Star Men

I bought a bottle of Angel back in the day, easy 10-12 years ago. Man, I loved that stuff. I feel all fragrance nowadays is pretty similar. This is different. Unique. Polarizing. Angel (rebranded A*Men) has seemingly been discontinued, but you can still pick up a bottle. Didn't feel like paying the price, so I picked up the clone, instead. To my nose, it's a little different than the original, but it stays true to the spirit of Angel. It gets to the dry down right off the bat, and stays there for a while. Chocolate and floral notes. Stays pretty linear throughout. Subtle and stays pretty close to the skin, but lasts a good 8-12 hours. I wouldn't wear this in the high heat, but cool days and nights should work. This is not for everyone, but I like it. Punches above its weight class, and smells like an expensive niche fragrance for less than $20. If you dare to be different, to smell different, then pick this one up. Would I buy it again? Yes.

I have a nearly full bottle of original A*men with the Theirry Mugler script on the box (early 2000s era) and two bottles of Star Men - (one with green juice from 2021, and one with blue juice from 2022) and I can confirm all 3 smell identical. Both star men smell the same (I guess the coloring dye was different- but the scent and strength is identical) and both of these are dead ringers for the original A*men. They are an amazing clone, and well worth it. Patchouli, coffee/chocolate spices, etc. All the goodness and performance of the original captured perfectly. They knocked it out of the park with this one. So... we also have Nebula, a very good Pure Malt clone, how about cloning some of the other flankers... Havane? Zest? Kripto? Fragrance World.. are you listening??

As the reviewer below me stated. I have a green juice bottle as well and I get...a chocolate patchouli BOMB! Those are the two most prominate notes which to my nose, is super addictive. When I started my frag journey I thought I would HATE something like this but after smelling the OG and this, I can see why this was so interesting back in the 90s. If I purchase another bottle and it is blue, I will report back if it smells any different! Good stuff!

This is good weird and chocolaty and the dry down smells a lot like A men and Angel. It’s still a fairly unique scent all these years later. A real bargain. I’ve given decants to a few friends and I might try to score a back up. My juice was green though, not light blue. Expiration date was still two years away though so I dunno, guess it turns green? I am really enjoying this as it turns to winter where I live. I would re-purchase or buy A*men.

This thing is NUCLEAR. My best performing frag ever. The OG is higher quality, and this slips the OG opening and smell more like the dry-down for the entire duration. But I got it for $17, and it smells and performs like at least a $60 designer fragrance. Projection is LOUD for 3-4 hours, then good sillage for another 2-3 hours, then close to skin for another 6 hours, and on clothes for over 24 hours. It's not a safe blind buy though. Try the OG at a store first.

Never had Mugler A-men but was told it's a pretty spot on clone. Was on sale on Amazon so figured I'd give it a whirl. It's alright for the price. There's a ton going on with this scent profile and not really sure how to place it. It's a sweet gourmand for sure. I suppose it has some chocolate type notes that I can discern. There's no vanilla in there like a lot of the popular gourmands today. Haven't really worn it too much and when I do, it's 'meh'; would rather reach for something else. FW Proud of You Absolute & Lattafa Asad Bourbon I prefer much more for gourmands.

#1387 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I desperately miss the full Mugler line, and a thousand curses on L'Oreal for buying then ruining the brand. This clone is identical to Mugler "A*Men" for roughly three minutes. Then it's mostly chocolate, cilantro and patchouli. The Mugler "A*Men Malt" clone "Star Men Nebula" also didn't hold the scent of the original much past the opening. The dry down isn't bad for either, they just don't keep the character of the Mugler scents. Definitely not as cheap as this, but Dua Fragrances copies of Mugler are way better.

The first spray feel so punchy (for me), it gave sweet but 'REALLY SWEET' to me and gave me headache, it feels like massage oil combined with chocolate that have super sweet. Drydown lowkey fine to me, the intensity of sweet not that punchy as the first time I sprayed, and it smell quietly wood and mossy.

Thanks for info. I was about to order green version on Ebay. Notes don't line up either looks like a completely different cologne.

Bought a bottle with a manufactured date in 2022. Liquid was a weird green color instead of blue like the pictures advertised. Smells like a spoiled chocolate milk scent. Honestly the worst fragrance I've smelled. Guessing these can go bad because I can't explain how someone would otherwise like this. I sprayed on my skin and it filled the room unfortunately. Even after rubbing hand sanitizer on me then taking a long shower to get it off I still smelled it.

I've never smelled a more offensive cologne in my life. I've never smelled the original, but if this smells like it, then I hate it too. I gave it so many chances. I tried it in cold weather, warm weather, and let it macerate for months. It almost makes me gag. I have over three hundred bottles of cologne and this and one other are the only two that I don't like This would be a great gift for someone you hate.

Never had Mugler A-men, so can't compare. But for me, this just stinks! I smell sour chocolate milk, and that's about it. Had to wash off. I love Star Men Nebula, but this one is a no-no for me! To Note: As some mentioned below, I also have the green liquid instead of the blue, so maybe there's something going on there. Maybe it goes bad quickly? Ok, I would classify this as a warm winter fragrance. The patchouli and chocolate do come out first, and they're the dominant notes of this fragrance. I think what most people object to are the underlying musks that create a mild animalic smell (best described by another fragrance enthusiast as the smell of a puppy's belly). This is in the late dry down, which is dominated by vanilla and musk. Reminds me of an old cologne by Avon called Wild Country. Smells pretty natural overall, but not for everyone. Not bad.

I was looking for something that did smell similar to "Angel" by Mugler. To me, it smells very similar and for that I am very happy. I thought of layering it with Angel yet it smells so good on it's on. I will certainly repurchase this one because it smells that great and the price is amazing. I only received my bottle today so I am anxious to see how long it lasts. If you love Angel, you may love this as well.

Same as the guys below me, I've received a bottle with the green liquid and it smells like shit. Literally sour, spoiled milk. Avoid at all costs. Not worth even $5. Hell, even for free I wouldn't take this shit. Absolutely disgusting.

Wore this side by side with the original Mugler. I really can't tell the difference! Even performance is identical. By far the closest to the original of any clone I've purchased. A patchouli BOMB!
