Freedom

‘Punk means musical freedom. It's saying, doing and playing whatever you want. In the dictionary ‘nirvana’ means freedom from pain, from the suffering of the outside world: it's as close as I can get to my definition of punk rock.’ A sentence by Kurt Cobain, one of the artists celebrated in this fragrance, referring to 80s music and its idea of freedom from rules and conventions. A Gourmand creation that cannot be taken for granted, with deep, boozy scents wisely blended with aromatic nuances. It appears decisive, hard, very complex, telling us, perhaps, that freedom must be obtained by fighting, hanging on to one's beliefs and, above all, must be defended with all one's strength, but what it gives us is truly priceless. ‘Revolutionary’ painted by Wadsworth and Jae Jarrell.

There's a noticeable herbal earthiness from the cumin, basil and rosemary. Combined with the oakmoss and tiare flower it kind of gives off a papyrus kind of feeling. The cumin is slightly unbearable for me, at least within the first couple hours of spraying. It's kind of sour and overbearing. I think if the cumin were slightly dialed back and the rum or passionfruit were a bit more amped up, this fragrance would be more generally palatable. There's a more powdery sweetness that shines through more in the drydown but i'd still say this is by no means a strictly feminine fragrance. The herbs and cumin definitely make this wearable by men. I find this to be totally unisex, the white florals really do not shine through all that much. To me this is a slightly sweet, herbal and spicy blend. Feels a bit fresh but i wouldn't say suitable for summertime. Spring and fall, maybe.

Vintage style floral fragrance, the boozy aspect bringing a bit of that "opulence" you might find in vintage Guerlain compositions for eg. but with a more fruity aspect, and maybe not quite as smooth. Too feminine for my tastes but not bad. Absolutely nothing like Fate Man as has been voted, that is a bizarre comparison other than they both have cumin noted.
