All The Queens Men

All the Queen’s Men is one of newest three releases from the brilliant Melbourne-based house of Fort & Manle, capping off the brand’s new presentation, still in 50ml size, as well as the new collection, which keeps some earlier releases with others being discontinued. All the Queen’s Men’s a sweet, sappy, fruity, woody blend, a nectar of honey, dried fruits, resins, vanilla, and a light sprinkling of cinnamon. It involves the dried fruit in a very skillful way, maybe more so than, say, Tobacco Vanille, but less so that in a fragrance where the fruits might better be described as “stewed”—wetter, more pervasive. Here, the balance among the honey, resins, dried fruits, and cinnamon (against a vaguely woody backdrop) is pivotal. As with other Fort & Manle fragrances, it’s difficult to anticipate how well the sum of the parts plays off, but as usual, they execute superbly with a very enjoyable final product that, while not being the most unusual/innovative/daring concept, pays off in a big way due to the smoothness and ease of wearing. All the Queen’s Men is EDP concentration and performs well, also, not outstandingly like some of the darker scents in the line, but its performance is good. It is priced at $250 for 50ml, now the price for every fragrance n the line, a notable increase from before for all except Bojnokopff, and the only two stockists in the US are Luckyscent (whose physical locations are known as the Scent Bar) and Tigerlily, whose main operations are in Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively. 8 out of 10

This reminds me of Naomi Goodsir's Or Du Serail but without the rotten-wood note that unfortunately took over that composition for me. I really love this: a whisky barrelly, honeyed delight. Unfortunately I got a sample while I was in the US and now I'm back in the UK I can't find anywhere that sells it. If anyone from Jovoy, Bloom or Lessenteurs is reading this, please get this brand in immediately!

Testing my sample; this is a jar of rich plummy fruits infused with honey, rum, and cinnamon, Makes you want to nibble at your skin, but it's not necessarily foody, if that makes sense. Perfect for cool/cold weather, perfect for frigid winter temps because all you need is body heat. Full bottle worthy for sure.

This is really nice, the silage is definitely within arm reach. For the scent, i smells gentle and woody very cozy and gives off that sweet fruity plum with a cup of cinnamon latte. I love it but will consider despite the price 😬

Gorgeous. Rum, dried fruits, vanilla, and woods produce a soft, creamy, woody accord that feels elegant and indulgent. One of the most most intoxicating fragrances from Fort and Manlé.

I want this so bad! It's a beautiful blend of woody and powdery. I love it so much. And of the collection this one is the one that lasts longest. I am so getting this!

The notes are what attracted me to All the Queens Men. I'm a big fan of dried fruits, honey, and cinnamon notes in particular, and have collections for all those notes, plus plum and fig. On test blotter, I thought this smelled like raisins soaked in cough syrup. A bit quasi-medicinal. But today's test wear on skin and clothes, luckily, didn't manifest that way. This is exquisitely scrumptious, as the notes promised, although I do suspect the blending in this, as I often do with self-taught perfumers. All the Queens Men is a bit different than most of my other similar scents, which I attribute to an amped-up rum note, which seems to have the effect of cutting through the dense dried fruits and honey, "thinning" it in a way. That's probably what came across as quasi-medicinal on test blotter. And the fir balsam note, which Ive seen paired with dried fruit in other compositions, really lifts the accords. By memory, Michael for Men by Michael Kors in my collection have dried fruit and fir resin notes. Fille en Aiguilles by Serge Lutens is another. But All the Queens Men and Michael otherwise diverge, with All the Queens Men going the way of booze and honey, while Michael goes the way of suede and incense. Both very good compositions. Michael greatly outperforms All the Queens Men, however. There is at least a superficial similarity to Zoologist Bee too. This suffers in performance. Its closer to another boozy, dried fruity fragrance in my dried fruit/plum collection: Le Dandy by D'Orsey, which happens to be my holy grail Gourmand as well. But this All the Queens Men is worthy of an addition to my collection. Scent PROFILE is King.

Soft woody gourmand scent which is a slight variation of the limited edition ‘La Whatever’ by the same perfumer. The perfume opens with notes of dried fruits and rum before proceeding to a heart of vanilla, cinnamon and honey. It dries off into woody notes and synthetic musk. Overall the unisex scent has moderate sillage and longevity and is a pleasant unobtrusive wear in any setting and weather. Enjoy!

