Notes Classics

Sweet and woody, this little rascal is the tarty, slapper sister of Notes Jazz. Jazz is a comfortable, relaxed sweater of a perfume, whereas Classics is a tight pair of leather pants. In Eastenders terms, Jazz is Mark Fowler (pre aids version) and Classics is Kat Slater. Classics stuns your olfactory nerves with a sweet, fruity accord, which settles down into a sweet, woody leather-clad party. Jazz is not a party animal at all; it goes to bed early, with some serious togs in it's duvet. Jazz offers a gourmand experience, whilst Classics gives you a dirty slap and wants to lick your genitals. I personally think the names of these two very different perfumes are the wrong way round. Your penny pounds are not going to be affected much with Notes Classics, so you might as well take a cheeky punt on it. You might find a new favourite fragrance, or you might only wear it at bedtime, like I do. I find the contrast of party smells and bedtime to be confusing and pleasing. I like defiance. 6/10. It's a strong six, but Jazz is much better, so it doesn't go higher.

Notes Classics is pure 1980s rebellion. Picture this: a girl with an enormous hairstyle, shrouded in a cloud of hairspray, chewing cherry bubblegum, and wearing a heavy, studded leather biker jacket. This scent is precisely that: a total baddie that means business. After letting it mature for four months, the initial sharpness of the leather and synthetic cherry has transformed. It has settled into a sensuous blend of cherry, osmanthus, and suede. During the drydown (on my skin), I pick up on a faint metallic smell, making this perfume sweet yet cold. I'm curious if this fragrance will transition from "like" to "love" in the next couple of months; so far, I find the leather note a tad bit too loud (in the initial hour).

I had an issue with this perfume, but it has the obvious problem of oxidation (or maturation if you want). It should sit down for a while, after couple of spraying, to calm down blood orange and dawana notes which could be so strong in combination with leather. After that, it is nice dark leathery cherry (if you are a fan of that combination as me).

No hate but this starts off as a leathery mess with a really fake cherry-like fruit note and does not get any better. I'll try to revisit it in a month, pretty bad so far.

This to me is in the realm of an Oud maracuja style dna with blood orange! Wasn’t crazy abt it at first. But now i really enjoy it.
