Elysia Vanilla

POV: You are a vampire, and this is how you identify sexy necks for biting. This is exactly what I always imagined bourbon vanilla should smell like: boozy (!), deep and woodsy vanilla wrapped in a swirl of dark brown sugar musk. Imagine (drier/deeper) vanilla mixed with wet rich woods , then spilling bourbon across the counter. You attempt to wipe the spill with Tonka, which lays down a cashmere blanket of woodsy cosiness. Straight out of the bottle it is gorgeous, for me it was instant love. It is linear, with no dramatic mid or dry-down shift, just the whole beast from first spray (and then for the whole day). There is perhaps a little booze evaporation over time in favour of tonka woods. Before you even open it you can see it has matured to a dark, rich colour. Being vanilla, it will get even better with age. Notes: *Superficial note - this bottle looks dainty glass in pictures, but it gives super niche and cool in person. The flowery detail on the cap is almost rubbery, and my (dirty) vampire mind chooses to associate Atsuko Kudo Couture Latex. *I am often wary of anything with a sugar note, as many can be juvenile, cloying, or screechy. Sugar avoiders can relax, this is not that. *It is for sure self-sufficient, but also a dream layering piece. It adds woody, boozy depth to loud florals and works beautifully with spicy or leathery scents. This is my trick for sneaking “fall/winter” fragrances into off-season or daytime wear under the guise of making them more accessible, when really I just brought them into the more dimensional Industrial Gourmand.* (Shhh. We will not tell my brain it is deluded.) *The rest of the Elysia line overlaps with Kayali’s offerings, so this is clearly a nod to Vanilla 28. I prefer this, as it is richer with more bourbon vanilla depth, but the caveat is I have only smelled a fresh bottle of Vanilla 28 so I cannot speak for how it changes with a few months of maturing. *I paid under £20. Even with the above caveat, this is the repurchase. *It's unisex, and I would find it very appealing (wink) to smell it on anyone’s neck. This is not gourmand, it is for the vanilla-initiated (but gourmand lovers will still appreciate it). *I am surprised more guys or mascs are not shouting about woodsy vanilla power. That thing where you are inexplicably attracted to *insert the opposite of your type* is the power this could wield. Maybe those demographics are gatekeeping. I am not. My inner vampire is a hormonal pervert and wants this on more (especially unexpected) necks

I don't think this is a blind buy safe vanilla. People describe it as masculine, earthy, too boozy, dark, spicy, mature, etc. If you are going to blind buy, know that this is a very bare, vanilla option. Closer to the essence than a baked vanilla. It's almost cold, and the clumpy brown sugar, patchouli, and amber all elevate the vanilla, but it is still a less gourmand one. It's a slightly boozy brown sugar, deeper vanilla. Just imagine all the ingredients before you actually bake them. Test it on your skin too; the skin warms it up significantly. I've had this perfume for more than two weeks now, and I will say it's very good. First day, the initial spray was harsh, but I imagine that's because the batch is new (08/2025). But from day two to now, it mellows and settles well and becomes smoother. I need to see how it sits for months or more weeks, but otherwise it's good. It lasts and projects well for what the DNA is (mind you, this type of vanilla pod/vanilla essence isn't beastmode-material, but rest assured, people can smell you). Wore a t-shirt once and put it on a chair, and every time I pass by, I smell it. I personally go nose blind when I'm wearing it - but it clings to clothes well. It's an all-year-round fragrance for me.

Reviewing straight out the box. What I love about the scent of this one is that I get a little bit of everything. Well-blended and has a depth to it. I have many vanillas - spiced, boozy, gourmand - but this DNA is special. It has a Chinese herbal medicine backdrop, with a creamy, faint vanilla cloud lingering on the top. I personally love herbal scents, especially ones that smells rich, earthy, and petrichor-y. I imagine this perfume as a sophisticated version of my favorite soap Dirty Hippie from Pacha (with notes of nutmeg, clove, and patchouli). This is not a vanilla-dominated scent, and I also don't get much boozy notes. If you also hate perfumes with a booze note in it like me, don't be scared to try this perfume because I can barely smell it in here. If you remove the tacky plastic flower at the cap, it's genuinely a very beautiful glass bottle - sturdy, heavy, and compact shape.

so much better than the original. i would say it is around 90% spot on similar, but this one is slightly on the woodier side? it is very vanilla-forward but not in a cloyingly sweet way at all. it also lasts super long and has a great projection. it is probably more suited for cooler climates though, as it tends to become kind of headache-inducing in middle eastern summers. the price point of this is absolutely fantastic - i paid 85QAR for this which is around 17GBP, for comparison. safe blind buy for sure if you like vanilla scents. i would even care to venture that this could even be appreciated gourmand-haters! can transition from day to night phenomenally as well - for nighttime/date night wear, i would layer it with an oud-based perfume to increase its sexiness (i like to use reef 31). another good layering combo is marshmallow blush by paris corner, if you like a true gourmand.

