Geranium

Cant sense any lavender in he beginning probably due to the strong geranium-citrus fusion, but after about 20-30 minutes the lavender peeks through. But it ́s the geranium that interacts through all the stages. I ́m glad grapefruit is not given more space here since I find the presence of that fruit in perfumes repulsive. All the three stages are quite distinctive and pleasantly woven together by Chambenoist and his geranium accord. The middle part quickly subsides giving way to heliotrope and musk that completely rules the dry down, and what a dry down it is. The resemblance with classic Brut is striking and they seem to have some dna in common, but Boclet uses higher quality ingredients, and manage to blend the notes more elegantly. I just loved Brut during the 70 ́s. ( the modern deflated Brut by Unilever we can forget about, since its so blunt and soulless ). I ́m happy we now have a honorable succesor to the memorable Brut. The last hours of Geraniums life span you get minimal silage, its more or less a skin scent by then, but on me it last well over 6 hours. Its a big like for me, this retro fougère beauty.

Update after a year in: Great go to scent to smell classy, masculine Very well blended and soothing overall I also love the old school shape of the bottle Could have been from the 1920's Smooth, simple, classy masculine. An efficient exploration of one of the main accents of classic barbershop fougere. Might be more suited for the older gentleman but ultimately, very smooth and classic! Not a harsh geranium nor a super minty one but well rounded and slightly sweet. Very relaxing. One of the most classic barbershop fragrances.

I am going to say it again: this house is very much under the radar and under rated i have a lot of their scents and they are quite glorious They are all so perfectly blended and classic right away The bottles are also gorgeous and old school, very solid feel to them today, my SOTD is Geranium, which is one of the most beautiful old school barbershop geranium based scents

Incredibly similar to Chanel Boy. Shares the same overall powdery-aromatic vibe. Considering it can be bought for much cheaper (around 60€), and has considerably better performance, go for this over Chanel

Opens with a very nice sweet lavender and geranium duo, kept fresh by a noticeable lime note, with an overall mint-y feeling. The lavender then leaves the stage, to make space for a nice creamy orange blossom, and still, geranium. The base is a no thrills, but again nicely done, vanillic/musky wood note, with a hint of lavender coming back. The consensus on Boclet's regular line seems to be "nicely done, even if not groundbreaking". This one makes no exception, and that's a great point. That said, the projection is terribly poor on my skin, and I had to spray 5-7 times on my hand in order to be able to perceive the skin scent and do this review. It's nice overall, but because of a lower-than-EdC performance, I feel that the price tag is not justified, not even at discounters. Too bad, because the smell is very nice, and should it have had better performance, it could possibly have been a serious competitor to rockstar geranium frags, like the ones of Malle and Creed.

Opened creamy lavender then the lime / grapefruit kicked in. Very weak geranium from my expectation. Overall a nice barbershop vibe, but not the strong geranium perfume I am looking for. Edit. Surprisingly after 12 hrs I still can smell the sweet soapy dry down on my skin. Very pleasant surprise indeed. The dry down reminds me of another perfume I can quite remember which.

Geranium by Franck Boclet is a pleasantly balanced floral that fits a quiet afternoon just as well as a confident workday—think a fresh suit, clear weather, and wanting something elegant but not overwhelming. Longevity is above average at 5–6 hours, and projection is moderate for the first hour, then settles into a softer, more personal trail. It’s easy to wear in spring and early fall, offering a lift without edge, and feels versatile whether indoors or outdoors. If you want florals with a smooth, classic vibe, it’s a solid pick that never feels loud or dated.

Smells almost identical to Chanel's Boy from about 30 minutes after the initial spray. Based on the Fragrantica breakdown of notes, Boclet's Geranium shares eight notes in common with Boy. Has good longevity if sprayed on clothes and is, of course, considerably less expensive than Boy. Not distinctive because of its remarkable likeness to Boy, but a good, cheaper alternative.

Never smelled Chanel Boy, but off the tester strip FB Geranium does give off a more modern Brut vibe. I will update my review when I have given this fragrance a full wearing.
