Summer Vine

Absolutely fascinating scent, very fond of it as it reminds me of playing in the greenhouse as a child. Beautifully crafted, it really does paint a picture of warm summers in a greenhouse, fresh tomato vines and delicate florals. Green, fresh, uplifting and perfect for summer. I recommend this brand to anyone who likes green, nature inspired perfumes that are a bit different.

Smells like standing in a small greenhouse in the middle of July in the UK, eating a cherry tomato off the vine, after washing your hands with a really clean and fresh bar of soap. Soapyness, sweet pea, rose-y floral powdery scent. Loved it.

This is lovely! Really very distinctly summery, sweet, and pleasant! It also develops on the skin in an intriguing way. I have to admit, one of the first things the opening brought to mind was the smell of bathroom cleaning products. Not in an unpleasant way, but I couldn’t shake the comparison once my nose picked up on it. Maybe it’s the citrus? However, once the fragrance settled on my skin, it transformed into this gorgeous sweet, ever so slightly powdery floral. It has just the right amount of greenness to balance the sweetness. Foras does these English summery scents really well. Folkestone Green is the only other I’ve sampled but I was struck by how photorealistic the grass note was in that. With Summer Vine, it’s not as realistic, but it does conjure up a fragrant summer day. I’m looking forward to the rest of my discovery set!

Okay so I absolutely love tomato plant scent, it is my favourite scent in life and when I first tried this perfume I was thoroughly disappointed. I think that disappointment came from it not being an exact copy of this scent I love so much. Now, with this understanding, I like this perfume very much and think that it does in fact come quite close to tomato plant, with its own extra notes (which go and are also nice). Also, it never claimed to be tomato vine - it's summer vine and it does a very fine job at that.

The notes intrigued me so I ordered a sample, and I was shocked by how powdery it was! Still very much floral with some freshness but I was definitely expecting said freshness to be at the forefront, alas. I couldn't and still can't put my finger on what this reminds me of. Very, very, very VERY vaguely it somewhat reminds me of Marc Jacobs Daisy, but I know there's an actual perfume that's a lot more similar. It has that hazy powdery floral quality to it that I attribute to late 80s/early 90s perfumery, somewhat - again, only vaguely - in line with Coty Exclamation but rendered in a very modern way without the "stink" of animalics, carnation, mace, etc... Another obvious comparison given the tomato note, but you might enjoy this if you like MMM Replica From the Garden. That one is a lot more earthy and unisex but if you're a sucker for a tomato note in any iteration you might enjoy this too! Overall this is pretty and feminine but when it comes to floral perfumes I have very specific taste and if it doesn't fall into the narrow perimeters of what I like I won't wear it. I'm going to pass on my sample to a friend who loves sweet pea as a note and I'll report back with her thoughts!

strong tomato leaf on the opening, and I found on the dry down it smells exactly like fruit salad sweets. alas, I didn't realise this would settle so floral after a few hours, not my thing. selling my 50ml bottle on vinted & ebay if anyone's looking! :')