This perfume is great! An amazing alternative to V28. I’d say it’s about 85% similar, the main difference is it’s a little smokier than V28 and has almost a fruitier note? (not sure how to describe it) It smells amazing and it lasts long. Honestly, unless you own V28, you and others probably won’t smell a difference. I love the smokier scent though, it smells amazing especially with fall coming up. As I’ve stated with V28, it’s not a sweet vanilla scent, there’s other things mixed into it. It’s like a Smokey, amber, vanilla. It’s definitely more on the mature side, but not in a grandma way at all. In fact, I’d say this scent tones down the “grandma” a bit more than V28 because of that “Smokey” “incense” like addition. I love it. It’s intoxicating and strays away from sickeningly sweet body mists and such. Perfect for a date night or every day. Definitely layering this with V28.

If you love Vanilla 28, this is definitely blind buy safe and so worth every penny! Elysia Vanilla is a bit less floral and has more emphasis on the pink pepper, which I like very much.(If you have the kayali vanilla 28 body spray in the aluminum aerosol can, this smells nearly identical, just stronger)The first few moments the alcohol smell is fairly strong but it does calm down quickly. It is a fraction of the price of Vanilla 28 so I don't mind that it is a little alcohol-y at first. Elysia Vanilla has soooo much better longevity and hangs on through my entire work day of at least 9 hours and is so cozy and comforting in the last few hours especially. It layers well with so many other scents too. I also have Elysia Sugar Patchouli and Sweet Banana and love those too. The Sweet banana needed to sit a month but Sugar Patchouli and Vanilla did not, in my opinion

I just received my bottle today. It struck me right away how dark the juice is! I smelt Vanilla 28 once but it was a while ago so I can't say how similar they are. But this perfume is a rich kind of boozy vanilla with woodiness and as soon as I sprayed it on me I could smell the patchouli and amber. It is sweet but not sickly sweet because it has that ambery depth. I love it more than I thought I would. My intension was to sweeten the Rifaaqat perfume I have coming, if needed, and other slightly masculine perfumes I have. By the way, I like the bottle but that clear plastic petal thing on the lid was ugly, so I cut it off. I'm impressed with how much oomph this perfume has from the get go. I don't know yet how many hours wear I will get but I don't care because it is beautiful. It feels so cosy when it's only 13 deg C today.

This is almost a perfect dupe of Vanilla 28! My nose can't even tell what the difference between the two are, but I'd say perhaps this perfume is slightly berrier? Or maybe its spicier? At first spritz it definitely has something that kicks which Vanilla 28 lacks. I have Vanilla 28 and Elysia Vanilla side by side right now and honestly it is so hard to tell. Vanilla 28 smells slightly more plain vanilla to me. The dry downs are practically identical in terms of smell. But let me tell you, Elysia Vanilla lasts SO much longer. I sprayed it on myself yesterday and can still smell it today. I like it a lot! This is coming from someone who was obsessed with gourmand as a teen and is now nauseated by strong gourmand. It smells classy, and adult. It also smells a lot more expensive than it is.

I never smelled Kayali vanilla 28 but I've heard so much hype about it that I really wanted to smell what's it's about. And when I heard that Elysia Vanilla is the perfect dupe for it, I wanted to buy it immediately especially given it's super low price point. It took me quite some time to find it because a lot of people are trying to get their hands on it, but when I finally ordered it and got it, I immediately loved it. It's giving a deep vanilla, brown sugar with a hint of spiciness in the opening but that goes away the more it dries down. Perfect for the fall season, so classy and warm. Love it!! Now I don't even wanna buy the og because at this price point I'm getting everything I want and more. Longevity and projection are pretty good too. Overall: 9/10 !

