Akatsuki Melba

One of my best blind buys of the year! Absolutely love this. It feels very soft feminine. I get raspberry jam with some peach and vanilla. Also a bit of a cabbage patch kid (the super soft vanilla scented doll rubber of 80s&90s). 💕 Probably 6-8 hour wear on skin, WAY longer on clothing. Not giant silliage but constantly get whiffs throughout my entire wear. This isn't a beast, isn't weak either but totally worth the $155 I paid for it. I'm wearing it today for Christmas Eve. Might wear it again tomorrow. I feel like this would be suitable anytime of year or day except maybe the high heat of summer. Really intrigued now with this brand. Definitely love at first sniff, highly recommend

It's nice, but it's also a very simple perfume. A safe blind buy I must say. Not very mature. But - to buy a 100 ml here in Norway I'd have to pay $300. I don't think so. You can also buy smaller bottles, like 15 ml for $100. Don't think so either. The price doesn't add up to the performance. And the sillage and longviety is poor. At least on me. Another edit from me; this is one of the best perfumes I've ever smelled. So unique, but so likeable. The notes would make you think it's a juvenile perfume - but it's definitely not. I've never smelled anything like it ❤️ Plus - the bottle is cheek in it's simplicity.

This is simply great! 😍 I had the chance to smell it thanks to a fragrance reviewer who happens to be a great friend of mine and it is amazing. It is a gorgeous raspberry jam with a hint of peach, and a good amount of salted caramel, it’s creamy but not lactonic. Not overly sweet either. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin. Sillage is wide! Extremely nice, unique. Not synthetic at all. The quality is obvious! Raspberry and a creamy Tahitian vanilla are the perfect match as it dries down. It has a certain uniqueness to it that I love. Please try to go and sniff it. I need a full bottle asap ❤️

Fomowa is indeed an overhyped brand. The marketing is amazing but the scents are not what you would expect based on the notes. There are better gourmand houses out there, such as Theodoros Kalotinis, Jousset (with a couple duds) to name a few. However, Akatsuki Melba is my favourite release by Fomowa so far, I realy like it! It smells like a fruity jam mostly, especially the opening is truly beautiful. There is some raspberry, some currant leaves, some tropical fruits, some fruity vanilla. At the same time it has that powdery, kind of synthetic characterstic Fomowa vibe, it is best described as deodorant taste, if you ever licked a deodorant, you will know what I mean, that specific powdery feel hits your tong. I do not get the salted caramel that much. Also, it is not exactly similar to Buontalenti, but they do share some sort of resemblance. I do totally recommend you sampling Akatsuki Melba I you are into fruity gourmands, I did actuality buy a bottle after sampling a decant first. Performance is pretty good, although not extraordinary. An easy reach for sure!

Akatsuki Melba opens with a burst of peach and raspberry, and maybe some osmanthus. As it dries down the jelly joins in and becomes richer as time goes on. At this stage it’s a juicy raspberry/blackcurrant jelly scent. As it continues to dry down, the caramel appears, still with the jelly note in the background. I’m not really getting any vanilla or tonka, but that could be my sense of smell. It’s quite a long lasting fragrance. I also find this a bit similar to "Licorice | Federico Cantelli" , which I also liked but chose to sell. While this doesn’t have a liquorice note, the main note I get in both is a jelly blackcurrant scent. If you have one, you definitely don’t need the other. This wont be a full bottle buy for me, but it’s a fun and interesting scent I enjoy smelling. A good 7.5/10 for me. I’d say it’s the best scent from this house so far, and could probably be worn all year round.

This smells like candy floss (with some burnt sugar) and dehydrated strawberries that you can find in granola. Again very strange scent but you want to keep smelling it!

Completely unexpected that I would time travel back to when I would play with Strawberry Shortcake scented dolls from my 80's childhood, but it's lovely.

I think the jelly note ruined it for me, made it sticky sweet, kind of acridly so. I might have liked it otherwise? I do get the raspberry, peach and cassis. Was just a little too synthetic smelling for me. I'm not familiar with the dessert they based this on so can't speak to its similarity.

Starts off fruity sweet yogurt, jam. Not my thing for a perfume.

this is really nice, but it’s not my favorite. unfortunately i tried it the same day as peach macaron, which was exactly what i was looking for, so this one fell a little flat in comparison. it’s a very clean, fresh peach that slowly turns into a gentle caramel and tonka scent. the jelly aspect is nice and sugary and compliments the bit of salt in the caramel. the scent follows the notes as expected, none stand out too much or too little. projection isn’t too crazy, and it seems to last a couple hours. i don’t really think you can go wrong with it, it just didn’t wow me compared to the ultra juicy and intriguing peach macaron :’) if you’re looking for a fresh, jammy medley that turns subtly dessert-like without ever becoming cloying or sickening, this is the one for you.

I want to preface by saying I LOVE Red Keela Split it’s the perfect strawberry banana with a little creamy nuttiness it’s soooo realistic and yummy at the same time so since I own that I was excited for this new release and I’m glad I got a 9ml from scentsplit because even though the notes should be my perfect scent.. my nose hates this.. the jammy jelly note is playing with my nose real weird and I get the yogurt vibes everyone keeps saying and I just don’t like it. No thank you. Try before buying on this one for sure or just skip it altogether because there are better raspberry and caramel combos.

If only it lasted, the peach & raspberry are outstanding but little to no sillage & very quickly a skin scent. I'll come back to this after a couple of weeks to see if it macerates but I can't justify £160 for something that barely lasts.

This was really bad. I scrubbed it off. Very sharp in the dry down. I was expecting a sweet raspberry caramel vanilla scent and I found this to be very unpleasant. Definitely try before buying

This smells a lot like peach yogurt, both the Mochiglow perfume and the real thing
