Zero To Legend

Nose Note #837 It has a strong alhocol opening, but besides that - this is a wonderful mens aromatic fougere. If this is actually what Speed Legends smells like, then it's one of those fragrances like Sedley and Castley that you feel you've paid an absurd sum of money for a fragrance that could just as well be released by Montblanc, Lalique, Bentley or other budget-friendly brand (these are literally the brands that this DNA reminds me of - a fragrance for a "serious man"). It's dry and vetiveresque, slightly citrusy. To my nose it's not sweet at all despite having tonka in the notes. If you like: Egoiste Platinum, Encre Noire, Sedley. You could say this is Aventus Absolu, but made more 90s-like or Drakkar Noir, but made super modern. An aftershave type smell, yes, but very nice. It's a more mature scent. Performance is just about average. 7.7/10, very nice and I'll be wearing it with great pleasure, but it's nothing outstanding

Haven't smelled the original but I get some Sauvage Elixir drydown elements and some of the bright aspects of Loewe 7 Cobalt. It's quite powdery and smooth despite the initial blast being quite alcoholic and nose-stinging. Definitely improves after 15mins on skin. Now putting away to store for a little while as I think it might become more vibrant as it develops.
