Barakkat Ambre Eve

Ahhhh...Barakkat Grand Soir...Oops, I mean Amber Eve... That's my point friends, this is a heck of an AWESOME dupe that it makes you think you are wearing the real thing. I have received a lot of wonderful compliments from people and nearly everyone who guesses the scent, guesses MFK Grand Soir. While I really want to correct them, I prefer to let them continue thinking that I am wearing MFK's Grand Soir but the truth is: Amber Eve is the real deal and I absolutely love it. A great fragrance for a great price! For those of you wondering, Yes, I have compared them side by side at Bloomingdales: Barakkat Amber Eve vs MFK Grand Soir...in person, two sprays on each arm. My family as well. And we all agree, this is a great buy! And while the initial opening there is a very slight difference, after 20-30 mins, we are talking nearly identical in the dry down - its not a question. All this means only one thing: If you don't want to spend $300+ on MFK Grand Soir and are willing to sacrifice a very subtle difference in the opening for the first 20-30 mins, then my friend you are headed to a nearly identical dry down of an awesome MFK Grand Soir dupe for the amazing price of $15 on Amazon..Barakkat Amber Eve nailed it!

Omggg... finally a NON-gourmand woody vanilla. The dry down of this is a very near dupe of Annick Goutal’s Vanille Exquise, a favorite of mine before it became too difficult or expensive to buy. There is only a tinge of sweetness, unlike so many vanillas out there. The benzoin / guaiac wood lingers with slight smoky notes that perfectly complement the vanilla. It places me in a warm, inviting little cabin in the mountains. There might even be what comes across to me as plum at the offset. It’s lovely and smooth and envelopes with a clean, comforting and sophisticated finish. I haven’t been wearing it long enough to judge how lasting it will be, but it seems it will have better results than Vanille Exquise, which wouldn’t last more than a few hours at most. This is definitely a unisex scent, but I don’t see it appealing to many young people who might gravitate towards stronger, sweeter gourmands. This is like a finer dry wine, it will only improve with age. Definitely a favorite for me, and the price is so reasonable!

Ambre Eve, Neuf IX by North Stag, and Paris Corner's Amber Grand are the three best Grand Soir clones you'll find. But, of the three I think this one captures the richness of the vanilla note in the MFK the best. Neuf IX transitions to the amber and vanilla very much like the original; and I'd like to also add Eternal Oud in the mix but state that it is more an incense take on the Grand Soir DNA. Barakkat Ambre Eve goes straight to that delicious dry-down, and I think the amped up vanilla note is what makes it so opulent. This is a stunning fragrance that lasts around 15 to 16 hours on me. Only $15 to $20 at most stockists. A note to the people at Fragrantica: Thank you so much for adding Fragrance World perfumes to the database. I have so many of them that aren't yet listed here, all of which I am sure would make a difference to the many fragrance enthusiasts who can't afford perfumes by niche and some designer houses.

i honestly don’t even care about the OG, this is great. i don’t think it’s worth it to compare the two given the price difference. buying dupes and inspirations will always be a thing, and the dupes are continuously getting better, but will never replace the OG. this is just a way for some of us to enjoy a scent DNA without the price tag. this is a sensual, amber heavy hitter. i see people saying it’s more male, and i’d loooove to smell this on a male, but i think anyone could wear this. kind of like teriaq intense, khamrah, 540, etc. amber, spice, vanilla, tonka - everyone can get on board. if you like that DNA, this is for you. it’s relatively linear, overall an amber bomb. simple and sexy. one of my top 3 from the barakkat line.

I bought this a month ago and let me tell you, it was a scrubber at first. It smelled so masculine and bad at first I was going to give this away, I didn't see this one getting any better since I am not well versed on Fragrance World perfumes. Just a few days ago i thought to smell it again to see if had gotten any better, and oh my goodness this is beautiful! Yes it's still a little too masculine for my taste but that amber and vanilla scent in this is so velvety! I spray this on my skin in the morning and by the afternoon, i have the sweetest, smoothest resinous-vanillic-ambery scent i have ever smelled. I cant wait to see how this develops over the months and I am definitely wearing for this Autumn and Winter.

