Moonlit Night

#1272 in my "Tour de Fragrance" It is my great honour to be the first to review this excellent quality note-for-note dupe of Dolce & Gabana's "Luminous Night" which was on the market here for five minutes, then taken away from us. Bastards! Literally some of the best perfumery D&G has ever done and they couldn't give two @#$% about keeping it on the US market. As usual, Fragrance World to the rescue. Solid dupe. Moderate performance, as expected in this excellent price point,. Fresh, creamy, smooth, mildly sweet, but not gourmand. Car pool, elevator, small office safe. My hot model friend Rebecca gave it her approval an hour ago. Now we can only hope Fragrance World will duplicate the rest of the series for us, "One Mysterious Night" and "One Royal Night." I for one am waiting breathlessly.

@JusttheFactsMan.....is speaking facts. I left my review of this one over on the Luminous night's page a year ago since this one hadn't yet been added. I've tested both side-by-side. Insane how good this is. And, honestly, the longevity gap isn't as pronounced. The OG maybe gives me an hour or two more on skin. For about $20. A good pick up.

I bought this one last June and it was a very pleasant blind buy. It's very strong in the opening projection but it settles into a personal bubble after 30 minutes, give or take. Longevity is really good, but people will only get it up close. Great purchase for cool weather and nights out.

My female coworker told me that I smelled "radiant" when she walked into my office. Lovely stuff!

Fragrance World's Moonlit Night is one of many fragrance clones that of late have taken on the limited release or discontinued fragrances. Moonlit Night is a clone of The One Luminous Night. I know for some this is wrong as people who got their hands on it feels cheapened by it. I get that, but then people either a didn't get it in the initial run or b ran out or running low. Moonlit Night is very spicy yet sweet up top. I get some citrus and pepper but I get a good amount of the candied sweetness of the date. The mid produces some geranium with the date. The base is more sweetness from the amber with some smokiness and woodiness from the sandalwood. I find the Moonlit Night lasts quite a while. It lasts 8 hours, not too different to Dolce&Gabbana The One For Him Eau de Parfum. In fact I would say that Moonlit Night smells not that far off The One for Him Eau de Parfum in particular. If The One Luminous Night smelt like The One Eau de Parfum but with a candied fruit smell, you got it. Moonlit Night is a bit more limited in use than The One Eau de Parfum or The One due to the candied sweetness. It works in winter but can work in colder fall nights. Moonlit Night in its own get a 7.8 out of 10 from me. I can't rate it for how close to Luminous Night it is. Luminous Night was rather low in supply especially in America. I don't know why some people look down on clones of these exclusive or fragrances that only last say a year before getting discontinued since it was a limited release or special edition.

I have zero experience with D&G Luminous Nights...so this stands on its own merit in my review. I like it. I get mostly amber...and the note of incense combined with amber gives a subtle smokiness vibe. IMHO, I get a lighter version of PDM Carlisle or Mancera Red Tobacco. Not the same, but it’s the vibe I get. If I didn’t see the note breakdown, I would think tobacco is in this. Longevity is above average. Projection is average but creeps in to a romantic personal space bubble. Good for fall through colder spring days. At this price, I feel it’s a good value.

I have a very different experience with this fragrance than other reviews here, I got a bottle from my brother as he's not much of a fan, but I find its a very light incense scent with a slight sweetness of the dates. Maybe its just my batch? But I don't get any fecal notes and enjoy layering this scent as I find its not particularly unique. Its nice, but I wouldn't re-purchase.

I was able to secure a 10ml of One Luninious Night and I was extatic as I had been looking for this for awhile. I grabbed a bottle of Sultani from Jomas and saw this for $20 so I went ahead and got it. Its a perfect dupe of the D&G but thats not really a good thing. Its a neutered version of a hyper masculine fragrance. It may last a long time, but you can hardly smell it. 5/10

So I'll say this I have got a chance to put my nose on the D&G that this is cloning I will say that if you wanted to go by percentage-wise the dry down is basically the opening after that that's it it's it's literally probably 35%. There's a lot that's wrong with this fragrance and honestly this should be an $8 fragrance I literally only get 6 hours on clothes three on skin

The opening smells like BO. Its nice once it dries down though.

This is an elegant fragrance that will demand total respect, the opening has a unique combination of pepper & dates that just welcomes you to the party. It's a long lasting fragrance with great sillage appealing scent trial, for the price this is the best perfume for the value Update: After a year of having this fragrance I can honestly give my final verdict. When I 1st purchased this fragrance I was in love with this fragrance, until it matured that's when it went down hill. I can't get anything but a synthetic alcoholic concoction that I can't put to my nose without sneezing 🤧, honestly I can't get my nose close enough without having a sneezing attack. I have over 100 bottles, and this is the worst of all of them, the scent itself isn't all that bad, but when you can't put your nose close to it, that's a very bad sign of the quality of ingredients.

2 months update a lot of better and I just sprayed it, the opening with the pepper and basil makes it terrible, although it's still there, the dates and amber come along a lot faster making it more balanced and pleasing, I don't really care for performance as I really want to see where it's headed in terms of scent profile, I'm really trusting the macerating process of shaking it once and a while and spray every month that passes, will update next month.

1 month macerating, still smells like barbeque in the opening and is now sweeter in the dry down, still a no for me.

3 month update, and it got worse, more fecal and less sweet, the pepper just turned to sh!t🥀🥀

The black pepper sage and incense makes this smell disgustingly dry and off putting and the date sweetness makes it smell nasty sweet idk how else to explain it maybe if they added a vanilla it would have been a better sweetness but this is bad. I haven't sampled luminous night yet but I'm sure this isn't close to it. This is one of those cases where dupes don't use quality notes when they copy a designer cologne and it has some of the same notes but they just don't mix well because it's not a good note

A little more expensive, but of higher quality - Lumière Garçon French Avenue
