Sun Java White Men

I've had this now for over a year and it's one of my favorites for the spring and summer. Sun Java White is very similar to Creeds Silver Mountain Water. I had put SMW on one hand and this on another and they are nearly the same. Where SMW is more sharp and metallic this goes down a more powdery path.This is very well blended.The rosemary and the sage balance out the citruses.This works for me because I'm not a fan of heavy citrus. Over all this is a great fragrance that I would definitely recommend. If you like Creed SMW this is a definite pick up. At around $20 dollars this is a definite steal.

Having used Silver Mountain Water before I must say that on my skin this SJW is very much the same as SMW. On the drydown it is also very very similar to SMW. Maybe at the end it smells a bit more powdery and not as crisp as SMW. But can't expect a perfect clone with this price tag. Comparing prices... this is a real SMW clone. I find it better than Al Wisam Day from Rasasi, which is also very much like SMW, but only after some minutes. The beggining is very floral, but the middle and drydown of AlWisam is very similar to SMW. Anyway, on my skin SJW is absolutely close to SMW.

I wouldn’t say Java Sun White is a dupe for Silver Mountain, they belong to the same group but you can tell the differences. Java White is a more brusque fragrance, it lacks the refinement and subtlety of Silver Mountain. Java White is more like a “in your face” type of perfume. But besides all that, I like it. The screeching citrus notes can be a turn off for some but I don’t mind. It’s clean but not in a soapy way, think about lemon, aldehydes and a light white musk. I like it and enjoyed using it for work or leisure time.

Don't let the price on this one fool you! What you get pays for itself right away with the punch that it packs. Strong yet delicate, with a scent that will last the whole day on your skin and eternally on some clothes. To me, this evokes the essence of a sunlit stroll along a coastal town. Not along the beach, but perhaps further in as you approach the square while walking along some citrus trees in a yard with no clouds in sight.

my gift arrived today.. excellent product and very very similar with creed silver mountain. I have SMW sample and side by side tested with Sun white i dont see difference between products..Must Have brothers!!!

Update # day 1 tested in my skin and longevity is very good.. in day after, the fragrance was there, strong in my shirt.. approved!!

Franck Olivier Sun Java White Men was one I came across through suggestions of a Silver Mountain Water after I found Al Rehab Silver was a metallic oud-dud for me. You may disagree with this about Silver, but this was what it smelt like to my nose. Sun Java White Men when you first get it is metallic, but nowhere near Silver's metallic bomb. That said, I found as it is more and more sprayed, this goes down. I can't say that with Silver. Sun Java White Men's notes are nice. To me, I get A LOT of tangerine which can be metallic but I also get black currant lemon and some slight orange in the open too. The mid is very rosemary and mint based. In the base I just get musk. I do kind of wish I would get an aquatic note and the tea note from both Silver and Silver Mountain Water respectfully, BUT I do like the note mix here. Sun Java White Men is an EDT as oppose to an EDP like Silver, Entebaa, Al Wisam Day, or Silver Mountain Water so performance may be slighter. For me it projects pretty good for an hour to an hour and a half, but it lasts about 6-7 hours as a skin scent. I can't complain but that maybe a little too slight for Silver Mountain Water clones. I'm not sure as I've only tried Sun Java, Silver and Entebaa. Sun Java White Men is fairly useable. It is nearly skeleton key minus clubbing. It would work well in work settings as it isn't abrassive, cloying or too strong. A casual setting is fine considering the price point. A date would enjoy it since it don't smell all that cheap. Dressed up can easily work as again it does not smell cheap, unless your circle is very use to Silver Mountain Water. This stuff works real good in spring and summer. Franck Olivier Sun Java White Men is a nice under the radar scent, especially considering it is in a genre with a lot of competition like Al Wisam Day and Entebaa by Rasasi, Derby House Blanche by Armaf, Silver by Al-Rehab and even scents that fit the smell like say CK One. I rate Sun Java White Men a 7.7 out of 10. It is really nice, performs, but I find it can really get lost in the shuffle.