Grand soir and Chanel coromandel both are present in this beauty😍 A lush blend of amber and Siam benzoin 😍 This is an absolute favourite of mine! I bought many bottles and gifted it to my friends and family, to enjoy this beauty! And got myself 4 backups already which I don’t do usually, but I am too scared to not find it someday😅 If you like amber, it’s a no brainer! Amazing dupe of grand soir. I have eternal Oud as well but that one has more of that old person smell that some people talk about grand soir smelling like. This one feels more mature and closer to the OG. Even though this is NOT a gym scent, I like wearing it to the gym and I always get compliments with it. Overall, for the price of $25, it doesn’t get any better than this. Also lasts a good 8 hours plus and projects well on my skin. It’s my only bottle in my 70 bottle collection where I’m 3/4 the way done with it.

This smells like sweet amber and vanilla, and some soft woods. I find it beautiful. I just did two sprays on each wrist and its got intimate projection. I imagine if I over sprayed, this would get STRONG quick. My juice is also GREEN. I was worried, until I read on fragrantica this happens. This kind of reminds me of my husband's Whisper in the Library by MMM. I think it's the combination of vanilla and cedar in here. It's a bit more feminine than Whispers though. I am loving this. It was under 20 bucks!!

I splurged & bought OSW from MFK and I received a free sample of Grand Soir which I immediately fell in love with. This dupe is beautiful. It replicates the warm amber spicy depth to a tee. Longevity is moderate but who cares if you have to respray? It’s 10 x less expensive than the original. Another banger by Maison Alhambra who are fast becoming my favourite seller.

10/10 dupe of MFK Grand Soir. Ok a little alcoholic in the opening but the dry down is identical. Also sillage is a little less intense than the real deal but for the price you can't complain I would absolutely not bother getting the MFK version unless you have money to burn as I have smelt both the real deal & this & let me tell you this perfume is amazing 😍

Smells close enough to Grand Soir for a fraction of the price. Lasts a solid 12 hours with arm's length projection. What's not to like about this one? Fall/Winter (maybe even spring) scent; maybe even summer evenings if not too hot. Unisex, leaning male to my nose. Probably best suited for evening wear, but I'll definitely wear it to work. Banger!

I haven’t smelled grand soir. I can only judge this based on what it smells like! It’s ambery and smooth, soft and sensual. The vanilla is in the background, perfumey and not gourmand. I don’t really get what smells expensive vs cheap. I think that’s all very subjective. I enjoy wearing this in cold weather. It makes me feel cozy and wintry.

This is SO good. The same dusty sweetness that grandsoir has. I haven't smelled grandsoir in a while but this is exactly how i remember it. scent: 9/10 performance: 9/10 (easily 8+ hours and you'll be smelling this on urself, unless you go noseblind) One of the few fragrances I will always rebuy if I run out.

This is literally 1on1, hope the comment doesn't get deleted. IMHO even slightly better than OG, has some extra dark spice. Masterpiece, don't even doubt it, run for it. Longevity..skin scent after 48 hours, beast mode first 10 hours. Smooth, warm, umami, comforty, mood lifting, cuddly puffy cloud.

I had to let this one macerate for a couple months before I revisited it and it is absolutely GORGEOUS. beautiful vanilla weaved throughout a nice smooth amber.Such a perfect cozy scent for the colder months. This is a Unisex Vanilla that leans slightly more masculine.

Let it mature for 2 or more months before judging. Then be amazed at how good this fragrance smells for less than $20. I have a sample of Grand Soir, this comes very close. The OG is a bit more nuanced. To me a 5/5 clone, 4.5/5 scent.

This is one of my favorite amber fragrances. It is well balanced and blended and the longevity and projection are very good. I highly recommend this as an alternative to the more expensive OG.

I absolutely adore this scent. It always pulls compliments. My family prefers this over the OG. While it itches the scratch for me, I never quite forgot the OG and will purchase

I smell a lot of venilla, it's such a warm pretty smell. I marked it as unisex and it definitely is but if I was a dude I don't know that I'd want to smell like this. Love it!

I've never sampled the OG... but this is a really nice amber vanilla. I haven't given it a lot of wears, but it's drawn at least one compliment every time I've sprayed it on.

I've had this for a few months and holy maceration made this last even longer. I can smell it on my clothes even after washing them in the laundry.

Smells spot on to Grand Soir to my nose, can't really spot a difference. Great performance and longevity as well for only $18? Pretty incredible.

