B Satin Oud

I just received this fragrance the other day and I'm thrilled to have it in my modest collection. To some, especially younger fragrance enthusiasts, this is going to feel "old lady-ish". It's a powdery oud, vanilla and rose bomb with some spiciness to it. It's lovely and not nearly as synthetic as others have commented. At least no more synthetic than many designer fragrances. There's a bit of freshness to it and the vanilla/benzoin combo gives it a creamy, sweetness though it's not lactonic. The oud is not animalic so it comes off as a deep, warm woody note. Very few fragrances have any longevity on my extra dry skin. I was surprised when I woke up in the morning and I was able to still smell Barakkat Satin Oud on my clothes AND skin. After 12 hours of wear! If powdery, sophisticated compositions aren't your thing don't bother with BSO. For powdery fragrance lovers that aren't fishing for compliments this would be an easy blind buy. I'm in love with it.

Let me start off by saying, this is a very rich, dense, heavy, thick, sticky and powdery scent. Being said, this is very mature and intense. When I first got it, I was deeply offended by the smell. Almost had a plasticy gasoline synthetic type of smell to it. So, some time went by, and after 4 - 5 months on the shelf, it entirely shifted into something amazing. It almost smells identical to MFK Satin. Around 95% similar. I would say the only give away from the two, is when I sprayed them on a smelling strip, after coming back to smell them both side to side a 2 days later, the MFK smelt more like caramel while this smelt more silky and had a violet accord. Overall, to the average nose, or even enthusiasts, this smells almost identical. The price for performance and smell is astounding. 5 sprays will give you a heavy projection for an entire day, should only be worn on formal settings for a more mature audience. Overall, 9/10.

I own this fragrance. And I have had it for 6 months, it's beastly strong. Lasts over 10 hours on my skin. And as far as what it's trying to clone, it's a 1 to 1 of oud satin mood. Like spot on, I would say it's closer to the extrait, rather than the edp

this is great for special wearings,evenings,events, for me totally unisex i feel dark rose very seductive ,i dont find too feminine i dont care honestly i wear what i like not others.Performance eternal

After half year maceration this smells like a turkish delight,and not straight up rose,its definitely full unisex there is a darkness also from the oud which makes totally unisex.performance nuclear

Opening scared me as it smelled different to the inspiration, however the dry down is really nice and a lot more similiar to the original. Crazy performance too.

A very dark rose with oud. It smells vintage but done well. Dark and powdery. Performance is amazing. Excellent projection and longevity.

The spray on is syrupy overly sweet dense rose with vanilla. It's a little bit too sweet too my taste, lol, I get a little woozy if I spray on too much. But when it dries down it turns absolutely freakin amazing though. I love how the rose gets more subtle and this powdery violet mixed with vanilla, the benzoin and something woody takes over. The sweetness becomes just right and it balances out... 'Canstopsniffingmywrist' in the comments underneath said: "It's for someone over 40s, buy it for sollicitor's receptionist" in kind of a very condescending way....wel l I'm over 40s (an artist, psychologist, infj, 4w5), and he's absolutely right. 😉🥳 (Probably was not necessary being so condescending about it, but we all blind buy the wrong thing sometimes, I suppose lol 😉) But I do agree with him that this fragance doesn't radiate sexuality(it's super subjective though, it might be different for you). I mean sexuality doesn't come to my mind while wearing this. But to me it radiates something even better perhaps; nostalgia, feeling safe at home, coziness, the rose scented blankets at my grandmother's house, soothing hugs...And I love how some fragances like this one, bring you back to memories you've almost forgotten or buried somewhere but are so wonderful to remember when they resurface again with a certain fragance...To me that's worth a lot in life... Different fragances for different occasions... On my skin this lasts about 6 hours, maybe more. I'd give it an 8/10. If you don't like very VERY sweet, rose or powdery perfumes, might be a good idea to skip this one or to not blind buy it. 🫶✌️

This is clearly something I could smell on a grandma, but on a very special one, a grandma that remained youthful and with a real sense of élégance through all of her Life. This, for me, describes well this perfume. I could not personally wear it outside, it’s not my personality and, moreover, it is really strong and radiates ameverywhere. But sometimes I wear it at home and I got some wiffs here and there that are really pleasant. Not alcoholic, it is clearly not totally natural and smells synthetic in a way, but in a way that does not bother me. We can smell a heavy, strong rose, a powdery one, blended with the freshness of violet leaves. I can detect some oud but it is very light, not an animalic one, just an oud to add some woodiness and deepness to the base in order to sets up the vanilla, a sugary vanilla who really shines in the drydown, still with that powderiness which never quits this fragrance. You can even smell some caremely notes after 1h of wearing. I don’t recommand to blind buy, since it is really sugary and powdery, not really unisex imo, so be careful.

I have both bottles, the Barakkat and the new B Satin Oud version, and I can confidently say that this is not the same juice 100 percent. In my opinion, the original is by far the better one. The Barakkat version is overall stronger than B Satin Oud. It opens with violet taking the spotlight early on, before softening and blending beautifully with the rose. It starts off floral-heavy but gradually evolves into a powdery floral with subtle sweetness and the woodiness of oud. B Satin Oud, on the other hand, opens directly with rose, with just a hint of violet within it. It is sweeter right from the start compared to Barakkat. Overall, it feels slightly tuned to be more immediately appealing to a wider audience. Keep in mind that I got my bottles relatively new, so I will update my comment once they have had more time to masserati. But based on my initial impressions, If you want a scent that evolves and feels a bit more niche, Barakkat is the version to go for. If you prefer something more linear and mass-pleasing, B Satin Oud is your pick.

