Mémoires d'une Palmeraie 14

Foah 14 is a very attractive combination. Might be a bit loud the first half an hour, but it mellows after that. It is both fresh and grounded, seductive and sweet and gets very nice unsolicited compliments from people around, so sillage must be incredible. I've tried 5 different Foah, but this one is the only one that I had to get a bottle of. It is not your typical oud, it is very soft and alluring, some tonka bean sweetness and flowery freshness, very well blended. Definetly a scent for the days and nights you feel special and want everyone to notice. Might be too loud for the office.

A highly complex shape-shifting winter perfume. Starting with rosy aroma with watery green accord coming from pine note used as the brand trademark. Slowly and cohesively the multifaceted oud start to shine with it's sweet, woody, leathery and slightly incensey nature. If you love the discontinued Estee Lauder Amber Mystique, this is an amazing replacement because the drydown is strongly similar one to another. FO'AH - 14 is not as nuclear but bold with a bit refinement.

A very versatile and non offensive rose oud combo. It leans more on the feminine side and could be worn on a bright sunny day by a beautiful smiling woman wearing a white summer dress. I like the feeling of this scent since summer is my favorite season.

Okay 14 is a bit more of a 'standard' outing. Still it's better than most of the tired, hackneyed, oud/rose shite that comes out. So when an 'Oud' really smells of real oud to me, it's notable, not being snobby there just saying. I actually like synth oud accords but it's such a broad church Oud has kinda become the jazz of perfumery. There are no wrong notes. A woody amber incense accord of ANY nature has the oud label slapped on it. Anyway, main thing is that it's a well blended, not stupid rose, it doesn't smell cheap, it's complex, woody but has a the bright, breezy theme copy and pasted (in a good way) throughout these fragrances, made more impressive by the fact that they are done by different perfumes. Obviously the strong brief and expertise has yielded success this time. I'm not hopping up and down and I probably am not really looking to wear it again but I think it's a decent perfume, a good effort all around.

I absolutely love this one and is my favorite of all FO'AHs. It was one of the first 'niche' encounters and possibly what got me into it. Smelled it first time last year, trying to spend a gift voucher without knowing half of the names in the shop, at the suggestion of the shop assistant, after me innocently asking for a woodsy, unisex one. I think he didn't care too much for my brief, since he obviously gave me the most feminine of the bunch but clearly the most palatable. It lingered and transformed beautifully from an oud and saffron sweet smell to a flowery, rosy, salty note, becoming more fresh but also intricate and seductive as the evening progressed. I have the discovery and I can say that out of all, this one is the most original but perhaps not as long lasting on my skin as no 8 or 2. Waiting for an opportunity to spritz this more generously on day out to see how I enjoy being enveloped by the scent. L.E as I was sitting and typing away into the evening, eight hours later, whiffs of this came up from my arm. Scent is actually clinging well to skin. Just lovely!

Correct pyramid: Top Notes : Saffron, Siberian pine Heart Notes : Note Palm tree, Damask rose, Oud wood Base Notes : Musk, sandalwood It's an oud fragrance with a bit of rose. As oud perfumes go, this one is on the more european and easy to wear side of things, although it already has the characteristic rubber and medicinal undertones.
