Emilie Parfum

Extremely beautiful, vintage-like classic creation. Opens with powdery violet and rose, quite shy, timid, but later gains even more vintage qualities, there is lily of the valley felt, then the composition turns amber-y and incense-y. If anything vintage gives you nausea, avoid, this is very classic perfumery. Great longevity and projection. In comparison with, for example, Lipstick Rose, which also has rose and violet, this is more voluptuously floral when it dries down, less powdery, lily of the valley is quite noticeable, and it has more of that sort of incense-like quality. They take a very different route when drying down, even though might smell similar in the beginning.

I just noticed that after spraying this rushing out the house it smells very similar to Silence by Jacomo that I’ve been wearing all summer long. So I just did a little research right here on Fragrantica and guess what ? They share 8 of the same notes! I’d say Silence is indeed greener but Emilie is not a rose Rose, it’s a green powdery rose. I’m going back to Fragonard today to pick up an extra bottle because the lady told me it’s discontinued and they only have a few left. The edt a lighter do, that didn’t last on me.

Emilie is the rosiest of roses. She is velvety, slightly spicy, slightly soapy (a bit old school 90's) and slightly sweet. In the parfum version, she is rich and warm, while the EDT delivers some freshness. I have both and they are both beautiful on their own or together. I always enjoy wearing her. If you like YSL Parisienne, YSL Paris, or Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge, you may appreciate this.

Sweet violets, soapy lilly of the valley, sugar dusted rose petals and fresh tiny little jasmines. such a classic floral. I can see why some might be reminded to Guerlain Rose Cherie and YSL Paris. the sweet (but not overly candied) rose-violet combo! For me, this is less powdery more soapy slightly sugar dusted florals. Femine, classic and nostalgic.

Émilie feels like swimming in honey. It is a unique scent that radiates intelligence and elegance in a quiet way. It is a lover's perfume, one of who will live in the back of people's mind forever.
