Ambroise Pour Femme

This is NICE. I haven’t smelled the Guerlain Cherry Oud EDP that this is supposed to be a dupe of, but now I feel like I don’t need to. Ambroise Pour Femme is its own complete experience that I totally appreciate. I think what’s making it so Guerlainesque is the violet, rose, and patchouli as well as that cherry note that is reminiscent of La Petite Robe Noir. The leather note is like Black Perfecto. But it’s the cardamom and saffron notes that really take it to a new place for me. It’s really good. The whole vibe is confidence, playfulness, sensuality, and luxury. And like Guerlain perfumes, it has this timelessness about it that makes it seem like it’s been around for a hundred years while also feeling like something completely new. Ambroise is actually quite unisex in my opinion. I would totally enjoy smelling this on a man or a woman. Even though it’s springtime weather right now, I’m honestly still enjoying it and wonder if the only time it wouldn’t really work would be on a hot summer day. This is my first purchase from Fragrance World. I’m thinking it might not be the last.

The two reviews below are pretty much spot on, so I don't want to parrot back what's already been said. To me this is a sexy masculine, cherry, powdery leathery fragrance. I also did test it with Guerlain's Cherry Oud - definitely 80-85% similar. However Fragrance world has done such an outstanding job on this one, for the price it easily smells $150-$200 - very high quality. Now this is a HOT perfume for men with dark features and complexion. I've already had a male straight friend wear this, he has dark features and olive-tanned skin and IT IS ABSOLUTELY SUBLIME on him! 10/10 for price and quality - sleeper hit - should be named Ambroise pour Homme.

Good dupe of Guerlain Cherry Oud 🍒. Ambroise fragrance is softer and sweeter than the original. However, the original DNA is conveyed quite well. Especially in the sillage, the scents are about 80% similar. For those who don’t want to spend money on the original, the dupe is a decent alternative.

Side by side skin test with Cherry Oud: Less cherry and more rose in the opening, also sharper, which will be the violet my nose is picking up. They become more similar in the mid and initial drydown. The drydown of Cherry Oud turns to a lipstick, powdery rose within 2-3hrs at which point I don't like it very much, it then becomes a dirty musty smell, which is why I was curious to try this one. Ambroise Pour Femme retains a better smell on my skin, and also outlasted Cherry Oud in terms of longevity. It's not my favourite kind of scent profile, so I wasn't willing to buy a full bottle of the Guerlain, given that I'm not keen on the musty drydown. This nicely fills the gap for occasional times I might want this kind of scent. It definitely misses the airy cherry feel of the OG, but it's not like that lasts long anyway. The bottle is ugly and the sprayer could be better, but can't really complain for the price.

Cherry and oud sounded like a promising combination. The most dominant smell is nail polish remover, very strong and impossible to ignore. And no, it is not a matter of needing maceration. The bottle I have was manufactured more than a year before I opened it. If you focus, the scent underneath the nail polish remover is actually nice, but it is buried under chemical notes. 3/10