Do not know what SWM smells like. SJW opens up with a strong citrus accord where lemon prevails over everything else and that gives this frag - to my nose personally - the vibe of a citrus air freshener. Then it slowly fades to grapefruit - bergamot note. Stays like this around 3-4 hours on the skin and (with 4 applications) over 12 hours on linen. I blocks my nose after an hour. It still smells quite strong but I smell it less and less when it's on my skin since I'm in kind of a constant contact with the frag. Young girls should like it - I tested SJW on one and got a positive reaction. Elderly ladies may think it's too fresh and strong (again, tested). Overall, if SMW smells like this, I guess it's my nose that gives me a sort of a cheap impression since I used to use citrus air freshener in the lavatory a lot and now automatically connect this smell to that vibe. It's a common mistake, tho - a lot of people associate a lot of fragrances with their parents/grandparents further telling those smell old and unattractive or with negative emotions/situations pushing people to say this or that frag is bad.

It’s smells ok, maybe good if I could smell it, it’s very very light. After being frustrated on how weak the performance is I just went wild with the sprayer and did about 25 sprays, that smelled like the equivalent of about 3 sprays of other SMW clones I have such as Silver and the Cremo version. Luckily I only paid $4 for it as an opened return, but $20 seems to be the going price online and for that price it’s a waste. I suggest to go with Armaf CDNS. Maybe I got a bad batch but still if quality control is that bad I would just assume skipping it for another option. It’s a very light and airy version of SMW, the citrus notes don’t last long, after about 30 minutes it’s just straight musk with a nearly imperceptible rosemary.

A close friend of mine used to wear Silver Mountain Water. When he was running low, I could not (and WOULD NOT) spend hundreds of dollars on SMW. So I gifted Sun Java White to him for Christmas. Finding this fragrance as a dupe for SMW and for $20, I figured I'd give this a try. Low and behold, it DOES smell like Creed's Silver Mountain Water. Straight out of the gate, it's musky, soft citrus-y, tangy, and with a subdued sweet black currant (which give off slight undertones of cat urine). The dry down becomes a smooth musk with a soft sweetness complementing it. Its lasts the usual 6-8 hours. I confess it's not as refined as SMW, but it will do for the inexperienced fragrance fan/wearer.

Ok so the best i can explain this is that it smells like citrus and light powder ... In a good way! At first I wasn't sure but my Latin wife was obsessed with it! So was every other woman I wore it around. So much so that my wife spays it on her sometimes. I even bought a bottle for my mother because she loved it so much! Now... what I do is I mix this with Versace Blue Jeans and call it White Jeans... lol My wife goes crazy! She loves the combo... $20 a bottle and $15 for Blue Jeans can you really go wrong??? I already have new bottles in plastic for when I finish my older bottles. I wouldn't quite say blide buy worthy but it is cheap enough to give it a shot!

Impression: Citrus dominant opener mounted on orange varieties. On the front, steely and nose drying which invites warming amber towards the throat once settled. Syrupy sweet, not sticky, but clean. Holds onto the greenery well, its welcoming, and yet maintains a grip on the mild floral presence. The vibrant early bloomer which finds its place as the almost characterless girl next door is rescued by a lingering moreish muskiness that is well bodied and present. Spritely one moment - mature the next.

When I first sprayed this I instantly thought of Azzaro Chrome. I haven't tried the original Silver Mountain Water so I can't compare it to that. This is a very fresh and slightly spicy type of scent that is great for warmer months I would say. This whole Sun Java line does not disappoint so far but I haven't tried the original Sun Java yet. The White right here is a fantastic fragrance for warm weather and great if you're on a budget. It is also blind buy safe.

The rosemary and musk totally confuse this scent. They are too noticeable and mess up what perhaps would be a really good citrus scent. This scent is just average. Some people might like it but with it's odd scent and short longevity, it's a pass to buy the 2nd time around. This was a blind buy for me. Scent: 5.5 Longevity: 4 Silage: 5 Quality : 6

Smells pretty much identical to Creed Silver Mountain Water. Way cheaper too!

