Mon Immortelle

Je ne suis pas à priori un fan de Fragornard qui est une maison jolie respectable mais qui fait des parfums un peu trop simples et vieillottes pour moi . Avec des formules courtes et peu complexes, certes agréables mais pas transcendantes. Et bien "Mon Immortelle" fait exception ! C'est un très original mélange d'épices chaudes avec un contraste très intéressant entre le chaud et le froid. L'immortelle est très présente avec ses facettes épicées et chaudes, la cardamone et le gingembre apportent de la fraicheur et un côté herbacé presque médicinal. La réglisse très discrète apporte une petite notre sucrée délicieusement. Il me fait penser à "Un jardin en Méditerranée" d'Hermès que je possède également. C'est un parfum que j'adore porter en automne et en hiver parce qu' il est solaire et apporte de la lumière à une journée même grise et froide. Au printemps et en été il est délicieux et il se développe de façon incroyable sur la peau. Il a une bonne tenue (meilleure qu'un jardin en Méditerranée). C'est mon parfum préféré de chez Fragonard : on me demande toujours ce que je porte quand je le mets ! Il est superbe sur un homme aussi. : j'apprécie beaucoup quand mon mari le porte ! Attention : ne pas acheter à l'aveugle : il faut vraiment le sentir avant car il est très original.

Natural mediterranean spices. Not oriental type spices. Definitely some carrot in the background. Smooth, well blended, but bold for a Fragonard. It's not a scent I love but it's interesting. Glad to expand my palate but probably a no for me. Scent: 6 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 7

I so wanted to like this. It's basically two halves: a light floral, such as Fragonard do exceptionally well...and the immortelle. The two halves are not joined together properly. The light, airy, aldehydic floralcy is massively outweighed by the immortelle, and they never marry together. The seesaw does not balance. Immortelle is a difficult note and it's unwieldy in this very pretty, french, almost delicate setting. The "gaseous vibe" referred to below, is partly aldehydes and partly the top edges of cedar and ginger, unpleasantly contrasting with the immortelle, which is amped-up by the licorice. I soaped it off, but it stuck around, still. The ones you give up on, always do ;) Sorry Fragonard, if it's any consolation I adore so many other scents by this House... you could take the Immortelle and licorice out of this, and make a very pleasant scent. At present, for me anyway, it just doesn't work.

The cardamom and the licorice, with a heavy anise note, are far too strong, too woody and even too sweet for me. I would have preferred an herbal, green or even a slightly bitter/ medicinal note from the immortelle but it’s not there at all. It’s a big dislike for me.

Not a fan at all. Holy cow, the cedar, carrot, licorice, ginger, and flowers just do not work together. The licorice makes it especially awful and gives it a sickly gaseous vibe. Going to go scrub it off.

This is a floral, but not a light, fresh one. It's melancholic, almost violent. This is not the scent of sitting in a bright flower garden, this is the scent of being in the victorian era, mourning your late husband and placing imortelles on his grave. However, it is also a very strong scent that can be quite nauseating. Unfortunately I am migraine prone, and I couldn't take this for long. I will be reselling this one.

This is the only fragonard that I actually managed to smell, cause the others were so fleeting and subtle. It was pretty good, though not my cup of tea, spicy and lightly salty with a sweet background.
