiful timeless fragrance. That Floris quality which is the epitome of the brand is very apparent from the get go. It's so wonderfully blended, from the initial blast of pure rose, which swiftly takes on the complexity which only a fine fragrance can truly emulate. In short, White Rose smells like the monarchy; expensive but not flashy, timeless but classical enough to remain relevant; an institution not to be questioned, but to be appreciated by those of us who understand the history and majesty there incurred. Loved beyond reason.

Blind purchased this one over the internet again.It pretty much becomes my habit now LOL. Totally agree that this frag smells very soft & delicate. It stays close to the skin without being overbearing.i'm also agreed wth Melyhelly as this frag can get a little bit powdery on a hot weather. Well i can definitely smell the rose with a little touch of jasmine but not the violet and iris. Strangely,I also get the soft smell of white frangipani on my skin after a couple of hours which is not listed anywhere in the notes. On the drydown i can smell the trail of amber and musk which i find very lovely. Anyone who's a big fan of roses should try this frag as it's really worth trying n having.

White Rose does begin with a soft, floral rose but quickly turns into a candied violet. There are notes that remind me of Kenzo's Flower on some level, but it is less powdery and more floral. The violet notes linger for quite some time before turning into a light musk that disappears quietly on my skin. It is a very feminine and somewhat old-fashioned scent, by which I mean classic not musty. Perfect for garden parties and picnics and attractive to men looking for a classic lady. My only gripe is it isn't the longest lasting fragrance on my skin, though it tends to linger on my clothes.

Spicy herbal floral... It is a delicious (not gourmand) floral blend of carnations, black pepper, cloves, violets, chili powder, aldehyde, grind powdered jasmines, & more spices. This reminds me of "Oeillet Louis XV" by Oriza L. Legrand as i honestly love how this blend cools-down! It is one of the blends that i really love and enjoy as it needs maybe cooler days to bloom. Stunningly Beautiful.

This is the most beautiful fragrance! The rose is not overbearing. In fact it is very refined and polite. The carnation note is quite prominent and lovely. The aldehyde and orris add their magic in an opulent, but understated way. I think this is a profoundly English perfume and it has been around since the early 1800s.

Rose at its finest. A rose in its most exquisite form — subtle, pure, and refined. An elegant perfume for a lady: serene, enchanting, and quietly graceful. I understand why it is associated with Queen Elizabeth II. Sheer charm and allure. Classic.

I love this one for its musk and amber more than anything else. It really sings in humid weather (which hardly ever happens here) when it turns sultry and sexy - in spite of its pristine name. Surprisingly, a bombshell fragrance.

@adrienhuang & @adrien99 yes this perfume really smelled of white roses almost like a dried white roses actually. However the smell in this perfume is pretty transparent and you have to carefully smell it to recognize the smell.

This is a beautiful scent of old world (and old money) vibes...very Her Majesty the Queen! I normally approach powdery fragrances with tremendous caution, but this one is definitely a win!

I get more rose than powder. Lovely rose forward scent, appropriate for any occasion. Good sillage and longevity, especially for an EdT!

A superb creamy rose. Very, very rosy and floral, but with less fruity pink sweetness and more cream and powder facets. Delightful.

I smell like an actual white rose in a garden

I don't know how they did it, but this smells exactly like a white rose - very pure, and creamy, and clean. There are other florals in here, but they are taking a back seat to the rose. This makes me think of bathing with a luxurious rose soap and using a light dusting of a floral scented powder afterward. It very prettily gives an aura of fresh floral cleanliness rather than of wearing an actual perfume. Yet the scent, though light, lasts all day on me.. I can understand why the late Queen Elizabeth liked this so much. In her position she had to meet a lot of people and not offend anyone, and this is certainly a perfume for that. After all, who can have anything against smelling clean and well-groomed? Since I tend to gravitate towards light airy floral scents anyway, this is right in my wheelhouse. I imagine that air of floral cleanliness will be wonderful during the sweltering days of summer though this floral profile smells terrific right now too.

The very definition of a soapy floral, this smells very natural. I don't know much about the differences between roses, but I can say that this white rose isn't the least bit green or spicy. It's mellow and rather creamy. There are so many notes that I've yet to notice, but I've only worn this once, so the notes I notice most are rose and powder, with a touch of aldehydes which I believe gives the impression of soapiness. I'm giving this some time to sit. The weather has been brutally hot, so I'm sure with time, I will recognize some other notes and how they contribute. There is a reason this has been around since 1800. It's classic, but not matronly, timeless, but not stodgy. Some may consider it too old-fashioned simply because it is a rose perfume, but if you enjoy florals, especially rose, than I can say with a large degree of certainty that you like, if not love, this EDT.

In the beginning this smells like rose, pure and simple, but the rose promptly disappears and I start smelling carnation (just like the one in Floris Malmaison) and transparent, slightly powdery violets that verge on leather. It’s a pretty floral scent, perfect if you want to be daintily feminine for a few hours. There’s a good bit of sillage, even after most of the floral notes have dried down to the dry, violet-suede ending. As might be expected with a delicate scent like this, it doesn’t last very long, about 4-5 hours at most, but I did notice the violet scent on my clothes the following day. I’m not sure why this is called White Rose, since the rose was upstaged by a hoard of violets early on. If you like subtle and pretty violet scents that are not too sweet, woody or musky, White Rose is worth a try.

At first it just smelled like Tea Rose Perfumer's Workshop which I already have. Eventually it went through a sweet cheesecake phase which I did not care for, but thankfully that did not last long. That did give me an impression of whiteness, but white like a cheesecake rather than like a white rose. In the deep dry down it finally became a really nice rose scent, sweet but not in a gourmand way, and did not remind me too much of any other fragrance. Unfortunately at that point I literally had to press my nose to my arm to smell it. I think it's just not suited to my climate here in the desert. I never really got an impression of a white rose particularly, just a rose. I think the color is an idea rather than an actual scent.

When you spray this on,straight away you are hit with a strong white rose /white peony - it is sort of spicy nose tingling rose sensation - which may well be because of the presence of the clean and sharp iris note. Overall it feels crisp, clean, rosy, spicy and to my nose very surprising it has a smell of the blue tin NIVEA cream I remember from my childhood, not nivea soft, but the original blue tin and it is sort of a spicy rose nivea. Projection is non existend, fades away quite quickly on my skin and you have to press your nose to your sking to smell it. Maybe good for layering with other clean type of scent or spritz after the shower if you want to feel clean and maybe even layer with Nivea cream itself

I am a rose scent enthusiastic and I heard that the Queen wore this on her wedding day and thus I blind bought it out of curiosity. I have to say it is a bit different from my expectation, but still in a good way. I thought it would be a more floral and delicate rose scent with some freshness from a combination of white flowers. However, I noticed its powderiness the moment I sprayed it. Its powdery vibe is very soft that it does not offend anyone and it blends well with the rose. It creates a soapy, clean, baby-like scent that makes me feel calm and relax. Overall, I am enjoying this fragrance very much and it does not disappoint me even though it was a blind buy.