Get Armaf Sillage instead, smoother and rounder

I don't really care for either this or Silver mountain water but to be fair if you like SMW then you will love this as well as its 90% like SMW. Only differences are SMW has a better opening but honestly this smells better as it progresses as this doesn't have that weird ink note that SMW has. This also some POTENT stuff ! 2 sprays and this stuff lasts 12+ hours and projects very well. I'd say 3 sprays MAX as otherwise you will be choking people out. I do like this smell but to me this smells more like a woman's perfume more than a mans. The same goes for SMW. This version is slightly more masculine so props there. Overall rating --- 7 out of 10 ! even though it's not my cup of tea I have to give credit where credits due as this is a GREAT clone of SMW and in my opinion actually smells better and slightly more masculine and has beastly performance

Yuck. I tried this one hoping it would be a decent SMW clone for less. SMW is one of my favorite fragrances of all time, but I despise this one. I would probably never, ever, in my life have associated it with Silver Mountain Water when smelling it. It’s harsh, it doesn’t feel fresh and watery, not even cool or invigorating. It smells like raisins and some generic citrus/musk chemicals. I actually really enjoy the OG Sun Java as a stand-alone fragrance, so it’s not like I’m opposed to wearing cheapies, this just... blech. Strong, strong dislike. Not even remotely close to matching the scent and vibe of Creed Silver Mountain water.

This smells just like Silver Mountain Water, at least from what I remember. It has that same tea and metal note which many will like, but I am not among those people. Still though, it pulls it off nicely and is easily enjoyable.

I have to agree with Konga5000...this is the most metallic fragrance I have ever smelled. At first I thought it was pleasant...but I must have overdone it because it was giving me a headache and I was turned off. It m Metallic musky black-currant and citrus. I do get a similarity to Silver Mountain Water...but this is too much and in your face.

Smells very floral and not in a good way. I do not get the comparison with Creed Silver Mountain Water. Cannot believe this is for men. Gave me a headache.

This is a beautiful icy white fragrance by Frank Olivier, and is supposed to be a clone of Creed's Silver Mountain Water. I have had great experience with Frank Olivier in the past - I own their 'Eau de Passion Men' which is a near perfect replica of Chanel Platinum Egoiste for only $25 (and it projects and lasts for a long time as well). Sun Java White is likewise a beautiful creation. In the opening I smell a natural smelling mix of to my nose frozen citrus fruits - including lemon, bergamot, and tangerine - along with blackcurrent and a sort of white musk and mint that makes the whole thing smell 'cold'. It indeed does evoke the sense of an alpine mountain stream. Compared to the other Silver Mountain Water clone, al-Rehab's Silver, this smells far more natural and more similar to the actual Creed fragrance in question (although I enjoy the $5 al-Rehab perfume oil as well). The al-Rehab has a more metallic opening while Sun Java White is softer and has that characteristic musk that all Creed fragrances have (and in particular reminds me a lot of Millisime Imperial along with Silver Mountain Water). I have no clue how they accomplished that in a clone; the drydown in fact smells almost identical to the Creed; props to Frank Olivier. On the drydown, the al-Rehab goes in the direction of tea and aquatic notes, while Sun Java White goes in the direction of blackcurrent and musk (although it does have hints of tea and aquatic notes as well). They do actually smell somewhat similar to my nose on the drydown - Sun Java White is 'brighter' and more natural smelling while al-Rehab Silver is more melancholy and metallic - but the openings are largely different between the two, with Silver being super metallic and similar to Azzaro Chrome and Sun Java White having a natural citrus-dominant opening. Projection is moderate (good for summer weather), while longevity is pretty strong for a fresh fragrance. To compare this fragrance to another one, it smells somewhat like Montale's Aoud Forest but without the rose note - though personaly I prefer the Montale simply due to its more natural and stronger smell (although I love this as well). I think layering the two together would be a great idea. Overall, I really like this fragrance and it's in my opinion one of the best clones of Silver Mountain Water. 4.5/5

My impressions of the scent may change over time but here goes: So far what I get overall with Sun Java White is the most "Nineties Frag" version of a Silver Mountain Water clone, which is apt because the Creed dropped in 1995. What I mean by that is, this one smells like it goes with a world where Nirvana's In Utero is snarling from wood grain speakers, through a Marlboro Reds haze of Kate Moss Obsession ads and kids doing dabs behind Strawberries Records on Saturday afternoon. It has a loud, fruity-fresh sweetness right up front, an overload of sugary blackcurrant, and a citrus accord so hi-pitched that it barely registers to me. Eventually green tea appears, wan and compressed into skeletal proportions, like one of the wretched children that clings to the Christmas ghost in that holiday yarn by Dickens. It struggles for attention, and eventually joins its competition in what smells like a very smooth, uncomplicated drydown of fruity amber. I smell a small dose of Ambroxan, or something similar, lending an added dimension of freshness it would likely otherwise lack. Ultimately SJW is much better than Al Rehab Silver, but arguably a touch shy of Derby Clubhouse Blanche and Al-Wisam Day, although all of these clones are similar enough that it may not even matter. Longevity is easily 8 hours, and projection is a beast for at least half of that time. To me, it goes like this so far - each clone uses the exact same faux blackcurrant note, but they put their own spin on how it is perceived. If you just want a bitingly metallic citrus and frooti-sweet accord that drones along in linear fashion all day long, get Silver roll-on oil. If you want a pseudo niche metallic tea rose scent, then go Rasasi. If you want a more tea-focused blackcurrant and aquatic musk scent, then get the Armaf. And if you just want an intense "fresh" and sweet designer-grade blackcurrant scent, Franck Olivier is an excellent option. Just don't be fooled - this smells as loud as the original formulas of every 90s freshie used to be.

