Narcissus Fatale

I rather enjoyed this although it was my least favorite of the three ( I got them all). I found it to be rather linear with the exception of a little bit of a fruity opening. It's a pleasant kind of earthy, sweet narcissus. Someone here mentioned that it lasts forever, but I found I had to reapply every couple hours so maybe that's just my body chemistry. All things considered, for the price it is a steal. Oleander is best. Jasmine a close second and this is third simpy because the others are fabulous.

My bottle, regrettfully, is nearly empty. I enjoyed this so much all year long. On me it opens with a blackberry fruity note, it moves on to a green floral Narcissus with a clean musky- patchouli base. 5-6 hours of pleasure and medium sillage. It is not overly sweet and it's agreeable at the office.

@josephquartana: How others treat us is THEIR karma; how we react is ours. Neither you nor Ms. Barrymore can claim to have originated the theme of fatal flowers. I was in high school many years ago when I first encountered the concept of a garden of fatal flowers in a story published in 1844 by American author Nathaniel Hawthorne called "Rappaccini's Daughter". Anyone can, as you say, "Look it up." And, just curious... are you going after every perfume house that uses the term Fatale? You might find L'Agent Provocateur a more formidable target than Ms. Barrymore. And don't forget Ms. Kardashian's 2014 release Fleur Fatale, which predates your series by two years. But I don't see HER posting rants about YOUR series. It's a big marketplace, Mr. Quartana, and good will, or lack thereof, plays a significant role in the choices consumers make in where, and where not, to spend our money. (Just ask Mr. Galliano...or Jean-Paul Guerlain.) So, be a gentleman and consider two things: 1) Not everyone can afford niche prices and 2) Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Those who like the concept of fatal flowers but aren't satisfied by the quality of a mass market version MIGHT be persuaded to try a niche version, i.e., yours. But believe me, you cannot bully anyone into becoming a customer with a snippy, childish rant employing all caps. Finally, your site lists prices for the Fatales line at $145-$185 per bottle while Ms. Barrymore's lists her line at $15 per bottle. No one is going to confuse or equate them any more than we'd confuse or equate Boone's Farm wine from Walmart with a fine French Beaujolais. There's room in the marketplace and a wide enough customer base for both extremes.

Having worn gourmands almost exclusively for the past month I was looking forward to a bit of a change with a floral, even a reportedly sweet one. I mean, Narcissus in the name PROMISES a floral, right? And Narcissus Fatale suggests something a bit dark. So far, so good for a change-up. I'm wearing Narcissus Fatale and all I can smell is a variant of Pink Sugar without PS's licorice bite. I'm enshrouded by a cloud of blue cotton candy and my teeth almost ache. Apparently Fatale in the name means nothing dark or mysterious but instead suggests the possibility of expiring due to festering tooth decay. Once the discord of expectation vs. reality dissipates though, Narcissus Fatale isn't awful; in fact, it's pretty darn good. Had it been named Cotton Candy Paradise or Blue Raspberry Popsicle I'd say "Spot On!" because it reminds me of both. At the moment I can't imagine when I'll be in the mood to wear it but I'll give it a go in summer when I often crave a scent that puts me in mind of a beach vacation and boardwalk treats. Forget the notes pyramid, ignore the concept of fatal flower and embrace the fact that this is blue cotton candy or blue raspberry popsicles. I think NF would be a very safe gift for someone 12 years old or younger, or someone who just wants to feel like one for a little while.

This is the transitional stage between wearing Body Fantasies Cotton Candy body spray as a tween and Lacome La Vie Est Belle as a young adult. It seriously smells like a blend of the two. If you like both of those, you will enjoy this.