Rum raisin ice cream, minus the lactonic element. Starts off strong and very sweet, a little tartness from the dried fruits. Boozy, sticky dried fruit, vanilla notes dominate with cinnamon in the background. Dries down a little woodier, a pleasant -- if sugary -- evening scent for cold weather. Unfortunately, performance was weak and it was almost gone within an hour.

Official sample. Honey Amber Syrup. The top notes have a coconutty vibe with the Fort & Manle‘s distintive apple woody mody accord. Although it is very rich and sweet, and it cannot be classified as gourmand fragrance. I am a little annoyed by the saliva smell that also appeared in Amber Absolutely. The new design of the bottle is beautiful and unique, but the design of the old bottle is more in line with the dark style of scent of the brand.

I'm really trying to like this one, but as another user commented, it smells a little too much like a scented candle. Performance is also very weak and it almost disappeared from my skin within an hour.

Makes you smell like a straight up fruit snack, I do not pick up any wood before full dry down.

Sticky, sickly sweet. Overripe fruit. Smells like a cheap candle.

I love this perfume so much more than I thought I would! I’m a huge gourmand/edible perfume lover and this isn’t a gourmand but it is sweet enough for me without being sickly at all either. Spicy stewed fruits with honey right at the top, then a resinous sappy note is prominent throughout, maybe a bit of rum in the background somewhere? I absolutely love boozy scents so I could have been happy with a bit more of that but it’s still good being subdued in the background. I don’t get the vanilla that other people are talking about. AND I’m surprised nobody is mentioning the foresty fresh balsam fir element! This is one of my favorite things about this fragrance! I was looking for a wintery/christmas-y perfume that’s sweet/spicy and feminine but still has that evergreen crisp forest accord without being masculine and this was PERFECT. I live near the redwood mountains in California and I love walking thru the forest breathing in that heavenly healing evergreen/wood smell. This perfume does that in a photorealistic way, and the that element becomes more prominent as it dries down. This fragrance overall makes me feel like I live at the edge of a wild forest in the wilderness in a cozy cabin, I’ve stewed together fruits I’ve foraged with honey and rum for an offering to the fae or maybe to some pagan forest sprite, and thru the woods I run briskly with the stags alongside me, back from my precarious offering place, as the fae are capricious and tricksy; not to be trusted. Back to my warm cabin smelling of Yuletide.

I've had these new F&M scents on the backburner trial-wise for the last 8 or 9 months, and now that a bit of skin real-estate time opened up, I decided to finally take these beauties out for a spin. The honey is right up in your grill, but it's been tempered by something. It's not sickly sweet, it's not teeth-rottingly potent, it's been transformed amazingly into something I like. I'm not usually a fan of honey, and I only have a handful of them, but MAN this is done well. It's really got me thinking... The booze and fruits work perfectly with the honey, in the proportions that they are in, they all work excellently and play off each other well. I really REALLY need to sit with this one, possibly on its ownsome, and work out how much I like this one... I'm finding myself in a state where I like it and I don't need it, but also wanting to buy it. I need to try this one again...

There is a hookah shisha brand called DeCloud that has about the same consistency of that of a fruity/Berry Marmalade/Jam and also incorporates natural fruits in the product. Anyway, I used to smoke this type of shisha and this fragrance smells JUST LIKE IT!! This smells like sweet mixed berries just like in DeCloud during the opening stages and then veers into honey amber territory. I need to test from a full bottle to really absorb everything here!

If you love honey, this is the holy grail of honey scents. It is a syrupy sweet dark honey with a tad of raisin and less cinnamon. No vanilla or rum on me. I swear I could smell the clover but there's no clover notes mentioned. I just can't see myself shelling out that much on a honey gourmand.

Boozy fruits.... I get sweet boozy fruits mixed with rum and honey. The balance of sweet, fruits, and the honey is perfectly put. This blend is perfect for holidays season with that cozy and boozy notes. Beautiful.

It’s stunning, woody, fruity, Spicy warm gorgeous rum and vanilla it’s just a delightful fragrance. Lasted about four hours on my skin.