I sampled SMW as a newbie with high sensitivity but now my sensitivity has been low for several months. I don't get the nice SMW opening, but that may be due to the low sensitivity. And unfortunately, I don't remember the drydown of SMW. In any case, Sun Java White is quite nice, though it seems a bit weak. The top notes don't last long, and then it seems to be dominated by soft citrus, black currant, a tea-like quality, and what I'll guess is a touch of galbanum and an amber accord that isn't vanillic. I don't get clear patchouli, but it's a touch musky, and I don't see why this can't be marketed as unisex. It's not a run-of-the-mill citrus/"masculine," that's for sure, and it's certainly reasonably natural smelling. UPDATE: I'd rate the longevity as at least good, but the projection as moderate to poor. Next time I wear it I'll apply at least five sprays and report back if that makes a substantial difference.

This one to me smells similar to lalique white for me. A sharper more aggressive more metallic version of lalique white. It lasts a decent amount of time for a fresh smell. For me it projects for 2 hours but lasts on my skin for about 5 hours. I dont remember exactly what SMW smells like but I do remember it smelling like womens hair stuff. A very strong womens hair spray. Gave me a headache. Sun java white smells great. Doesnt give me a headache. Spring time summer time recommended.

Got this today and from all the comments on here-- nobody screamed "synthetic/metallic ". This smells like all chemicals (well, maybe natural lemon, orange or mint as they are super cheap ingredients ) . This smells a LOT like an Al Rehab cheapie "Silver". This was VERY inexpensive so you get what you pay for. Something tells me that CREED's Silver Mountain smells more natural...it HAS to. The Insurrection line has better CREED dupes than this. Thumbs down .

i just received this today and not knowing what SMW smells like i can't compare but i can tell you that it is a very strong fruity smell that is not synthetic and smells very expensive. i like it a lot. amongst the fruits i get a dirty but good dirty kinda scent maybe from the pepper or the patchouli. this is a great value as it cost me $16 and the bottle is really nice. highly recommended but use sparingly as it is powerful.

It's a very nice scent and indeed very, very close to SMW which I had the chance to compare directly. Clean, pleasant, inoffensive, fresh yet smooth and somewhat creamy. Same as SMW this is actually unisex, I personally find it even slightly on the feminine side. Downside: the plastic parts (cap and top of the bottle) easily get detached, falling apart. However for this price: highly recommended add-on to every collection.

I don't understand those who claim that this fragrance has no longevity and no sillage. I didn't like it, so I gave it to my father and now I observe from the sidelines the long lasting longevity of this fragrance and how spacious its sillage is. I didn't like it because of the strong musk note and also because I remember a similar female perfume of a relative, so I consider this fragrance more feminine.

Smells nice, for a woman, reminds me of Tampax. Got me scared to buy anything if it has the black current note in the formula. I think a guy could wear it. I did a bunch of times with no notice from others. It does linger for at least 5 hours. Gotta kill it on a cold day and people will know your there.

This is easily the worst purchase i've ever made. It's not that the scent is horrible but the longevity on this is non existent to say the least. There's no "dry down" since the smell dessipitates in a matter of seconds. Smell 8/10 Projection 2/10 Longevity 0.5/10 Overall 1/10

Almost identical clone of Silver Mountain Water by Creed, sillage is moderate while longevity and projection is really poor for my skin, but if you want to know how SMW by Creed smells like, you can buy that and you'll get the point in a cheaper way..

I am really eager to try this fragrance. Every fragrance attacked by Konga500 (2 reviews down) it's usually very good or even outstanding. As soon as I get it I will state an opinion.