I got this fragrance recently. The rose is overpowering at first but at dry down, I can smell the vanilla with a bit of rose. I must say 50% rose, 30% vanilla, and 20% oud. Lasts long, it has a beast performance. It smells feminine but it's just your preference thats all that matters. I will be macerating this more, and might give a review again.

The only one in my collection that I have a back up bottle.LOVE this stuff and I wear it. Yes it is a rose frag and as a streight man I wear this and enjoy. This is 10/10 All DAY LONG.

I'm keeping my review short (ish) and straight to the point. This leans WAAAY more feminine than it does unisex. Don't expect anything masculine to come from this. Also, the violet and powder is VERY STRONG. This honestly reminds me of the Violet scented deodorant made by suave, but the scent is amped up to 1000! It's like the scent profile is on steroids. Wear time and projection is well above average. The projection on this is STUPID LOUD. If you apply this to clothing, you're going to smell this all day EASY. I can absolutely see this being headache inducing for someone who doesn't like ultra powdery fragrances, or heavy violet based fragrances. I highly recommend not over spraying this when you try it out, or wear it out.......I highly suggest starting with one or two sprays only, and then go from there. You can always add on more, because this can get suffocating FAST. This would be ok for every season apart from summer. In spring I would definitely go less on the sprays. You'd probably suffocate yourself if you tried wearing this in the summer or hot days in general. I would avoid a muggy day all together.

Predictably for this price point this was a synthetic, cloying, nasally irritating not much in particular. Its mediocre rose with a synthetic woody base and not much else going on. Stuck around for maybe 3 hours, doing nothing inspirational. As a guy who loves woody, exotic or spicy scents this definitely did not work for me and i would hesitate to call it unisex. I would call this offering as made for a female in a work situation and suitable for a woman over 40. Definitely not a bedroom scent or night out type of fragrance and not even a diva could radiate sexuality from this and a guy definitely couldn't. Yeah, just call it boringly one dimensional actually. Gift this to the solicitor's receptionist in your life, she'll be thrilled.

Straight up powdery rose, oud very shy in the background, good performance.. but didnt catch anything special on the scent profile.. still its an easy reach for praying (Shalat)

At first you are hit with a strong smell of roses but after a while it settles into a sweet powdery violet. In my opinion this reminded me of francesca bianchi adn.

This is definitely not a safe blind buy. I'd read so many positive reviews about that smell, and I made a mistake by getting a bottle without knowing what that actually might have smelled like. To my nose and head, it is far too heavy on soapy rose with something like sweet pot pourri, talc and dusty ash. I can't imagine a woman wear this fragrance; it's not sexy, it's not deep or mysterious. Outstanding? For sure, but in a suffocating way, to me at least. Huge disappointment.

Very good quality for the money but this is nowhere near a Unisex fragrance. It is most definitely a feminine fragrance and far too sweet imo. The smell reminds me of Frys Turkish Delight from the 70s and 80s. Bought a 100ml bottle for a tad over £13. Gifted to the wife..

I’ve not sampled Oud Satin Mood so cannot compare this with that. This to me smells like a big voluptuous cube of Turkish delight that has covered herself generously in rose talc and then rolled about in pot pourri. In the same realm as Montale’s Sweet Oriental Dream and Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum. One spray more than enough! Creates an inescapable cloud of sweet powdery rose, so unless you’re super into that I would not spray this anywhere near your neck or chest, as it’s all you’ll smell for hours. I can’t deal with that, so behind the knees might create more subtle experience. For all is beast mode rose, it is quite a comforting scent. Not sexy or youthful in the slightest, but kind of cosy like the crochet blanket your lovely heavily face powdered gran knitted for you. I am curious to try its inspiration and compare the two. If you’re into massive sweet powdery rose that veers into pot pourri territory (not a slight, Noir de Noir does this for me too and it’s one of my faves!) then you can get a bottle of B for as little as £13. EDIT: Well I've done a complete 180 on this one. I find it very suffocating and unwearable. I've tried as a room spray, as I do with many of my perfumes that don't quite hit the mark. Way too strong and persistent, one spray is overkill.

I've never seen this one before. The only FW one I've seen is Barakkat Satin Oud which is amazing by the way. Unless this is the same thing in different packaging, which it likely is. *I've seen the reply above saying that it definitely is Barakkat Satin Oud. I wouldn't say this is improved packaging though, the old one is better imo, but as long as the juice is the same is the main thing.

I circled back to this fragrance as I have had it for a few months. It was one of the first in my collection. At first spray/sniff, there is rose and oud. The oud is consistent throughout (as I like).. I don’t find it overpowering. It mellows nicely and I am assuming due to the violet in the dd. It is lovely. I can’t compare the original though. But I like fragrance world’s creation

I have confirmed with Fragrance World directly that it's the same Barakkat Satin Oud but with improvement packaging.
