No. 85 Sucre

On my last trip to Berlin I went not to 'Frau Tonis' but to Harry Lehmann's shop and got myself a small bottle of this. The service was lovely and one can have a nice chat about notes and where they are sourced. The store has such a retro charm, very unpretentious. And of course I didn't mind paying a lot less for the same fragrance. @fleurgourmande: thank you for making me aware of Frau Tonis basically selling priced-up Lehmann's perfumes! You won't easily stumble over Lehmann's shop by chance, while Frau Tonis is bang next to one of Berlin's main tourist attractions. Without you I wouldn't even have thought to find Lehmann's. Now for this fragrance. It is a super soft and feminine non-screachy peach. It's not the fruity hyper-girly peach you'd find in many drugstore fragrances, but a very soft plush one with a very subtle sweetness. To me it's a lovely feminine scent suitable for women of all ages. It fairs best around 10 to 25 degrees Celsius (50 to 77 Fahrenheit), I'd say. A perfect springtime and early summer fragrance. Projection is medium on me. It's definitely there, but not very 'bam' in your face. Longevity if I am not sweating is just about 8-10 hours. It's a very classy soft fruity scent. On my next trip to Berlin I'll definitely pick up a bigger bottle.

"Frau Tonis" is a Berlin brand that just takes the original perfumes from "Harry Lehmann" (check the website and ABSOLUTELY the store when you're in Berlin!) and slaps a new packaging on it, selling it for double the price. And they make up notes which are not in the perfume (cinammon in this example) to sound more interesting. I guess Harry Lehmann makes money out of it, which I support. Lehmann is a very old, family-run small manufacturer since 1926. They sell their top quality perfumes for around 5€ per 10ml, no flashy marketing or faux-hipster packaging. I find it unsincere of Frau Tonis to label it as their original creation. Even the names are the same from Lehmann's perfumes. Concerning the perfume Sucre: Very similar to Gucci Rush in the beginning (3-4 hours) in its plasticy peach note. It mellows down to a nice bright sweet white floral. No green or woody notes unfortunately, which I find would make Sucre more complex. But it stays true to its name: sugary. Longevity around 10 hours.