#798 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I had mentioned this fragrance in another review and a fellow member asked me if I was going to do an actual review. I was holding off because I had loaned my MFK Grand Soir to a girlfriend (months ago, and like any normal woman she was in no hurry to return it) and wanted to retrieve it (which I did this morning) so I could do a side-by-side comparison and give a definitive judgement as to how good a dupe this fragrance is or isn't. I did that with MFK Grand Soir dupe Miris 41980, which here in the states is available on Amazon at $23.30 and on Mirisperfume.com for the same price. To my nose Miris 41980 is a solid dupe and I've gifted 40 bottles of that and Miris' other very solid clones, only a few of which were disappointments, and which led me to conclude there is no reason for anyone with $25 to spend to smell anything but awesome. So, Maison Francis Kirkdjian "Grand Soir" (for my considerable money invested in the bottle of the original, the best vanilla-amber fragrance of all time) on the back of my left hand. Fragrance world "Barakkat Ambre Eve" on the back of my right hand. 1. In the opening Ambre Eve is sharper with the bitter orange note, but it's not a huge difference. 2. Identical perfume oil sheen. 3. Thirty minutes in the bitter orange subsides considerably, but is still detectible, giving the Ambre an edge of citrus the Grand Soir does not have (and in my opinion does not need). The Grand Soir comes off warmer and more ambery because of this, but again the difference is slight. 4. Sixty minutes in both continue to project, but the Grand Soir amber is still stronger. 5. It's lunchtime, and both are still good skin scents but the Grand Soir is much stronger, warner, more ambery and still projecting arm's length. The Ambre is now a skin scent. 6. Eight hours in Grand Soir remains a very distinct skin scent. Ambre Eve is almost out of gas. My verdict: This is not a Grand Soir dupe, but a similar that's very close and very likeable, great quality at an unbeatable price. But for an actual dupe the Miris 41980 is an actual dupe. I obtained bottles of this Fragrance World Barrakat Ambre Eve on Amazon for $18.99 and I get free shipping with Amazon Prime, so with this scent you could save a few dollars over the Miris clone which comes in a cheap plastic spray bottle, if you care (I don't). For most people Ambre Eve is close enough to an MFK clone to do the job. But if you have Grand Soir this will never do as a substitute and I just gave the Ambre Eve to a barista at the coffee shop.

At this for almost a year now! This is definitely better after letting it sit for a while! At first it smells like Cream Soda, and It was kind of off putting but I didn’t mind it! Wore it today and finally the amber smells ambery. It opened kinda alcohol heavy but quick smelled very warm and ambery. Kind of like a mix between a warm amber and a shower gel ambroxan. In the air it’s just warm and nice but up close it has this nice shower gel undertone. And as it dries down it gets sweeter and more vanillic! Smells like a very nice Expensive Sweet Amber Body Wash! I wish this transition happened sooner since it’s starting to heat up where I’m at. But this will definitely be added to my main line up next fall/winter. Projection 6/10 Longevity 7/10 (5-7 hours) Price 10/10 Overall 7/10

I haven’t sniffed Grand Soir either, but on its own, I’d say this is an earthy amber scent. It’s warm and the cedar really comes through pretty quickly. I haven’t smelled much vanilla or tonka though. I’ve had this for at least a year, put it away, and just getting to it. It does smell so good! But if I’m being honest, it smells like a bougie room spray or a high end hotel. It started off pretty soft but it blooms more the longer you wear it! It does, however, make me sneeze, a lot. I think this will smell best on my husband, not that a woman couldn’t wear it. But I’m afraid if he wore it, I’d have to stay at a distance from him to save myself from sneezing! It is a great scent but I seem to be allergic.

I have the same light green juice as ZB21. Apparently if exposed to too much heat or UV rays it can turn amber fragrances green 🫠. I guess it just got too hot while it was being shipped to me. As for the scent, it is very nice! The smell and longevity don’t seem to be affected by the color turning, but I don’t have another bottle to compare it to. I tested it on skin and had no reaction or anything like that so I’m thinking it’s safe to use. It’s a warm amber scent that gives me fall vibes I’ll definitely get some use out of it! Although my husband doesn’t prefer it. 5/10

Compliments: Huge attention grabber!!! This fragrance will get you a lot of compliments as its impossible to ignore the beautiful warm scent trail you leave behind. Uniqueness: Obviously it being a clone for MFK Grand Soir I cant give it much points for uniqueness but for it being a clone it has really been able to pull it off. Bottle design: Got it very close to the OG bottle, only downside is that the label is a sticker. Overall: 8.5/10

My wife brought home Barakkat Ambre Eve by Fragrance World, and I was skeptical at first. However, when I smelled it, I was surprised by how closely it resembles Grand Soir by MFK, but at a fraction of the cost. It’s essentially Grand Soir after the opening, capturing that rich amber warmth beautifully. For just €20, this fragrance is an absolute steal and a fantastic budget-friendly alternative to the original.