I have the og Vanilla 28 and this dupe is pretty much 95% spot on. It also has a GREAT performance, I'm amazed on how this can perform so good while costing so low. However I do like the og more, the drydown on the og is definitely sweeter and prettier, while on this dupe it smells more linear since the opening, like it stays not that sweet until it's gone hours later, while the og keeps getting sweeter with the hours. Still a great dupe, I already bought 2 more bottles for back up. It's so cheap that I can use it as body spray idc

At first smell I can sense amber very strong, to the point I thought I smell BBW into the night lol. if I want to put it simply its like BBW into the night but change its berry to vanilla. I never smell kayali 28 so I cant say anything about that. I remember spray 1 time on my wrist at 11pm and later at 9.50am I smell it as a skin scent so yeah. for the price depend on your country for me I got it for 12 USD big bottle, u also can check its authenticity through the QR code at the back of the box that you need to scratch to see it.

I have had this for a while now maybe close to a year and I have made a large dent. I didn't wear it much during our summer here in Australia but I put it back on yesterday and my goodness it was stunning. It is rich and deep and smells so much more expensive than it is. I love it. It lasted all day on me, and I got compliments all day long. What a fantastic vanilla, I won't replace my almost gone Vanilla 28 with another one but I will buy a backup of this to have it ready to go. Give this one some time, there are no negatives.

This is the first perfume i have bought and it was perfect without maceration. I imagine it will even get better with time. I expected spiciness(which i don't like) but I got sweet notes of brown sugar and vanilla essence. It smells so good. There are some spicy notes but they are not strong. This is perfect for vanilla scent lovers. Idk if i am the only who feels the sweetness almost smells like the one in Elysia Vanilla sugar. Not that I am complaining. 10/10 scent for sure. It's the vanilla essence type of vanilla scent.

Extremely impressed with this scent, and the Elysia line in general. At first sniff, it smells identical to V28. With the OG, I had to let it sit for a while to smell the way it smells now, but this one smells the same without macerating. Over time, I’m sure Elysia will smell even stronger. 😍 To me, the OG is defo slightly stronger and richer. Elysia does have an alcoholic quality to it and isn’t as intense, but I’m ok with that considering how amazingly affordable it is! Fragrance World has outdone itself with this line.

The most gorgeous spicy warm vanilla, perfect for autumn/winter wear. I’ve already made a huge dent because I’m reaching for it every day. It leaves a huge scent trail, my friend walked into the room and said it smelt so nice, my boyfriend said he could still smell me in his car after I left. If you like vanilla 28 but you didn’t think the longevity of it was worth the price, definitely get this. When I smelt vanilla 28 in the shops I didn’t get the hype, it was so mild, but this was love at first sniff.

I bought Elysia Vanilla as a blind buy after falling in love with Kayali Vanilla 28, but not wanting to spend that much on it. Wow, what an incredible find it was. This is one of my most complimented fragrances to date! It smelled great from first spray...no maceration needed. It's a beautiful, mature vanilla gourmand, with depth added by the smoky and woody notes. I find that it lasts 8+ hours on my skin and projects well. I have bought a second bottle as I don't want to run out.

I have both the original and other dupes and Elysia Vanilla. This one is very very close. I really like it! Elysia sugarnote is more syrupy than kayali thats the main differense to me, So I would say the brown sugar in Elysia Vanilla is more syrupy and sweeter than the brown sugar in kayali is. While in kayali all notes is very well blended and refined. In this I can smell the sugar more clearly. The longevity is about 4-6 hours in this new bottle so It might get longer with time.

Outstanding quality for such a low price. The projection and longevity are amazing - my dad asked why the hallway smelled like vanilla 8m from my room and then when I tried to get my sister to smell it she said the entire house smells like it after I’ve walked through it. I’ve tried Vanilla 28 and it had absolutely ZERO lasting power on my skin nor did it have as much intensity as this. Amazing rich, mature vanilla scent, I heavily recommend letting it macerate as well

Not sure if it’s because my V28 is very new but to me this is a good dupe but so much better than the OG. I wore both today and can still smell Elysia very strongly on one wrist 6 hours later whereas 28 has been gone for hours already. May be it needs to mature but I only received Elysia yesterday and have had V28 a couple weeks already! It is maybe less smooth but other than that the scent profile is spot on

This is definitely my favourite "affordable" perfume! It's my blind buy after reading reviews & checking notes. First spray and I wasn't too sure & even considered reselling it but I waited a week and tried again and....oh my, I'm so happy I kept it. This is sooo gorgeous. Lovely vanilla/brown sugar smell. I love it.... I wore it out once & had a compliment too.