I get a bit of a weird stuffy carsick smell in the opening, but it settles down to something pretty nice. Haven't smelt the original so cant speak on it as a clone but it doesn't blow my mind, probably wont wear it too much. Good value for money though picked it up for £13 and it has good/great performance. Edit: smelt the original and it's very very close, just not the biggest fan of grand soir it seems

Fantastic clone of Grand Soir. Sweet ambery vanilla scent that’s perfect for fall and winter. I just received it, so I can’t speak on performance as of yet. So far from the first few sprays though this is a pretty spot on dupe. Leans a bit more masculine, but a lady can easily pull it off as well. Great fragrance for 20 dollars.

This just came in mail today and the smell is so good and lasts a long time. Couldnt stop smelling myself. Its a bit masculine tho. The disappointment is that the liquid is GREEN. Its super weird. Looks like toxic waste. Even tho it doesnt smell bad, im afraid to use it on my skin

This is a very lovely, spicy and warm wee guy...but it’s too masculine for me to wear. It’s amber, vanilla, a hint of floral. A few sprays and it sings for hours. A lot of fragrance for the price. My brother will be thrilled when I gift it to him!!

Smells like cream soda in a weird way. Weirdly gourmand. But my bottle came green instead of brown. Really strong perfumers alcohol blast in the beginning. Smell 5/10 Longevity 6/10 Projection 5/10 Price 10/10 Overall 6.5/10

Not the biggest fan of grand soir to begin with, but still a decent clone/alternative and its cheap. You just need to spray alot however. 7/10

Great radiating sweet amber scent but my bottle has a very off putting bitter opening. Letting it mature for a bit to see if it helps.

Amazing for the price. A safe blind buy. I ordered it and I’m expecting it soon. Gonna let this macerate a few months.

Grand Soir is a masterpiece, not because of the composition or complexity of the scent itself, but because of the quality and simplicity. Though this fragrance is very similar scent wise to Grand Soir, it misses out on the rich ambery depth, and the overall smooth quality, which is the thing that makes the original Grand Soir so appealing. 4/10 imo

I’m torn on this one. On one hand, it smells like a delicious Christmas party. On the other hand, it’s incredibly sweet. The benzoin is loud and syrupy—def a cold weather fragrance. I don’t find it particularly masculine.

Sunshine in a bottle, for daytime and would suit a formal event. Unisex. It's a nice scent but it doesn't last. I think it could need maceration but I have had it for a fair while and I'm still getting only about 2 hours good projection then bam, skin scent. It's also not very durable, seems like it may not stand to heat and could be better in the autumn, I will have to try it then. I noticed everyone else says it lasts, it could be a skin thing or further maceration. Does not have the depth of GS. Definitely has a cough sweet vibe, like honey lockets

This reminds me of the cough sweets Lockets. I have tried to like this. I just find it a hollow fragrance, very two dimensional. I have not tried the OG but I'm unlikely to ask well because this fragrance is not interesting. I usually appreciate most fragrances too, especially over time but this ain't it. Maybe it would suit others but not me. Yes its a sunny fragrance but it's not manly, it is slightly feminine but I just don't get this one. Very little body to it.

The opening is horrible, but let it dry down for like 15 mins and it’s way better. I was hoping it would be better but hey I only spent like 30 dollars on it so whatever. Compared to grand soir it’s lighter yk, Grand soir is so dense and warm ambery nice, this is missing that depth that makes grand soir so good

Smells like powdery coca cola to me. May be better fit for my hub. I'm a 58 year old woman and Im usually a gourmand girlie or a freshie lover. This was a hard pass for me. Maybe after it matures, I will like it better. Its going on "the shelf of maceration".🤮🤢
